Then I went to the store on ebay and wrote a message through there letting them know that I had written prior and what had happened. Within 2 hours I got a reply from the [email protected] and a message through ebay apologizing for not seeing my earlier message through hotmail. I imagine with all the requests sometimes e-mails can get overlooked. Try sending them another message or go through the ebay site like I did.

BUT! My friend did this and I thought she was a genius.....she bought strips of hair (tracks?) and made them into clip ons by sewing on clips that were sold at the beauty supply store. She matched the hair to her head in store, wrote down the brand/color etc. and ordered online somewhere for cheaper and then MADE her own clip ins. You may really want to check out LHCF (longhaircareforums.com) for info on weaves. I know a lot of women like BHM black hair media forums...they have a whole section about weaving and whatnot so maybe you'll find more clip in info there. PS: shameless plug for my blog: Natural Coils & Kinks Love the blog!! Will definitely keep an eye on it. I've pretty much the same thing you did a few years ago while in college transitioned out of relaxed hair but transitioned back after finding my current hair stylist...she is fabulous! I swear if I lose her....well I don't know what I'll do. When she goes home to DR I literally count the days till she is back. I'll check into the clip ins and thanks for all the suggestions. You rock!
  10. ChristinaK: the BM dress came out fabulous and well you simply can't beat the price. Peterpanpixiedust: I don't think you're being picky I can see all the little things you're talking about and the dress does look stiff. Now I think I am worried cause they are supposed to do mine in poly satin and I am hoping it won't be stiff. I'm sure they'll fix everything though, they did for ChristinaK. The V-neck should be deeper and well the buttons can always be added. I know it may seem like major changes but I am sure for them its very doable and easily fixable. Keep us posted on how it goes.
  11. Hi MeiLing, yes all of my guests will be staying at the Somerset. We have encouraged everyone to stay there and luckily guests that did shop around decided Somerset was the best value for their money. It also helps that we got a great deal on rates with our wedding. We are having an open bar. I really compared everything to the prices here in Miami and in comparison it is somewhat equal. So we decided to go with an open bar for about 3-4 hours and after that anyone who wants to keep drinking can purchase drinks. The goal is for everyone to have fun, not get trashed at our expense. I did not go with a separate wedding planner. I am using Monique from the Somerset. I was told by another bride that she is very efficient and quite capable of pulling it all together. I must admit though that as the day approaches I am worried that I may need an actual planner the day of. Monique is a wedding coordinator and from what I understand she overseas everything running smoothly but I am unsure as to whether she really pulls everything together. Like I am freaking out because I need someone that is going to make sure that the respective sites are decorated, and the fans put on the chairs and things like that. I'm not sure she really takes care of stuff like that. I still need a clear definition of what she will handle and what is left up to me. I am having my reception at the hotel. It will be on the lawn. How many people are you having at your wedding MeiLing? Where will your reception be? Are you using Monique as well or did you get an outside planner (Diane from Island Harmony)?

  20. Congrats on your engagement and welcome to the forum! Happy planning!
  21. Danyelle thanks so much for your post. I have never worn weave or anything but I know for my wedding day I wanted to have my hair a bit longer. My hair just never seems to get too far south of my bra strap and I wanted to add some length to it for wedding day. I have been completely lost. My hair stylist doesn't do extensions or anything of that sort, just blow outs and my friends just don't have my type of hair so turning to them is useless. I was thinking about clip ins but was unsure where to look or even what brand to look into. I am gonna see if I can find a store in Miami that carries the remy renoir. My hardest thing will probably be matching my hair color. Thank you, thank you, thank you though cause I feel like at least I have some direction now.
  22. I love this site. I actually just bought a watch this morning. I try to check it from time to time cause they have great deals. Anyone interested in shopping today here is a $10 off coupon: HLMAYSURVEY Enjoy!!!
  23. WretchedDeviant thanks for the info on the material. My real dress is POB which I shelled out the $5000 for but for my TTD I wanted my second runner up dress without shelling out the $4000 for that one. I think from the pics that I have seen the quality will be just fine for my TTD. I am not worried about it being breathable because after all I will only be wearing it for about 3 hours. I think you should get the dress you want. The Tornai is beautiful....not my style but a very gorgeous dress and definitely fairy-like! I think you should do what makes you happy. Its your day to live your dream...I say go for it! I tried on several dresses and I know that the two dresses I have chosen (real POB for wedding day and fake POB for TTD) fit me excellently. I'm just so happy cause now I am excited to see both dresses! My gianinar is $150 hope that helps anyone that was querying the prices.
  24. Thanks JackieC, Mimi, Sylvie!! I put my deposit today to gianinar but I haven't sent my measurements yet. I have to get that done hopefully this weekend. They have already let me know the dress will be made from polyester-satin (I have no idea what material that is..lol). I will of course keep you ladies posted every step of the way! ;-)
  25. Hi Laura, congrats and welcome to the forum. You'll definitely find lots of info and help in planning you DW. Happy planning!
