  1. Now THIS is an original DIY idea! Good job - havent seen this one yet.....might have to use it!
  2. I wonder the same thing. I think its a good idea to list names, relationship to bride/groom and their arrival/departure dates at least for getting to know the group a little before actually meeting people; kind of an ice-breaker of info for when they actually meet in person. Not so much for what room they are in.
  3. I like this idea but my real question is did/does anyone really use these? I would rather add another useful item to the OOT bag if these typically go by the way-side.
  4. I am having such a small wedding party and WC says ceremony will only last 10-15mins so I figure....why bother! I have enough other DIY stuff to do - lol!
  5. Great ideas! Which did you finally decide on and how the heck are you getting all that stuff for them to your resort?
  6. These ROCK! I have become a HUGE fan of Vistaprint - especially with their current clearance sale! Got t-shirts for the kiddo's and totes for my special thank you/OOT bags!
  7. Love these. I am wanting to do the pic of us w/ the thank you signs - fiance owns a sign shop so I can hopefully get HIM to make those - lol!
  8. I forgot that I was going to make some of these too. I have seen them on etsy but they seem simple enough to make and know I have the pat on the back from you ladies proving it! Thanks
  9. Tori you rocked it again. I am loving what you did for me. If you dont mind, when I get myself more organized, I will probably hit you up for some help on those labels & such (girl, I cant figure out how to change the stinkin colors on the ones you sent me!). LMAO
  10. I spoke w my WC today and she said the menu list in the welcome packet is for reception. The rehearsal dinner has different options and you actually meet w the chef when you arrive to the resort to plan the rehearsal dinner menu. CAVEAT - Maybe this is just at my smaller Beaches Sandy Bay resort. Also she told me that you get two entree choices and they do make exceptions for children & vegetarians.
  11. Chloe ROCKS!!! She is so nice and the coolest thing is that she will even call you. I emailed her about 15 questions today and she CALLED me to answer my questions. I got the low down on receptions & the "free" rehearsal dinner w/ 12 bookings. I met with a recent Beaches SB bride and saw her "digital" photo book. It was so cool. She said it took FOREVER to get but it was really neat. She said she had like 3 Beaches photographers all day and Nicholas seemed to take the best pics. She said the resort was nice and quaint and she stayed at Sandals Negril after ceremony and actually preferred Beaches SB! She said the beach is WAY nicer than over at Sandals and there is no pushing and shoving for beach chairs and the beach was never crowded like at Sandals. I have 6months to go and I am so flippin excited!!!
  12. There is a forum thread on this site that will help tons too: destination weddings in caribbean and then there is a Sandals thread. I am going with the beautiful beginnings - the resort does not allow outside vendors so they really stick it to you on the add-ons and photography but it is all inclusive and they do all the work for you so who can beat that. When you make your reservation they will send you all sorts of stuff with options. I have a "packet" with some options and prices - PM me your email and I will get it to you as soon as I can. I also have some pics from my travel agent from her recent tour of both Beaches Sandy Bay and Beaches Negril.
  13. I hope this isnt too upsetting but you do know that you can NOT bring vendors onto the Beaches property right? Its their way of keeping their money in their pockets. Depending on how many people you have you can try to make reservations at one of the Beaches SB or Negril resort restaurants for the "reception dinner"; you wont be able to personalize the room or tables though. I can tell you that the staff at SB is typically very accommodating since they are at a "smaller" resort but I am sure they wont be able to pull a ton of strings for personalization. You can apparently bring an ipod and they have a ipod station to put it on; I am "splurging" on the ONE steel drum player for $250/hr instead of the steel drum band. I am going to try and talk to my WC to see if I can swing just getting a bar set up and some tables for a cheaper price and skip the meal part so we can drink and all go to a later dinner together at one of the "free" on site restaurants.
  14. What a fantastic idea to put dish soap in the test tube inside of the mugs!!!!!!!!!!
  15. I haven't heard any more either but I have an email in to my WC (although she is out of the office currently). I agree, at least give us a list of WHAT is available as an add-on and let us ask for the ridiculous price quote for the item if we are interested (lol). I know that your initial packet upon signing up has some of the add-ons listed w/ prices in your "welcome packet". They quote a steel drum band but you can get ONE steel drum player for $250/hr!! I will let you know if I hear any more!
  16. My TA has been to all of these. Turks & Caicos is of course beautiful (& pricier). Not sure what your budget is - the add-ons certainly add-UP. I have booked Beaches Sandy Bay in Negril because it is smaller and less catering to "children" (no water park). It is of course not as fancily decorated as Beaches Negril but it is a little cheaper, smaller and more intimate. I have pics from my TA of both - PM me your email address if your interested in seeing these. Families can stay at either of these Beaches resorts and can take the free Beaches shuttle every 1/2 hour between the two resorts (=more restaurant, bar & entertainment options). Don't forget to have your TA set up a registration for your "weddingmoon" so that people can buy you add-ons if you dont need the typical wedding registration/items.
