Hey to all the brides-to be! I am also a 2011 bride to be and am really excited but a bit overwhelmed! I'm still in the process of trying to find the resort but I'm leaning towards the Riu Palace Riviera Maya. I'm also interested in Paradisus Riviera Cancun & NH Riviera Cancun. So, if anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them! Congrats to all of you!

I am very happy that I found this thread. I currently have a wedding specialist with destinationweddings.com and I am rather frustrated. I'm frustrated because she is not listening to me! I've told her exactly what I wanted and what was important to me but she keeps on trying to get me to sign a contract with a resort that is not affordable for our guests. The resort is beautiful, Azul Sensatori, but is way too much. She hasn't been helpful when discussing pricing. She has told me that they price-match but every time I bring up a price that I find from a different website (e.g. cheapcaribbean, apple vacations, etc) she tells me that we have to book the airfare and resort separately. Is this correct? The others that have used destinationweddings do your specialist make your guests book air and resort separately or are they able to put a packaged deal together?

Hey Everyone, Josh and I are currently planning our 2011 wedding in the Riviera Maya area in Mexico. We are really excited and can't wait to get married. I have been researching wedding resorts extensively the last couple of weeks b/c my guests are "encouraging" us to pick one out ASAP, however, this is a bit overwhelming! I look forward to reading the advice from others. After much research I have narrowed the resorts to: Allegro Playacar (the cheapest but not my favorite), Rui Resorts (Palace Las Americas & their other resorts), Paradisus Riviera Cancun (one of my favorites) & NH Riviera Cancun. We really want to make it affordable for our guests, and we also want to have a reception with dancing that is "affordable," so if anyone has any feedback, we would love it!
