They just deduct up to $1500 worth of qualifying expenses from your bill at the end. There is a $300 limit on spa/salon services which won't go very far since their spa treatments are pretty expensive. But a lot of our guests are going to use a good part of the Vacation Dollars for golf & it will save us all a ton of money & we'll still have $300 to spare for spa services & enough for a tour or 2 for the 2 people in the room.

I was able to get a tote bag, a pen, a notepad & a sticky pad in each order for about $4.50 per order.

You can just show up with your group & try to get seated together, but if you're trying to use your group dinner reservation that's included in the wedding packages, they probably won't let you go to the Caribbean restaurant with that large of a group. I asked if we could have it there if we were willing to split into multiple tables, and my WC still told me it wasn't an option.
  4. My FI is having shoe issues too. He's wearing a seersucker suit, any suggestions on shoe color?

If you find a way, let me know & I'm happy to help.
  6. I used the attached pocket guide & just cut & paste the phrases from it into Vistaprint. American_Spanish_Phrases-USL.pdf

I don't think I own enough luggage.
  12. Good luck with your planning!
  13. I hear the rooftop terrace is a great bar on the Grand Side. I don't think it was open the last time I went to MP (they hadn't finished the Grand side yet in 2007), but the Caribbean restaurant downstairs from it was open & it was great. You could go to the rooftop terrace after your wedding & then have dinner downstairs.
  14. Just an FYI for anyone that would rather have the Cancun symbolic ceremony before getting legally married in your hometown... I had noticed in in one place in the Palace Resorts Wedding materials I was given it said that for a Symbolic Ceremony it was the responsibility of the couple to get married in their hometown pre/post travel (even though in the paragraph before it says you need to bring your marriage certificate with you). I was a little uncomfortable with getting married beforehand because I kind of felt like I was deceiving my guests in Cancun since I would already be married (especially since my parents know we are planning a symbolic ceremony, but we hadn't told FI's parents). So I asked my WC if we could get married in our hometown after the Cancun wedding, & she said that was fine. I would definitely clear it with your WC, but since I've cleared it with my WC, I'm going to get married legally once we get back home.

I ordered personalized beer glasses for my AHR from them & they turned out great. Even with the setup & shipping charges, you can get 24 shot glassses for about $3.50 each (& the price per glass goes down as you order more). If you sign up for their emails, you'll get discount codes sent to you periodically. They send out 10% off codes pretty regularly & lately they've sent out a couple of 15% off codes.
  16. I think in the Review section of the forum there are some reviews from brides who had small weddings at MP, and I think I remember that some of them used their dinner reservation that's included in the package for a dinner after their ceremony instead of having a formal reception. You could go to dinner & then go to the disco with your group after dinner.

I'm having the Mexican Trio play at the cocktail hour after our ceremony & I've been told (in writing) that the price is still $439. Maybe it goes up to $800 if you have them play an extra hour at the reception. We're just going to use the iPod setup at the reception I think.
  18. I received my DVD in the mail yesterday & started the program last night. It's a great workout. I'm going to add it to my normal routine of running, biking or swimming. I'll do my longer workout in the morning & the 20 minute DVD in the evening. Unfortunately, I don't have 30 days to "shred." I'll have to get toned up in the 25 days I have until I leave for Cancun.
  19. Betty - Sorry to hear you weren't able to get your rooms filled up, but you're right that the only thing that truly matters is that you are both there. It's still sad that you have to waste that money though.

Then I can talk to the WC at Azul Sensatori and see what dates in May of 2011 are open. YIKES! I am an event planner so it's not like I can't get everything I was planning to do over 2 years done in 1 right? LOL Yea! I hope it works out to move it to 2011. 2012 is too long to wait. You'll still have about 9 months longer to plan than I did. It will all come together great once you select a date!

Do you know which photography package she had (A, B, C, D, E, F or G)? And did you have to pay extra to have the photographer take pictures of her getting ready or was that included in the package? Thanks again.

From what I've read on here, it's most people's favorite Mexican restaurant at MP. I'm definitely going to try it this time when I go. I never ate there on my last trip. I tried to have my welcome dinner there, but you're limited to 10people for a reservation there. If you'll have more than 10, it might not be a possibility (some girls have gotten their WC to make an exception when their group was just a few people over 10). I needed a place for 22, and my WC wouldn't let us make the reservation there.
  24. A lot of people order from discountmugs.com & right now there's a special for 15% off your order. The promo code is SALE15 It expires 5/31.
