I am still REALLY torn on the reception ideas. I have asked my WC and they will NOT exchange the rehearsal dinner for reception - kinda dorky to me since they seem interchangable to me but they look at it in $.

I know that you will have exchange privileges to both Beaches Sandy Bay and Negril. I would think they can come over with the kiddos but they would have to only be at ceremony & reception but I know your WC could answer that for sure.

I've heard from my travel agent that they are beautiful but maybe you could ask to be put on a waitlist for the 4pm cuz she has also said that they photographer can usually wait around for this ceremony time to take post ceremony sunset photos (God I hope so cuz that's what I am counting on!!!!!!).

Curious myself - its kinda pricey but I think it could be a blast!

Well - I have enough booked to get the free rehearsal dinner but haven't actually inquired about it until last wk. Chloe is out of the office but when I hear something I will let you know. I get married 1-4-12 so I can for sure get back to you by then - lol.

So sorry for the delay in responding! I am going with free 30min reception at this point cuz I just cant decide!! I HATE to pay for a reception/dinner when we can all probably go to an onsite restaurant, hang out in a common area/bar on site or go to local bar. I am not much for the formality of it all and we have enough rooms booked to get the "free" rehearsal dinner so I am just gonna enjoy that! I am doing BB ceremony/reception w/ the addition of the $250 solo steel drum player for 1hr, addl 2 dozen cupcakes and make-up application. My friend is going to do my hair - they want to charge like $250 for that - CRAZY! I am also having an artificial bouquet made here and taking to Jamaica so that my daughter can carry my BB bouquet as bridesmaids bouquet (I couldnt see spending $100 for couple sprigs of flowers when the provided bouquet and other items are not what I really want). My friend is a travel agent and visited this resort and said the staff is absolutely the best! so I look forward to some good treatment! I am also NOT going to pre-purchase a photo package so that I can actually see them before buying them before I leave resort. My TA's last clients got theirs and they were great but I am kinda nervous about pre-purchasing such a large ticket item that could go to sh** pretty easily. If you have any other ?'s let me know; I will do my best to be more attentive to my posts - lol.

I am 6mos from my wedding and get more excited every month. I am still him-hawing over invitations and OOT bag contents! UGH. Other than that all is well. I havent spoke to Chloe in a while - not much to discuss-lol. I am not adding a lot of accessories to my BB wedding ceremony or reception. I have enough friends and rooms booked to get the "free" rehearsal dinner thats exciting. I am sure my head will start to spin in the next couple months worrying about these things! I know Chloe has been out for about a wk but she is a great email corresponder which is my preference.

I ordered something very similar off theknot website and had "Jamaica" embroidered on them. I too think this is a great idea not only because they will be easy for us to take TO Jamaica but they can be used for so long after everyone returns home.

I actually found my GM shirt this past weekend at a Steinmart Dept Store. It is very similar to a Tommy Bahama shirt but for $35.

I got my portion of the pen order this weekend eholt - the pens are HUGE - I was cracking up! They are funny and I think my guests will think they are hilarious too. Atleast we got a laugh out og the whole deal! Thanks again for doing the leg work on our order!

I have struggled with this same subject. Some friends have suggested a gift card shower or registry but that seems slightly tacky to me.....as you are essentially just asking them to hand over money. My TA though is going to set me up a small website that will include a registry for things related to our weddingmoon. I think this is great. People can purchase spa services for us, recreational trips, flowers or champagne to the room, candelight dinner, etc; when in all actuality the company that supports the "website" sends us a check just before departure for 1/2 the funds accumulated for us to spend how we like on our trip and then when we get home the other 1/2 of the money is sent to us (nice!! post relief funds - lol). I am sure there are sites that you can google if you dont have a TA or maybe your resort has something similar. I will probably do a small registry at Target or Bed Bath & Beyond for the ole traditionalists.

"eholt" and I just ordered like Monday and she rec'd the package today!!! I am still on the hunt for some Jamaican type luggage tag ideas.......if any of you have any I would love to see them. I have been on the prowl for some liquor flavored lollipops for a reception favor too - I think that might be fun; and maybe some fun straws for drinks like glow in dark or something since those will be easier to travel with than cups and I am hitting dead ends on the cups ideas.

I too am doing the postcards to be sent back home; do you know if they will use standard $.28 postage to be sent from Negril itself? Where are you getting married and staying in Negril? I will be at Beaches SB in Jan!!!!! I cant wait......

I would love to see your Jamaica leather friend bracelets. Where did you get these and where did you get your cups? Also on Etsy they have a metal bracelet that has Bob Marley sayings on them or you can get them that say - future Mrs. xxxx. They are pretty neat.

Ok so my local Wal-Mart had little battery operated handheld fans for $.75 today - they had blue, red, dark pink and mint green. I bought 20 and will probably go back for at least 10 more. OMG! I have been looking for a post with tips for Jamaica OOT bags. I am Jan '12 bride. I got black bags from The Knot site and had Jamaica embroidered on them. So far I got a set of small shower gel, lotion and sanitizer from Pier 1 last weekend on a great sale annnndd thats it so far. Ugh. I too am thinking of insulated cups so we can get two small (free) drinks from all inclusive resort bar and pour them into one glass. Been checking out lip balm, usual survival bag stuff, putting postage paid/self-addressed Jamaican postcards in for friends to sign/msg on and mail back to us. I also found some red, yellow, green Carribean scented tea light candles on Etsy that I will order and put in bag w/ some personalized matches. I am going to have personalized temporary tattoos made for wedding favors. Something fun for a design but I havent quite decided yet. I am concerned about getting stuff down to Jamaica. I would love to do towels but they are bulky. Slippers - dont know everyones size. Bottled water - heavy, bulky. How are you getting all of this down there? I want my bags to have something nice in them to reiterate our Thank You for them traveling to be with us.....just havent found the right thing just yet! I have at least 25 bags to make.
