You might have to pay for the upload on the first one, but after that you can reorder & you won't have to pay for the design anymore. I got the logo uploaded for free at some point, but it was another special from one of their emails. Hope that helps!
  2. This time next Friday, my ceremony will be over & we'll be finsihing up our cocktail hour & heading to the reception! I'm almost all packed. We leave Sunday morning. I can't wait!
  3. Hey, girls - He does have a shirt. He did not take any of my suggestions & as of now he's planning on wearing a pink linen shirt with his seersucker suit. He hasn't tried it all on together (he says he will tonight), and he still needs his pants hemmed (I get to do that because I don't have enough to do!) & a belt. If he doesn't like the pink shirt, he'll just wear a white dress shirt from his closet. We just got back a few minutes ago from getting our marriage license. We're getting legally married after we get back, but I wanted to have the marriage license with us in Mexico in case the WC wants some proof that we are getting married (but she told me we just needed our passports & nothing else--& I have that email printed out). Anyway, we'll need the license when we get back so I just thought it would be best to go ahead & get it. The only big item left on my to do list is making the music list. I've been working on it & I can always finalize it in Mexico if necessary. I'm pretty much all packed...FI is not packed at all though. He has a long few days ahead of him! Hope your resort booking works out for you, Maggie.

Good luck with your planning & hopefully we can all get together in August.
  5. We're having our AHR at a brewery & the glasses that everyone will use for the beer will be the gift. We had glass beer mugs made with a personalized logo on them. Since you're having an outdoor party, you could have personalized plastic stadium cups made &/or koozies. Both could be used during the party & taken home as a souvenir.
  6. Great review! Thanks for all the details. I'm getting married at MP a week from Friday, and I can't wait! Congrats! I'm glad you had a fabulous wedding.

Every email reply has taken at least a week even for the simplest question & even in the last week. I'll have some thank you notes with me & if she does great job, I can always write her a note & include some cash. I'm sure that would be the most useful gift. My mom made my bridesmaid's bouquets, but I already have 3 suitcases packed + a carryon + golf clubs, so I asked her to pack the bouquets. I don't know how she plans to pack them but I know she has more room than I do. I am bringing freeze dried rose petals, & I do have those packed. I'm a little worried about customs, but plenty of other brides have brought them & had no problem so I'm just hoping for a green light at customs.

Good luck with everything. And I would also like to know the answer to the question u asked above regarding the meeting! I know...I leave in 6 days!! Good luck in your final preparations. A few brides have said the meeting lasted 2-3 hours. Jenna (the bride I asked in the post) said hers just took about an hour. I'm hoping mine just lasts on hour. Ours is at 3 & we have a welcome dinner starting at 6 that night. I guess I'll have to go to the meeting dressed for the dinner just in case mine takes 3 hours.
  9. I second SouthernSweetie's Moon Palace recomendation. It's a fabulous resort. I've been once before & am leaving a week from tomorrow for my wedding there. Also, Aventura Palace is another Palace resort very similar to MP which is very nice too, & has one side that is family friendly & one side adults only (I think...I went there a few years ago & no kids were allowed but I think that has changed). We chose MP over Aventura because we have lots of golfers in the group, & we don't have to leave the resort to play golf if we stay at MP. When we stayed at Aventura, golf was an all day affair because of the long drives to the other Palace golf courses. Good luck with your planning. You will find TONS of info on this site.

Jacqui x There's a bride on this site that just got back from her Aventura Palace wedding & I think she used the Ruby package (the pacakges are the same at both resorts)...check out this thread: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-review-60218/
  11. Jenna - Thanks for the review. We leave next week for our wedding. I just have two quick questions: (1) how long did your meeting with your WC last? & (2) which photo package did you choose? Thanks for all the info so soon after your wedding. Congrats on your marriage!

  13. I'm getting married on a Friday, & I think it works out well so that no one has to wake up and leave the day after the wedding. Since most people coming to a destination wedding aren't just planning on a one or two day trip, I figured everybody would be there by Friday. If you think most of your guests would stay the whole week, you could pick any day & it wouldn't matter, but if you think some of your guests will just be planning a on a long weekend for your trip, Thursday - Saturday would probably be best. Another thing to think about...there are generally rules about how far ahead of time you have to arrive at the resort before your wedding, so you should consider when you want to arrive at the resort before picking the day for your wedding.

I hope your planning and preparation is wrapping up nicely and I wish you all the best on your big day!!! I'm glad it all worked out for you! Good luck with your planning.
  15. I'm down to 16 days, only 11 days until we leave...so much still to do!

You should talk to your uncle & have him contact the resort to see if you can book your wedding under his membership. We booked my wedding under my dad's membership & are getting much better rates. There are a lot of different levels of membership, so you'll have to check with Palace Resorts to see if his membership qualifies you to use membership rates. If it does qualify, they would just need a letter from your uncle giving you permission to book the wedding under his membership. It shouldn't cost him anything (except the cost of his own room for your wedding). My wedding isn't even taking weeks away from my dad's membership (even though he has plenty to share).

Yes, I got all my tote bags free before shipping (shipping for each order was just under $5 & I was able to get a sticky pad, notepad, pen & bag for that shipping price--which seems to be about as low as shipping goes on VP). I've never seen deals that allow you to get multiples of the same item free. I just tried to maximize the amount of items I could get for the lowest shipping price, and then I placed the same order again & again (they ship them together but you still have to pay shipping each time). 18. I just did level 3 for the first time...it's pretty tough!

  20. Love the photobook! I'd been thinking about getting one, but I'd never seen a sample. I'm going to have to pick out some pictures & order one.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try to get him to go to Macy's & see if he can find something he likes. He's being very picky, & now is not the time to be picky--he just need to find something!

We also still have to get our iPod music list together since I really don't want to pay for a DJ which is way more expensive than just having the equipment there with a technician. My FI still doesn't have a shirt to go with his suit for the wedding, but at least he bought shoes this weekend. If I could just get these last deatils done, I'd feel a lot better. But I'm not worried about the resort details at all. I feel like I finally have all the answers from the resort, so now I just have to work on these last details that I have to take care of before we leave! Thanks for checking in. I'll keep you guys updated.

Quite a few brides on this site have said they will hand out the bags before traveling. I'm going to hand out most of mine when we get there because I won't be seeing most of them until we're meeting at our house to leave for the airport (or the night before for those coming from out of town). At that point, I figure they've already packed & won't want to rearrange to fit the gift bag in their luggage. There are a few guests that are staying at different resorts and I plan on giving their bag to them early (even if I have to mail it to their house) since I probably won't be seeing them in Cancun until the wedding day which is near the end of our trip. If you have the opportunity, you might as well hand them out early.
  24. Conrats and thank for such a great review! Thsi site is wonderful because of people like you that put so much effort into describing their experiences. We leave two weeks from today, & I can't wait!
  25. Three weeks from today, I'll be married...very exciting! (But still lots to do.) At least my FI bought shoes today, now he just needs a shirt for the wedding.
