Show us your wedding dress!
mochamakes3 replied to Jennifer's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Brandy, I definitely will. I think I have the same problem as you that I just tried on too many and don't know what I want. I've been waiting for that special "this is dress I will be married in" feeling and nothing has stood out. I only picked this dress because it had the things I wanted, and I was worried I would end up with nothing to wear. -
My dress took just over a week to get to Ontario from China. The one thing you have to know is that they may have generated the shipping documents but not shipped yet. So just track it. I had pictures before it was sent and I still felt like a little kid on Christmas because you can't really tell much from the picture and even then it's hard until you actually try it on.

Show us your wedding dress!

I'm picking up my dress from the seamstress tonight. I'm still not sure it's the one... maybe I will take some pictures tonight and get everyone's opinion. I like it, just not sure if I love it. -
Anyone use freeze dried petals for the aisle

Flyboynaturals is having a great sale right now. I ordered mine today for 50% off. Everything is 50% off (even the sale ones) with the promo code: fbtake50 I was going to buy the clearance ones, but figured with the 50% off I could buy the premium ones and not worry about the quality. -

If you are really interested in a "knock-off" dress, I recommend reading the entire thread on knock-off dresses. It's over 200 pages of really useful info and advice. The dress you chose is fairly simple in design and you could probably have it made for less. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/36700/post-all-knock-off-wedding-dress-questions-comments-here/2060 I ordered three dresses from Monica Bridal, a vendor from dhgate.com and am pleased with the quality. I was going to order from lightinthebox until I found and read the other thread. -
I just sent an email to our WC to confirm that we would receive the increased resort credit. The travel dates are December 1, 2010 to December 23, 2011 so I don't see why we wouldn't be eligible. Otherwise, we could just cancel and rebook? It would be great to receive the extra money, then we could afford the videographer without extra costs! I will post her response once I receive it.

We're giving FI's parents their tickets as Christmas gifts so it is a great gift idea!

Personally, I would not want to have to pay $1K plus for winter tires. I think it has more to do with driving sensibly in poor conditions. I've driven on all seasons and with winter tires and don't see much difference. In my opinion it should be more important to get bad cars off the road. It's always such a pain when you are stuck in traffic and then discover it's all because someone's 15 or 20 year old crappy car broke down in the middle of the highway! Too many people don't take care of their cars and are just causing a road hazard.

Laura - I am so glad that both you and your FI were able to find each other and learn to trust again. It's horrible to find out someone is deceiving you but it is amazing to move on and find true love. Years ago, I found out that the guy I had been with for over a year had another life and a house with another girl. I was glad to be rid of him after I found out, and was glad that I could walk away without losing anything. The other girl is still with him and I know he won't change his ways. I guess I was so wrapped up with my own life I didn't question his lies. Thankfully, I am now with a man that shares his whole life with me and no one else. It's tough to go through, but it's the path that leads us to the "one."

Moon Palace - after your wedding
mochamakes3 replied to shelbygirl's topic in Wedding Music & Entertainment
I think the lobby bar at Sunrise is the biggest. We're having a private reception but plan on heading to Andromeda, the on site disco, afterwards. If you have one of the presidential suites, there's enough room to have some people there too, for something more intimate. It has a full size living room and dining room so you could probably have about 15-20 people no problem. -
I think it depends on the different packages that your resort offers. With 17 people you might be able to just have a private dinner in one of the restaurants. I know at our resort, they suggest 4 songs for the ceremony, guest/bridal party procession, bride procession, signing of certificates and recession. Our wedding is April 22 and our photographers are coming down around that time, too bad yours is the week before or we could have shared. They aren't charging us any extra for travelling down and they did an amazing job for our engagement shots.

Erin - snow tires are only law in Quebec for now, but some of the other provinces are considering them. As for the cheating guys, it is so horrible. I know a guy that always had at least two girlfriends and was lying to both of them. He was living with one and even after she found out he had been doing that for years she still kept him around. I don't understand how you can say you care about someone when you can't even respect them enough to be truthful. It also sucks for the girls that have to get over it and have to learn to trust again. It's makes me feel so happy that my FI and I have found each other.

Congrats and welcome! Sounds like you are doing well with planning and now that you've joined the forum you'll find out how much info the ladies here have to offer. What is your wedding date and which resort? There is always more things you can plan, but don't worry it will all fall into place and be wonderful no matter how much or little you plan.

My advice is to try to get a TA. The ladies that run this site are apparently amazing and have lots of experience working with Palace Resorts. That way you'll have someone to fight your battles There's no benefit to working directly with Palace Resorts. You'll still have to communicate with the WC for your wedding arrangements, but at least you won't have the hassle of travel arrangements too.

Teira - I really hope she figures out a way to attend. I'm sending out our invites tomorrow so I hope we start to hear back that lots of people will be attending. As for you girls with all your snow talk... I've been in Saskatchewan for the last three months and it has snowed almost everyday for the last month! It's horribly cold and the roads are incredibly dangerous. I only like snow when you can still see the grass through it. I would gladly send it your way if I could. Two years ago, we were visiting my sister in Virginia at Christmastime and it was amazing to be able to sit outside. Last year, we drove there in a huge winter storm and everything was shut down because of the snow. Hopefully, this year will be somewhere in between.

I know a lot of times, you can find the Old Navy or even Gap tanks at Giant Tiger for a fraction of the price. The tags have been crossed out but at $5 a piece or less you can't complain! I bought those same transfers and am trying to decide what to put them on. I want to try to find some sort of zip up top to wear on the day of the wedding so that no one messes up their hair and makeup.
