Thank you bride2b2013, Funny my future mother in law just got back from DR... She went to a wedding at the Majestic Colonial! They said they had a blast! That they had dinner at one of the restaurants and then took the party outside... were they danced under the rain but made the best of it... by the end of the night they all jumped in the pool lol She said the food was great... they had Mar y Tierra a la carte and the rest was part of the resort being all inclusive... the bride did not pay for one of the better wedding packages, she was just able to put it all together which I did not know was possible... I'm looking into Dreams... Dreams Punta Cana was the first resort my fiance and I ever vacationed at and like you I think it would be ideal to get married at a place with so much significance for us I'll try and post all my findings and share as much as I can with you all! As far as booking I was told I can book by Dec 1st for 2013... they'll even hold the price as chances are it will go up by then. Call them up and hustle... see what they can do for you... good luck! keep us posted! ciao!

Congratulations ladies!!! I'm also a 2013 bride as of right now looks like July for us We thought we had decided on DLR but bc there aren't many direct flights there from NYC I am reconsidering... Not too many ppl want to take the 2hr drive from Santo Domingo to La Romana especially if they are traveling with kids... so I've started to look at other places... it's just sooo much more difficult than it seems - we want to make everyone happy but more so we all want the perfect destination wedding resort... I also looked into www.diamondorchidweddings.com it's an island off of Conzumel & Cancun... many goods reviews on trip advisor... but for now i'm going to keep on looking... if any of you have any recommendations please post I'm very excited to be part of this forum... it's going to be a great planning tool I'll be sure to post everything I come across to share with you all! Congratulations 2013 brides!!! I am a 2013 bride too... I can't seem to decide on a place... I first thought about Dreams La Romana but with limited flights going there from NYC its not convenient for everyone... so I have started considering new places... Any advice ladies?? thanks much!! xo

Hi Ladies! I'm so excited to have come across this forum... it's like god send! You ladies are great! I hope I can provide useful information as much and as good as you all have. I have been engaged for almost 3 months now... and from day 1 I knew it would be Dreams La Romana for me! I still feel that way and hope I don't gravitate elsewhere... We plan to marry July 2013... not 100% sure yet of the actual date... I know 2013 sounds far for many ppl but it will be here before we know it... The more time the better we can plan and look/shop around for options. In looking at the package and all their additional stuff like chairs etc... it's def going to add up really quick! So if you ladies come across any vendors outside of the resort please post their information this way we can all reach out to them and see what we can work out... I think $8USD a chair is quite pricey ... specially when you might have 100ppl at the wedding... I was curious if any of you have inquired about the ballroom? I have read on their site that if you have an outdoor wedding reception and it's raining you can switch it to the ballroom? How is that? any pictures? is there an extra charge? Also if you are allowing kids to attend the wedding has the resort given you a deal? like kids under 12 stay & eat free? Just wondering as I have 2 of my own and many ppl in our families do too. xoxo! EVA1LOVE
