Hey beachbride, Have you checked to see if you can hire an outside Pastor/Minister? If so Pastor York was great in getting back to me with a day or two, let me know if he was available and then booked, with no deposit. His cost is 350.00 and the whatever the resort fee for outside vendors would be if they allow it. Let me know if you would like his information...

The dress style definitely is similar, and I think you are right it is your day and you should be able to say what goes! Too be honest I think that dress would be more suitable for younger woman, and I say that because I am a mother of a child old enough to get married! I would want to wear something shorter, cooler and definitely more sophisticated for myself. But that is just my opinion....

Definitely pick what you want, it's your wedding!! I chose fuschia and orange and am going to add maybe a little bit of sage in the flowers...

mrstgun...you amaze me every time I see your DIY projects. I never even no where to start and have so many things running through my head, I am not sure I will ever get it all together...I can't wait to see more and to see your pics after your wedding....It is going to be stunning...

Funny, cause the first dress is my favorite but I am having a hard time finding it around here...and the girls want to be able to try it on...However I am hoping maybe I might even be able to find a similar pattern and make them, well not me of course I can't sew...but one of my MOH's can and she is good!!! So we will see....As far as the resort I am not sure if they will let me alter it, I am going to ask though, now that you mentioned it... As far as decorations I am going to keep them to a minimum. We are not having a private reception because we most likely will only have about 15-20 people. We will have one long table with us at the head of it. I was thinking about a runner down the center of the table, not sure of a color yet, maybe use like a bamboo runner. Then I actually bought for bottles. 2 in orange, 2 in fuschia and the had a small flip flop that hangs from the top. We are going to put sand and shells inside them and the just a couple gerber daisys...I wanted to alternate some kind of decoration with a candle or tealight in it. I think that will be about all I need. PLus we will have the chair sashes from the wedding to put on the chairs as well... What about you...what are you planning on doing/

I understand the family thing, we have also had some negativity but we decided that the ones that want to be there will and the rest well that is their choice. But at least my parents are supportive and they will be there. I feel bad for my FI though because most likely there will be no one from his side. I am hoping that at least one of his friends comes, but not even sure about that. It's so disappointing to him, but he prepared himself for the NO's...I know that no matter what this day is our day and it will be about what we want! I am just thankful that my two best friends will be there and both will be my MOH's. The three of us have been friends for 33 years, and we have been through everything together. I would be more upset if one of them was unable to make it!! Are plans are good. We have the resort booked and we will be staying there for 8 nights and then we will be goimg to another resort for 7 more nights. Same area... Since we both have been married before me for over 17 years and had the traditional wedding, we both wanted a beach wedding. We love to travel and love the tropics..so it just made sense that we have a DW wedding.. Have you looked at or bought a dress yet? I have already done that..so the one I loved online and looked no further....No just taking a look to get an idea of what I want the two girls to wear...but have plenty of time for that.... Keep in touch, I love hearing about the planning......

Jwed12..I think your bouquet is absolutely beautiful and I agree with Aruba Bride I don't think it will look stupid for the girls ro carry just tiger lilleys

It amazes me how we as brides are considered selfish when we are having the wedding we want. Isn't that what it's supposed to be about, what the bride and groom want? Not what family wants. We are also paying for our wedding and in no way am I going to let any of the negativity I have been getting get me down!! It's hard but I am standing my ground on this......I have decided that I am not letting anyone ruin this for me, it's mine and my FI day and like someone stated before, the ones that want to be there will and the ones that don't well that's there problem. Plus they will be the ones to regret getting to be a part of something so wonderful.

I don't think it's tacky and if you are on a budget, I know my girlfriends would understand no matter what I did....By the way the dresses are awesome, I am one that never seems to come across a good deal like that....I look and look and nothing...although I don't have a lot of options unless I travel at least 1 hr away or more...

RMBride2B- the colors will be orange and fuschia but here are a few dresses I have been looking at. The bouquet is the one that comes with my package but I am really thinking I want real touch flowers with mostly white and a little bit of orange and fuschia..I am even thinking about having dresses made for the girls because one of my MOH sews and it really goos at it....give me your opinion By the way I love your BM flowers and the dress as well....
