  1. I think a scarf would fit in nicely and its unisex. I just got back from Aspen a few weeks ago and I love wearing scarves cause I just don't get to in florida.
  2. I love how these came out. Did you print them on paper at home. I already have a booklet but I just am not sure how to get it printed out. It is full of pics so I'm thinking maybe kinko's just worried about it costing an arm and a leg.

Yes I used the black base coat...you can also use brown base coat but they were out of brown when I went. You can either use white crackle or cream. Though my colors are ivory the cream was a bit too yellowish. I got the Valspar brand but there are others. If you want it to look even more rustic you can get a piece of sand paper and just sand out edges...that gives it a sort of weathered look but be careful if you sand away too much it looks botched. I was looking up signs last night and came across someone selling the whole set of paint brushes, sign and pail on etsy for $99! I was like holy cow it costs less than 1/4 of that to make it.
  4. I can't see the updated version. Can you try reposting? I wanna see, I wanna see...lol!
  5. Ok so I couldn't get my get a picture of the dress so here is the link to my TTD from Nordstrom's website. JS Boutique Beaded Crisscross Matte Jersey Gown - View All - Nordstrom I love it!!!! Its light and comfotable and well since I had my coupon the price was fantastic! Pam: you are right no more wondering to Gianinar or not to Gianinar...lol!

  7. Thanks ladies!! I will be adding tags to them once they are finished with tags that say "thank you" on one side and not sure maybe a cute saying on the other. Not sure what the tags will say yet but def going to attach tags. I got the brushes at Michael's for 89c each and I bought the crackle spray paint (you have to buy the base coat and top coat) each can was $6.49. I saw the signs on etsy as well but last night I said you know what I bet I can do that. So I marched to Michael's today and I had a 40% off one regular priced item coupon and I put it to good use. I am just happy I was brave enough to try. Angela it is so easy I say give it a shot!
  8. For me it was comforting when he pulled out of his bag, very hilarious but comforting. He professionally whitens his teeth as well but he said for maintenance you just can't beat the 3D Crest. I am gonna keep using mine and keep you ladies posted.
  9. Ok so I have alot more DIY's to do but I got started on this one tonight. I am doing paint brushes for the reception site. They will be placed in a silver pail near the board walk with a sign that says "To brush the sand from your feet". I decided to do them in antique crackle. (I'm going for the sort of antique, romantic feel) I thought on the beach it will look rustic and nice. This is my first time doing a DIY and this is my first brush, I just wanted to get a feel for it. Each is going to be strung with ribbon in our colors and adorned but here is the experimental brush. I'll also be doing the sign myself in the antique crackle finish. What do you ladies think?
  10. Mine is very light also but I think it is sturdy enough to hold my dress....its only for pics I'll also have a padded hanger for my dress. My dress isn't very heavy at all though.
  11. Looks beautiful! Love the way it bussels in the back. You look stunning!
  12. I got mine from gcipsonline they are located in Hong Kong but I think they also deliver to Canada. It took a week and a half to receive! May want to check into them.
  13. Congrats and welcome to the forum, there are lots of Playa Del Carmen brides here who should be able to guide you along the way and help you pick a resort. Use the search engine as well since lots of answers are on there. Good luck and happy planning!

    Hi everyone!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your recent engagement Trista. Hope you find this forum an invaluable resource during your planning. Good luck and happy planning!
  15. Have you tried Michael's or staples? I saw some there th last time I was there. If you need it cut to specific dimensions I think you should check out cardsandpockets.com they have different colors and cut it into whatever size you require. Hope this helps...good luck!

Thanks Pam, thanks Roo!! Pam I will try posting the pic today cause last night for some reason pics and links weren't posting in my messages. Roo the designer doesn't have a website unfortunately she lives in Miami and makes those belts specifically for the bridal shops here. That particular belt I was wearing is $250 and actually another bride saw me try it on and she bought it that same day when I said I wasn't buying it. Also each of the belts she makes is one of a kind (meaning she will make something similar but she won't make the exact same one again). The salon had several ranging in prices this one was the one I like best, the ribbons on some of them also some in different colors....like fuschia, turquoise, green. Perhaps you can call the store 305-448-3599 ask for Vivian (the owner) or you can try e-mailing them at [email protected] and asking them about the "beaded band 3-piece broaches from the local Miami designer". She will know exactly what you are talking about and she should be able to give you some more info.
  17. Hi ladies I went looking for a TTD not too long ago and actually tried on some really nice dresses. Though I didn't choose any of these I wanted to share the pics...since I know that you ladies love pics!! Fanal by La Sposa (belt is from a local Miami designer..she makes gorgeous belts) Jorge Manuel Another La Sposa This was my least favorite Hope you ladies enjoyed the pics! I tried on all of these dresses at J. Del Olmo (Coral Gables) and I have to say their service is impeccable. It is owned by a father and daughter team and they loved me so much they asked for me to do an instore show for them the next time they have one. All of the dress were between $1200 - $1600 with the exception of the Jorge Manuel which was $3100. I was impressed because on top of that they always give a 10% discount even when there isn't a trunk show going on.
  18. I did this a few weeks ago, but just for the heck of it. I already have my dress and was looking for a TTD. I am torn because I know you don't like the first one but I think it looks good on you and so does the last one. The top of the last one is pretty.

I am pretty sure they'll make my teeth super sensitive, which I hate, but I am willing to do it for a bright smile at my wedding! I just went to the dentist yesterday for a cleaning and I asked if I could do anything to whiten my teeth leading up to the wedding. I know I couldn't do the zoom again cause I did it last year (though I was secretly praying I could...it got my teeth so white). My dentist actually recommended the crest 3D white strips and I said to him "no I want to use what you use" (he has handsome white teeth...I mean he smiles and you literally think wow gorgeous smile) he pushes himself over to his case and low and behold pulls out the container of it. So guess what I did right after leaving the dentist office.....I went and got myself the Crest 3D whitestrips!
  20. I bought a TTD!!! Ok so it was totally unexpected and I wasn't looking for it. We were out looking for a MOB dress (I was with a friend) when I stumbled across it. Tried it on and loved it....so I ordered one cause the one I tried on in the store was a size 0 someone had ordered but it didn't fit her. Ok so here it is, I received a coupon from Nordstrom and figured what the heck let me go look for something for my mom. Well while I was waiting at the register to ask a question up comes this girl with a dress saying she needed to exchange it. I took a look at the dress and it was fab! It was waited till she retuned it and in the meantime struck up a conversation (because of my profession I am always networking) anyway she mentioned she bought the dress in a size 0 and 2 because it ran small according to the reviews and she wasn't sure, the 2 fit so she was returning the 0!!! Just my luck, as soon as her transaction was done I tried it on......LOVEd IT!!! FABULOUS! But being me I didn't want the one she returned so I ordered it when I got home online and used my coupon. It came out to $151.30!!! Been trying to post pics but my photobucket is acting up! The great thing about Nordstrom is you can always return in store for any reason. I have to get the hem taken up (cause I am a shorty 5'1) but other than that I love it and it fits like a dream. Can't wait to post pics.
  21. You are the best!! I had done a google search as well but everything was so expensive. Going to check Macy's and thanks for the template....you rock! Enjoy your wedding! I can't wait to see pics.
