I agree there are so many forums to go crazy on... I really just wishes I had the time... I'm def. going to get going with a welcome booklet as well... this one looks wonderful! I'm going to try and get creative... with a 2013 wedding I have some time happy planning!

I also started working on my wedding website... it's looking better and better every day! I am thinking of sending save the dates this Oct. I did something simple its a postcard with only the month, year, location and our website info all on the sand with a starfish... not the actual wedding day or the resort as all that is still in the works... but I want to allow my guests as much time as possible to plan. I will then send an official one when we book the resort. I was able to buy 300 postcards at www.postcards.com for $42.15 with shipping included - and that's with 2-sided printing because I included our address on the back side of the postcard... this is under .15 a pc... they only sell in increments of 100, 300, 500+ but it looks really nice and I can't wait to get feedback I'll try my best to upload a pic for you girls to see... xo

Hi Ladies, This is also my resort of preference... I am a 2013 bride to be... so I do have some time. But there are several Barcelo resorts - if anyone has information on Barcelo Bavaro Palace please post as no one is giving us 2013 brides priority... being that it's still a "long time from now" for many. Hey Vav! I'm sure you're right... I'll see what my budget allows... I would love to go and visit but I think I may want to use that $ towards the wedding... I've been to Dreams Punta Cana & Riu Palace Punta Cana - I love the area... and I'm pretty sure they are all slightly similar but we'll see thanks for the advice. Eva

Hi Ladies, I fell in love with this dress the minute I saw it... I really thought it was the dress... I had only seen it online and on the magazine - A few weeks ago I saw the actual dress in what would be my size and I did not have the WOW effect I was hoping to have... Although I have to say I have not tried it on... I just always thought I would know which dress would be for me once I saw it... I just did not feel it with this dress... So my advice is to look around and have a few options... go try on the dress and hopefully you'll know just by looking at it Good luck!

Thanks ladies!! @vav11238 - I think I have some time being that we want to get married July of 2013... so I'm going to wait until about January 2012 and see what offers the resorts can give us - then we'll decide from there. I did not think it would be this difficult to get this going... I feel that once we book the resort everything else will fall into place so I'm looking forward to that! As of right now the colors are Yellow and Tangerine... little splash of green here and there... for the fauna

Hi Ladies! I'm in the same boat... I want a resort that's affordable to all my guests - and one that will allow me to have a beautiful wedding as well. I am a 2013 bride and I felt that starting my research now will allow my guests to start saving etc...BUT it's close to impossible for resorts to give us prices for 2013... every price they give us is tentative... not to mention SUPER high... for example Barcelo Bavaro Palace is quoting me $633 for 3 days based on double occupancy... $1023 for 3 days on singles... and this is land only - by the time they book air it's well over $1200. DLR gave us the best prices so far at $132 p/night based on a 3 night min. and children would pay $55 p/night. Only problem here is that flights to La Romana are not as frequent as those anywhere else in the Dominican Republic - and flying into another airport only means having to arrange approximately 2hr transportaion to all the guests - many of whom will travel with children - and I can't imagine 3+ hours of air travel plus another 2 hours by car... So DLR is no longer my 1st choice... I'm sure most of my guests will want to make this a vacation too so they will plan on staying more than 3 nights. I will gladly post any additional pricing I receive from any other resorts - I hope you guys all do the same Good Luck! xoxo

I'm looking into a nice Orangy - Tangerine with Yellow myself I'm looking into this resort as well... although my wedding isn't until 2013 I want to get started NOW... lol has anyone received a quote for land prices? what are they like? for guests staying 4 nights etc... also do they have any deals for children? just curious... I'm waiting on my TA to get back to me for the prices although I know with it being a 2013 wedding chances are they will not confirm anything. thanks in advance for your time and help! Dania & Bebe, thanks for all the great details! I am waiting to hear back from Barcelo Bavaro Palace... not sure how much different it is... But as far as the ambiance at Barcelo Punta Cana, how is it? is it a party resort? my guests love having fun, dancing and partying till the wee hours of the night or morning... lol Maybe I need to consider this resort too... Hey Bride2be13, It's great to see how much you've accomplished I am also a 2013 bride and I think exactly the way you do... the more notice I can give my guests the better it will be for us all I'm still debating on which resort... but hopefully we'll know in the next month or so. I wanted to tell you that I LOVE the whole map thing you have on the boarding pass envelope... I would LOVE to do the same... how did you get the art? Would you be able to send me the file? I'll alter it to mark w/e resort we end up choosing... I'm debating with my whole invites/std's I don't know with which to go... I've decided on the colors... so that's going to help us narrow things down but I wanted a theme as well... not sea shells as my sister used that theme last year for her wedding. She got married at the RIU Palace, Punta Cana. Also about arranging a trip for your guests I think it's something all brides should do for their guests as a token of their appreciation for making it all the way out there. My sister rented 2 yatchs and had her group (ttl 104ppl) go on sort of liek a party boat where we snorkled had snacks and drinks for about 4 hrs... it was AWESOME!! And she only paid $20 p/p. But she worked all this out the first day she got to the resort... she went to the beach and asked around for pricing... the resorts prices were more than doubled!!!! I'm sure you'll find a great deal! I plan to do the same Cheers!

Hi Ladies! Congratulations to all!! I am also looking into the Barcelo Bavaro Palace... My wedding is not until July of 2013 but I'm an early planner... I love the whole beach/bonfire idea... my fiance really likes this... he thinks it would tie into the whole "destination" theme... I have heard nothing but great reviews from El Tronco florist... can someone please email me their # - [email protected] - I hope this forum keeps on growing... we are all desperate for info thank you!!!
