  1. So glad I found this thread! You ladies are amazing!
  2. I was looking for a thread on this but couldn't find one: Noob posts being held for a moderator to look at, how long does a mod take to review it and "release" it so it shows up in a thread?
  3. Good point AquaCait! I was going to mention Dollarama too. Every time I go in there I see more and more national/brand name items. Great prices for the consumers!
  4. Great idea! I just typed in my email and am waiting for them to send me an "invite" so I can get started. I too have hundreds of bookmarked links.
  5. I would pay for everyone's stay at a really high end resort and also pay for the guests to go on excursions and do things they will remember for ever when they think of our wedding
  6. Hey all, so I'm starting to narrow down my dress style and have had a fewchats via DHgate with various sellers already mentioned in this thread and thought it'd be helpful if I post this link with info on Public Holidays in China so you have an idea of windows of time where the dress makers may be closing up shop to celebrate festivities and such. http://www.travelchinaguide.com/essential/holidays/calendar.htm Note that even though the chart says a holiday si "1 day" or "3 day" realize that many workers who work in larger cities or metro areas travel back to their smaller home towns/villages and so dressmaker's holiday closure may be more than "1 day" Just something to keep in mind regarding timelines. When it doubt, I would just ask the seller if there are any upcoming holidays and how long the shop/factory is closed. Better to know than not know and be freaking out and worried. I sure hope my dress buying experience goes well when I finally decide which style and seller to go with!
  7. Yeah that includes keeping the typing and peeling and nail denting activities far far away, haha
  8. My friend is the same...she uses Moroccan oil too... have you tried checking the boards/forums on www.makeupalley.com? Great resource!
  9. I've had my underarms done and currently doing the brazillian. I purchased Groupons/Livingsocial vouchers but find that the spa I go to may not be providing the best service because I've gone for 6 treatments for my underarms this year and I still have hair growth. I read on the internet the appointment intervals should be 6-8 weeks but this place brought me in every 4 weeks. As long as I'm not paying full price for laser, then I'm not terribly unhappy, it's just costing me gas and time away from work for those appointments.
  10. That's totally what my cousin did for her DW. We went to Coco Bongo and she got VIP tickets for us. All the adults/parents/etc stayed at the resort and hung out or went to bed early. Haha
  11. You're awesome for sharing these resources! I am actually wondering if there is a wedding planning Gantt chart tempate on the internet somewhere, lol
  12. I personally don't want my FI seeing my wedding dress before the wedding day but it all depends on the relationship of the bride & groom. If it's important he be part of the special decision making process, then definitely go for it and enjoy that special moment - it's all part of the wedding planning process and once in a lifetime thing!
  13. I think the honeymoon registry is a great idea! That and we would prefer monetary gifts too... still trying to find some good wording but so far BDW brides have shared a few awesome ones!
  14. I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I will hope for you that everything works out in the end
  15. Beautiful dress rawalter! Can you kindly remind us which design this dress is and who the seller is?
  16. Great job on the bags! And so sweet of you to throw in a Valentine's gift too. I'm sure they enjoyed it!!
  17. Sorry I personally haven't seen any wipes before but I have seen small travel sized OFF! Bug Repellant spray but those run for around +$2 at Walmart. They are found in the travel toiletry section year round. Or in the summer then they'd also be where the other bug repellant stuff are. Maybe you can check online drugstores like Well.ca? I think they do free shipping...
  18. Thanks for sharing that website! I see some interesting things on there for us! Sorry to hear about the size though
  19. Hmm... maybe try the website DHgate.com ? A lot of brides who have decided to purchase custom made or knock of wedding gowns are ordering from manufacturers in China. This website sells tons of things besides wedding gowns but a lot of knick knacks and I'm sure you may find the beach bag towel on there. I'd do a general Google search too and see if they give you any other wholesale type websites. Good luck!
  20. Here in Canada we have Dollarama and they sell some brand name items for only $1 or $2 like travel size Tylenol and SPF 30 Chapstick brand lip balm. I am definitely hitting up various dollar stores for items! The Dollar Giant in Canada is great too but all their items are $1.25 or more whereas Dollarama most things are still $1.
  21. I love those fold-able bags! They are reusable too so that makes it a perfect souvenir from your wedding!
