  1. We´re going to the Riu Tequila, it looks like great value for money. My biggest gripe is that my best friend who has always said that wild horses wouldn´t keep her away from my wedding, wherever it is, has now gone very very quiet on the subject, having said she´s very unlikely to make it. i understand why she can´t come, just not why she´s now avoiding me! My FI´s best mate has given us a variety of excuses.... his girlfriend can´t get time off work being the main one, lack of finances etc (although they have a brand new car sitting on the drive and no mortgage!) but really i know that he could come if he wanted to, and stay with some other single guys, and mainly, he´s not coming cos his girlfriend says no. nice. to be honest, i´m quite glad she´s not coming, shame about him tho!
  2. Hi celina, we have done the opposite and booked the cheapest we could find so that as many of our friends and family as possible can come, (even though i wanted to go somewhere totally lush and spoil myself rotten!) it still backfired on us as my godparents don´t want to go somewhere not up to their 12star standard, and loads of our friends STILL aren´t coming! Don´t get me wrong, we´re doing this cos it´s what we want to do, our immediate family and some friends will be there, and i know we´ll have a great time. it´s just when people swear they´ll come, and then make crap excuses, or worse, no excuses and then avoid you! oops, sorry , my rant went off in a different direction, anyway i just wanted to let you know i feel your frustration!!!!! jo
  3. Hiya Mrs P! We booked the hotel and flight with thomson, but booked the wedding direct with riu through gabriela. since we confirmed about a month ago, i´ve had no contact with anyone. i´ve a friend on facebook who got married at the tequila who booked the whole thing through thomson, and she didn´t need any extra document at all. (incidentally do you know what a hague apostile is?) neither of us have been married before or changed our names, so i´m hoping it will be simple enough, although FI still only has short birth certificate, so need to get a full one organised. saying that, i´m not very organised at all, lots of vague ideas , but nothing concrete! still struggling to find a dress! i can´t wait to go to mexico, we´ve never been before, or to any riu´s. i spent ages on trip advisor looking at the ratings and reviews, and the tequila seems to be great value. we´ve also got friends and family coming from spain and the uk, so it needed to be as cheap as possible. looking forward to picking your brains! jo
  4. fab thanks, i can´t wait, nine months today til we get married.
  5. Hiya ladies! We're getting married at the Tequila next January, has anyone been or planning to go? My main question is does anyone know if there's laundrette facilities there? Or if not, where? We've booked for two weeks, and i have a two year old son who gets through about 3 t-shirts a day, we simply don't own enough clothes for him to get through 14 days! cheers, jo
  6. Hi everyone! Has anyone ordered their dress off the internet? Can you recommend any sites? And did you try similar ones on before you ordered? I´m having a nightmare as most of the dresses in the bridal shops here are huge satin numbers, and i really want a lightweight slim one, but i´m nervous of ordering without being able to try the style first.... maybe i should fly back to the uk for a couple of days!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Hi everyone. I'm having a nightmare trying to find a dress. We live in spain, getting married in Playa del Carmen next jan, all the bridal shops out here have huge heavy satin dresses that cost thousands of euro, and no way am i spending that! i found a couple of dresses i liked from chinese sellers on ebay, but when i looked at samples they´d already made they were shocking, looked like my nine year old had made them! so i´ve looked at bestbridalprice and particularly the davinci line, and i´d like to know if anyone has any experience of them, good or bad? thanks
  8. STUNNING dresses ladies! Hopefully i will find something i like tomorrow!
