  1. hahahaha you´re right, kids do put the biggest stress on a relationship don´t they..... the minute jacob kicks off you can feel the tension in the room escalate..... at least my mum and dad and ants parents have said they´ll have the kids for the three days over the wedding so we can have the night before, the wedding then a couple of days after to ourselves. (just better not come home with a honeymoon baby brewing, that would be the final straw!)  just been looking at boys navy suits but they all look so formal, will prob just leave him in the beige one, it´ll be covered in ketchup within minutes anyway!
  2. so here is my next dilemma.... i´m in ivory, mia is in purple, ants is in a grey/navy and we´d bought jacob a beige linen suit, thinking that was what ants would wear (bloody men!) so now i don´t know whether to put jacob in something dark to match.... but he just looks so cute in his little suit! although as you can prob tell he wasn´t loving wearing it! Â
  3. You just made me feel so much better! Glad it´s not just me....  No pictures of him in the suit, he doesn´t want me to take one, says i´ll be showing all my friends (well durr...) but i may sneak one when he tries it on to get the legs altered!
  4. Morning ladies! Finally managed to get Antony to buy a suit this week, It´s a really dark grey with a pinstripe in it. slimfitting with a waistcoat and a pale lilac shirt..... mmmm i have to say he did look rather gorgeous in it! I never see him suited and booted, he´s always in chef whites or scruffs, think i´ve seen him in a suit about 5 times in nearly 5 years so when i saw him put it on i thought, ding-dong! You´ll do!  Wedding invitations done, my mum posting them for me when she goes back to uk on friday. All of them have the luggage tags and pens in with them, and two sets have travel mugs (they´re to be handed out directly to my mums family.... saving on postage (i´m not tight... honest!)  The rest of the travel mugs will be sent to Sheffield for me, then when i´m back in October i´ll hand them out then.  OMG i have less than 4 months to go. Had a bit of a wobble of late, OH and I work completely opposite shifts so that someone is always home for the kids (mia´s school closes between 12.30 and 3,30 for lunch every day so you have to pick them up) so 7 days a week one of us is working, then i work 4 nights on top of that, needless to say it doesn´t help our relationship, especially with a mardy-arse 2 year old who may as well live on the naughty mat. And we have both been so tired with the long hours and the heat that all we do when we do see each other is snipe and fight- i was starting to think,,,,,, why am i marrying this man, we don´t even like each other! anyway so we´ve rejiggled our shifts so that someone else is looking after mia over lunch, and we get to spend a couple of days a week together, and it turns out i do actually still like him! bonus! I was seriously starting to wonder if it was too late to call the whole thing off. Most upsetting. It´s a shame that work and those pesky kids get in the way!!!!
  5. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH..........  I went for a dress fitting today, for the blue dress that i bought before the "real" one, that i plan on wearing at night. When i bought the first dress, even though it was in size ginormous, the shop owner told me not a problem, we have a seamstress who can take it to pieces and rebuild it to fit you free of charge.... ace, i thought, and can you shorten it, as due to my dwarf like status it´s currently at granny length.... sure no problem. so today i go and the sewing lady sticks the pins in the top.... fine..... then i ask her about taking it up. PROBLEM. "i can´t do that", she says "it´s impossible" sorry? it´s impossible? WTF? then when i asked her about taking up my real dress a few inches, she said it would depend on the fabric as to whether that was "possible" or not. what, so every 5ft 2" bride in the world has to wear stilts for the day ?????  I probably wouldn´t have bought the blue dress in the first place if they´d told me the length couldn´t be altered, now i am on the hunt for someone who can actually do what they say on the f*cking tin.  On the plus side i´ve got two trips back to the uk booked, one for oct, one for nov, so if i´m still struggling i´ll find someone there who hopefully can do it (if i can fit it in with all the shopping and drinking and shopping and drinking)  We are off to a fancy dress charity party where i work tonight. I have got a cowboy outfit, and i thought i´d dress antony and jacob up in red shorts, white t-shirts , fake tashes and draw 118118 on them.... job done!  Â
  6. I´ve just put "I am going to Mexico for Joanna and Antony´s wedding. Please look after my suitcase!" I left the back blank in case they want to write their details on.  Jacob went back to nursery yesterday, Mia goes back to school a week today..... 12 long hot weeks of summer holidays.... I´m hanging on to my sanity by a thread.  Going for a dress fitting tomorrow morning for the night time dress.... had good intentions of eating well today, lasted until we went to the beach for our tea.... does deep fried calamari fit into the weight watchers plan??????????????????
  7. Got the invites from Allurements by Rebecca, found her on here. She was ace although it turned into a bit of a mare getting them through spanish customs. If i was a bit more technically able i'd have used the logo and done something arty myself, but like you, i've got a 2 and 9 year old, 2 jobs, and not even time to go to the toilet for a shit in peace!!!!
  8. ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡FINALLY!!!!!!  I got to pick up my invitations today. Love them, will post a picture
  9. was doing really well this week until went up to stay with a friend yesterday and got shitfaced all day and ate my own body weight in crap. and then had to do the same again today to soak up the hangover! bring on the salads..... ;(
  10. Bloody hell roo, enough drama before your wedding?!?! love your planning threads, gorgeous dress. Have a fantastic time.xx
  11. Well done! weigh-in day not til sat for me.... going out on the lash on friday tho, so saturday will be junk food to lose the hangover! ah well, you only live once!  Been to pay the importation tax.... 41€.... ah well, it´s done now, hopefully madrid will finally send them down to me....
  12. What an ace MIL you have nicy. And your mum too Michelle. My mum has paid for the holiday and my dress(es), and has said "our pockets are not closed, but try and manage the rest yourselves!!!!" We had future in laws out for a week last week and OH changed up their ££´s into €, the english money is going straight into my account for wedding stuff.... should be there later today for a spot more shopping!  I´m off to the post office to sort out the bank transfer for the importation tax on my invitations, hopefully it´s not more than the actual invites themselves, that is one expensive lesson learned, will not be ordering anything from the states again in a hurry!  my replacement t-shirt arrived from vistaprint yesterday, fits properly, all free.... good customer service or what!  It is a much cooler 33º today, although to be fair it´s still only 9.30am....  Have a nice day ladies!
  13. The Angels Game by Zafón just arrived from Amazon yesterday, going to dive into it tonight!.... well, it´s already 2am here... but what´s another half an hour! Thanks to whoever recommended it. X
  14. I booked the wedding package direct with the hotel because thomson´s couldn´t have been any less helpful on the phone, and took about 3 weeks to get back to me by email. and at least this way i have my confirmation email from the WC herself. It´s only a 250$ deposit i´d lose if we cancelled, so i can live with that. As for the holiday, we booked over the phone with Thomsons, took the ta´s name and number and passed it on to all our friends and family, we´ve got one group booking ref, and individual ones as part of it, so everyone is responsible for their own payments, but the ta knows we´re all a big group and the more that add on the bigger the disccount. most people have gone through the ta, but a few have done it themselves cos it´s worked out cheaper for them....
  15. I´m giving out the luggage tags and thermal mugs with the invitations, hopefully in october. There´s no way i´ll be able to lug everything to mexico, so when i next come back to uk i´m going to box it all up nicely and post/hand it out. (save a fortune on postage from spain too..... not tight, honestly!)  the music.... going to take a cd for the actual ceremony part, then just take an ipod and speakers for the dinner bit.  omg i am baking today, 37º in the shade..... roll on september.
  16. 1/2K nice swim yesterday to stretch out my shredded muscles, back on it today tho, 30day shred here i come....
