Congrats to you! I was thinking of the DR when I initially thought of a destination, but decided to go with Jamaica. I am getting married at Rose Hall Suites. If you search for Moon Palace in the forums you should be able to find tons of info. This is a really great site!

I chose a Friday because I thought it would be convenient; it's less time people have to take off work or pull kids out of school. Then again with a destination wedding it shouldn't matter as people already take time off for the trip. You pick whatever day you want!

We discussed getting enagaged and possibly married before we had our daughter. We decided against rushing a wedding, but I definitely wanted to get engaged, we had been together almost 5 years. Our baby shower was in Oct 2009 and I was due Nov.9. Needless to say he hadn't mentioned the engagement or discussed anything for months so I kind of gave up on the idea. The day of the baby shower arrives and it was a busy day. The shower was wonderful and so many guest came. Midway during the shower my FI asked if he could have everyones attention; I didn't even think anything of it. I thought he wanted to thank everyone. He got down on one knee and said a beautiful speech, (which I don't remember because I was so nervous) and asked me to marry him. It was so beautiful and everyone was crying. The funniest part of the story is my mom, (I am her only daughter) missed the whole thing! She stepped out to smoke a cigarette. She was so mad, she made him do it again, lol. Good thing my cousin videotaped it! Â
