Hi ladies! I just found this thread, how exciting! We're planning a Spring 2011 wedding in Punta Cana...we've narrowed down hotels but waiting to hear back from our TA before making the final decision. I would love to get together to chat about weddings and planning and all that fun stuff! I live & work downtown so central is great, but I do have a car if there's a trek involved. I'm in for drinks or coffee next week...any preferences/suggestions for locations? Sandy

Hi ladies! I'm so glad I found this thread - we're currently waiting to hear back from our TA about prices for Dreams Palm Beach and Majestic Colonial for April/May 2011. I noticed that many of you are getting 'secretly' married here first, which we're planning to do as well. Just wondering, are you still having a judge perform the ceremony at the hotel or having a symbolic ceremony? Are you concerned about your guests knowing that it's symbolic? We're leaning towards doing a symbolic ceremony and if guests ask we'll be honest. I mean, if we consider that our 'real' wedding it shouldn't matter right? Just wondered what other couples were doing! ~Sandy

Hello! Just wanted to introduce myself - I'm Sandy and I've been engaged for, oh, about 2 days now! We've been talking about having a destination wedding for ages, so registering on BDW was one of the first things I wanted to do! We're thinking about the Caribbean, as our guests are coming from all over Canada & eastern USA. Have no idea which island, or what kind of resort. Lots to figure out!
