  1. Hi! When I talked to the wedding planner in Mexico for our wedding over the phone within 2 weeks), she said if Marvin drops at the concierge, there would be no fee. If he comes into the resort and help decorating, there would be some fees. Contact your planner, and make sure that you have some sort of written confirmation over email. Good luck!
  2. Hi Jenn Although it's been 7 months since your wedding, big congrats!! I just realized that a Catholic wedding should be done at a chapel/church that is officially authorized by the church. As I was searching more about this, I read your posting which you talked about Catholic wedding at the Royal. Thank God that you mentioned about 'the little chapel'!! I already reserved the gazebo, and the main reason we decided with the Royal PDC is the gazebo, going to the Cancun resort to do the Catholic wedding is questionable. But I was thinking maybe I can do a little ceremony a day after at the chapel!! (We are going to fly with our own Priest Would you let me know which chapel you're talking about? Were you referring to the one at the Royal in Cancun? I don't know whether you come at this website anymore, since your last posting was on a day after your wedding. *sigh* Anyway. Thank you!! Cynthia
  3. I have the same problem but I think the threads are removed. A possible reason is that this thread is on going and more recent?
  4. wow!! The venue for the reception looks so wonderful. I was also considering Playacar Palace for my ceremony as well!! We decided to go somewhere else, but they have a good package and a great hotel for sure. I bumped into your boudoir photos while I was looking for a photographer. Small world Anyway. Thanks for sharing! and congrats!
  5. Beautiful and awesome!! Great job! Is there any tip that you can give us how to fold the pockets? I am planning to make my own invitations, but am worried about folding. Thank you!
  6. Peonies. I think they are the most beautiful right before blooming
  7. I did not know that I don't have the permission to edit/delete my own posts!! I posted duplicated messages last night and it is embarrassing/frustrating that I can't erase them.
  8. Hi! I am also a newbie here! I was able to set the venue and date within a week. I suggest to set a budget first, and go to the traveler's review websites (ie.tripadvisors.com). If you have a location in mind, search the name of the city and check the rank of the hotels. 1. Check the photos and reviews. If you like a few hotels, make a list 2 2. Go to the websites that sell vacation packages (ie. selloffvacations.com, expedia.com) and check the price of the the week that you want to go and stay (or pick a random date if it is too far). 3.1 Fits your budget? then, come back to bestdestinationwedding.com and check the reviews. 3.2 Not fitting your budget? Go back to #2 and try another hotel 4. Read the reviews thoroughly. Priceless tips are all here. It seems to take a long time, but I believe reading & researching saves time & money at the end. 5. Like it? Visit the hotel's website and check the price for the wedding package. You may buy the wedding package first by contacting the hotel directly, or via the hotel's website. Mine (The Royal Playa del Carmen) reserved the date & time automatically as I deposit money online. Different hotels have different policies & package prices. Still like it? Make a reservation as soon as possible. This is how I started. Good luck!
  9. You can always check tripadvisor.com, review the photos, and contact local/online travel agencies. That's how I started. Good luck!
  10. Holymoly. What I wrote all disappeared. What I said was, that she takes good photos for sure, but different photographers have different style (obviously). For me, her photos are too hazy and misty. Some people enjoy them as they feel like 'good-old-memories' and they do feel lovely. However, I prefer brilliant colours, clear edges but still warm. Also, be aware some photographers who edit their photos by photoshop. Many photographers put photos on their portfolios with post-edited photos. For example, out-focusing (blurred backgrounds) are often 'created' by photoshop, not taken by the expensive equipment, which I don't appreciate. It means they are not trained well enough for the money paid. I believe a good photographer should be able to take photos with the right angle/colour/feeling/cut/focus/etc. and that they don't have to edit them afterward. Finding a good photographer/videographer who also fit in your budget and your taste. Anyway. Good luck!
  11. HI all! I'm also a newbie here. Still have a lot of things to figure out, from the dress to the invitations, air schedules, guests, I think it will be one of the most busiest time of my life, but I will see. Hope you all have a great journey!
  12. Hi! She takes good photos for sure, but they are too vintage for me. Notice the haziness. Some may like it as they seem like an 'beautiful-old-memories', but personally I like brilliant colours. Brilliant, clear but still warm. Also, realimagephotos.net does not seem to photoshop their photos, but many photographers 'edit' them afterward (ie, out-focusing or hand blurring the background) by photoshop. I believe good photogrphers should be able to take photos with the right colour/angle/brightness/etc. It requires lots of research to find a good one that also fit your budget. Anyway. That was my opinion. Good luck!
