  2. Pam - I think altering it into a sweetheart is a great idea! That's the one big thing that I liked more about the Maggie. Keep us in the loop about your alterations! (and I hope we get to see picture afterwards!) Â Natalie - You're back!!! That's fantastic!

  4. Today: 1 hour with my trainer (15 min on treadmill, 45 min full body workout with kettle bells) + 25 min on spin bike (8 miles) Yesterday: 2 hikes! about 4-5 hours of hiking in total
  5. I have some questions about the ACV! Why does it have to be organic? I found some in the grocery store here, the ingredients are just ACV, so I'm not sure why that wouldn't be the same, as nothing's been added to it. And what do you mean by 'the mother' in it - I'm really confused!
  6. Pam - OMG I loooove the Maggie on you! The other dress is beautiful too, but there is just something about the Maggie, it looks stunning on you! But I think it comes down to the one you see yourself wearing, and the one that really makes you giddy inside  Haven't decided whether we're doing mugs yet...won't that take up a ton of room in your luggage? That's the only thing that concerns us...
  7. I would totally be interested in a book club! I'm part of one in 'real life' as well How does that work on here? Like for choosing books and what not? I had no idea there used to be one! That's really cool, count me in!
  8. Picture sent this morning! Â I've been working out a lot (and with a trainer) and I wanted to mention that if you're exercising, please take into account that you're building muscle! That weighs more than fat...so while you're replacing fat with muscle, and building new muscle, it might look like your weight isn't decreasing even though your body will be changing. Â Just something to keep in mind!
  9. An hour at the gym this morning, 12 minutes on the spin bike (4.1 miles) and then about 50 minutes of weights and strength training, full body workout!

  11. Beautiful dress Pam!! I love the ruching I was going to ask you to post photos in the Calgary thread when I saw that you'd bought it  I am definitely in favour of putting in a corset back! Your shape will look amazing! But also, you won't have to stress about everything you eat/drink leading up to the big day. I don't know about you, but I'll be at my resort for 4 days before the wedding and I want to be able to it! lol
  12. Really?? That's awesome! We have him booked already for May 4th. Does that mean we won't have to pay for a day pass for him? Does he come on site for free now? That would be great
  13. One hour at the gym this morning with my new gym buddy (which is so helpful for staying motivated!) We did 10 minutes on the spin bike (3.75 miles) and then 50 minutes of weights/strength/toning/etc exercises.
  14. We didn't even do STDs! I really wanted to, but with the way our quote worked we just didn't have the time. We sent out two group emails with the 'Save the Date' info and the booking info, and we also had a website up and running very early on. I wish we'd been able to do STDs because there are so many great ideas for them! We are spending more on our invites as a result (passports, I will post pics when they arrive!) Â We got people to book early because they kind of had to, lol. Our group rate is amaaaazing (through Westjet, a Canadian airline) but they have to put down deposits by mid-September, and the rest is due in January. We need 10 rooms (20 people - yikes) to get the group rate, so I was a little stressed that it wouldn't happen because people wouldn't want to book commit right now - and then no one would get the great rate. But we have 8 rooms booked, and more that will be booking in the next week or so, so I think we'll be fine. After 10 rooms are booked then I really don't care when/how people book! We gave an RSVP of Jan 31, so it still gives us lots of time to plan knowing the #s.
  15. I haven't read 'The Book of Negroes 'yet, but my book club read 'Any Known Blood' by the same author. It was SO good! I can't wait to read 'The Book of Negroes' now  Has anyone read 'Sarah's Key' by Tatiana De Rosnay? I keep picking it up in Chapters but haven't bought it yet.  I just finished reading 'Icy Sparks' by Gwyn Rubio. OMG. It was soooo good!! It's about a young girl with Tourette's syndrome in the 1950s. I fell in love with this character and it was a heart-wrenching read. So good!
  16. I bought my dress!!! It's the one I fell in love with last month, but then I found a different one I liked, and so this weekend I went and tried on both and made the decision! When I came out in this dress I just knew....it was exactly what I saw myself wearing on the beach! Oh and it's by 'Ella' Â Picture on the left is me last month, and on the right, me this weekend, very happy Â
  17. Missgomes - I would start shopping sooner than that, unless you are definitely planning to buy off the rack. Some stores will sell you anything, and others only carry samples and you will need to order. I actually just bought my dress this past weekend! It's an 'Ella', and it will only arrive in January. That leaves me the suggested 2 months for any alterations that might be necessary, and some extra 'padding' in case anything goes wrong!  It all depends on you, and what you're comfortable with. The dress is the last thing I wanted to be stressing about! Plus it's tons of fun to shop for, why put it off? Lol  Here's my dress:
  18. Congratulations Primavera!! We're wedding triplets along with Mellyrox - all May 4th 2011 Â Things FI and I have recently accomplished: - I bought my wedding dress this weekend!! So exciting I will post a picture from home. - Our passport invites are finally done (we also paid for them to save our sanity, lol), they just need to be delivered to us and then sent out! - We have 13 people booked plus ourselves! We are on our way - finally! Â Â
  19. Spent an hour with my trainer this morning! 10 min run on the treadmill to warm up, then weights and strength training for 50 minutes. Was exhausting, but I feel great now!
  20. I myself have started back with my trainer. I found that really helped kick me into gear earlier this year. He's so motivating, and because I know I have to answer to him each week, I keep going to the gym the rest of the week! I'm seeing him tomorrow morning again, and I've started going to the gym in the mornings, 4-5 times a week. Work has been insanely busy lately, and I'm staying until well past 6, so the gym is the LAST place I want to go after a long day! So mornings it is  Those berry pudding cakes look yummy, and I love trying out new recipes.  I'm really excited about this whole challenge!

  22. cookiemunchkin - Aw that's too bad!! I was looking forward to chatting about how awesome Becky is, lol. Hopefully you can make it next month!  If anyone else can make it who I didn't mention, feel free to drop by Melrose at 6pm tonight! I'm hoping that come fall/winter more people will be able to make it out, it's a lot of fun  See some of you tonight!

  24. Okay, I've made a reservation at Melrose for 5 of us tomorrow at 6pm (Thursday Aug 26). The reservation is under 'Sandy' and it's in the restaurant part of Melrose (not the lounge)  So far it looks like it will be: Lindslou cookiemunchkin sstryker missnatalie18 canadiansandy  Don't forget to bring anything you've bought/been working on (if you want!). I know I, for one, will be bringing my reception shoes which I am totally second-guessing myself on. I definitely need some second opinions, lol.  Can't wait!!
