  1. Cookiemunchkin, Â I actually printed everything at work. We have a pretty good laser printer, and we're allowed to print whatever we'd like...so I did that. Do you know of anyone (or FI) whose job is as flexible as mine? It truly came in handy..
  2. Thanks for sharing the template! Hopefully I will be able to view it before my wedding..(considering I have less than 50 posts).
  3. Great job Janine!! I was thinking about what I'd do for my Welcome Letter to Turks..this looks awesome!!
  4. Hi guys,  I ran across this site--not sure if any of you are trying the Acai Berry diet..but check it out this website  http://www.consumertipsdaily7.com/health/us4.php?t=1239000079
  5. Barrierunner, Â You are SUPER nice! Wow... I'm not sure about which favor to give them, but yes--maybe a slideshow of your wedding photos and your video would be a nice gesture. Hopefully it will soften their hearts. Good luck! Â
  6. Thanks for sharing! I started my binder awhile ago, and it is extremely helpful! My colleauge bought me a Destination Wedding planning book...but I gave it away.
  7. Barefootidos, Â This is something that I found myself struggling with as well. However, I had a friend who was married at the Sandals in Negril, and before the wedding she went to Sephora, MAC and some other place and asked them to do her make-up as if it were her wedding day. She explained that she was having a destination wedding. So all three places showed her how to apply the make-up correctly. Of course she had to purchase some of their products- she practiced for months, and by the time wedding arrived she'd accomplished the task at hand! Â I hope this helps...or gives you some other ideas.
  8. Great find! I will keep my eyes open for something similar!
  9. I personally like the binder much better.. I was able to give it away. Hopefully it'll be useful for that bride!
  10. Hi Ladies,  I have been extremely blessed! So many people have given me all types of things for my wedding. My supervisor actually purchased this wedding planning book for me… I’ve tried to utilize it, but it was much easier to just use a binder.  With that said, if you want this planner please PM me. I will be more than happy to send it to you for free.. BUT I have to warn you that I did write in the book slightly (from the excitement when I received it), but if you’re okay with blotting out the few things that I’ve written— it’s all yours.  (It weighs less than 1lb, so don’t worry about the shipping cost.)
  11. Unfortunately, it's not a direct flight. If we fly with AA, we'll have to connect in Miami. If we fly Delta, we'll have to connect in Atlanta. If we fly US Airways, we'll have to connect in Charlotte, NC. It's actually okay though. I've gotten use to seeing the $696 flight on all of the airlines websites...
  12. Raazzy-- if you decide to get weave sewn into your hair and you go swimming before the wedding, just be sure to plait your hair before you get into the water. It will keep your hair from swelling. Also, I'd put some type of conditioner on my hair before plaiting it. This will help it from getting tangled while in the water. Once you're out of the water, wash and style your hair as your normally would. Â I hope this helps!
  13. Yes ma'am Brandy! $696 to be exact. Earlier this year it was $737. I'm on Kayak.com weekly to see if they're any updates on flight costs. Nothing yet!
  14. It's never too late MellieG, so you're fine. The flight from Houston to Turks is about $700 right now on American, Delta and US Airways. My fiance swears that the price is going to decrease in October, so that's when we're going to purchase our flights--maybe he has some type of inside connection he hasn't told me about  I do know that American Airlines doesn't charge you for baggage when traveling internationally- I love that! The other airlines charge (on average) $25 for the first bag, $35 for the second and $100 for the third.  Keep your eye on the prices if you're getting married in December...December- March is the popular season for the Caribbean, and the prices are slightly higher during this time versus the summer months (June-September/October).
  15. Hey MellieG- Welcome to the forum! I'm getting married at Beaches T&C too on March 12, 2011. I've chatted with Michelle-2 and Kendall-- everyone is super helpful on this site! Be sure to read Meagan, Winnie, Kelly1214 and Jerri-Lee's reviews. They were all married at Beaches T&C too. I've copied and pasted all of their reviews into a Word document, and it's now in my wedding planning book. Â The sad part is that I read the reviews biweekly!!!
  16. Hi SonyaR, Like you, I am hungry all of the time too..so I only buy healthy snacks for the house- apples, bananas, grapes, sugar-free jello, etc. Try to keep healthy snacks at your beckon call- it will help you from eating the foods that you're trying to avoid eating. Congrats on your first boot camp also! What a great way to start! Learn all that you can, and continue to incorporate those exercises once the camp has ended.
