    Hello!

    Congrats & Welcome!
  9. Barbiegirl 27, I completely understand what you are going through! I'm a little bit of a perfectionist and I want everything to be perfect especially for my wedding. We ended up choosing Riu Palace Las Americas. I'm about to do a site visit in April just to make sure! My dad wants to do a father/daughter trip before I get married, so he asked if I wanted to visit the resort before! We are def. going to stick with the Riu Resorts but not sure if I want to keep it there or switch over to the Riu Palace Riviera Maya due to the location. The following are some of the reasons for picking the Riu Resorts: it's affordable for guests, the wedding packages are affordable especially for large groups as we are having a large group, the option to do a reception, etc. Dreams Resorts are amazing. I don't think you could go wrong. I was torn between Dreams Resorts and the Riu Resorts. My FI actually proposed to me at the Dreams resort in Nuevo Vallarta and it was a "dream." We picked the Riu resorts over the Dreams just because they are more accommodating for larger groups. When I did my price comparisons the Dream resorts and Riu resorts were similar (e.g the rates for Feb 2010 from Feb 9-16 the rates were the following: Riu Palace Las Americas @ $1, 213, Riu Cancun @ $1,000, Dreams Cancun @ $1,200, Dreams Puerto Aventures @ $1,200, and Dreams Tulum @ $1,300. Hopefully this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
  10. Mexbride83, the thesis is what I dreaded the most too. I love research and conducting it, but writing the proposal and the protocol for the human subjects review board kinda sucks! Due to various reasons, I just completely changed my research idea. Which is a little crazy b/c I was done with the proposal and all I had to do was present it to my committee. What are you thinking about doing your thesis on or do you not have any idea? Haha, I hear you on wanting to do wedding stuff instead of school stuff, I'm in the same "boat." My school is technically on spring break right now and I should be doing a whole lot more but I rather spend my time doing wedding stuff Linhy, Congrats! The dress is beautiful. I agree with bringing in the bottom especially since it's a destination wedding. I love how it is simple & elegant. Did you try on any veils? I can't wait to see you in it!
  11. I'm motivated and have decided that I'm going to start tomorrow. I look forward to sharing my journey with all you ladies in the next 90 days. My "incentive" for doing the program everyday with be the opportunity to drink pop aka as soda, coke, etc the following day. I'm a behavior analysis so I'm always setting up contingencies to reinforce my behavior : ) It def. works. Eventually I want to quit drinking pop everyday but at least this will get me started.
  12. Congrats and Welcome. My FI proposed to me at the Dreams in Nuevo Vallarta and it was a dream. The Dream Resorts are awesome!

  18. I'm a "prevention specialist" that facilitates research based programming to “at-risk” community youth and families. Just trying to make a difference in the lives of others. In addition, I'm a Masters candidate in a applied behavior analysis program with a concentration on substance abuse and human behavioral pharmacology. My FI is a service manager at Firestone Complete Auto Care and a student as well.
