OOT Bags for Teens & Children?
JanineA replied to selassie11's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I only have one baby attending the wedding. She is my FI's niece and she will be 16 months. I bought her a pail with shovel. These little fishes to put in the water that float with her, goggles, arm band floaties, soft floating discs, and little animal things to make shapes in the sand. I have seen other ladies put things like coloring books and inflatable beach balls, water guns, rafts, things to build sand castles. Maybe those miniature video game thingys (mind you I don't have children so I have no clue how much a nintendo DS costs). Hope some of this helps. -
What are your wedding colors / wedding theme?
JanineA replied to lalanyc's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
My colors are plum/aubergine, peonies pink, ivory and silver with a few accents of bright green. The BMs dresses are plum, their flowers are ivory with bright green mums. The guys are wearing tan linen suits, still trying to find the perfect tie (they don't want pink ties and I refuse to let them get ivory it looks to boring, haven't found a plum tie or green that looks good and goes). My dress is ivory, my bouquet are variations of plum colors with peonies and mums. The silver and green are really more accent colors. -
Hi I already posted in the November brides thread answering this but will post a brief synopsis of what my friend did. She ran into a similar situation where she had to have her wedding at a particular historic mansion her reception was set for 6. She had the wedding (it took 2 hours cause it was an orthrodox Jewish wedding), then we all had lunch (which was cheaper than a dinner reception). Guests mingled for about an hour then they invited every one to relax (you can use siesta since yours will be in Mexico) everyone changed (for the Jewish ceremony we couldn't show skin out of respect but the reception was not Jewish so many of the ladies got more comfortable and the guys too). When we returned at 6 it was open bar and fun stations with Appetizer sized bites. Everyone was refreshed and ready to party. I actually stayed all the way through since I was her BM. On the break while others left to change we were taking photos with the pro photographer and we helped set up the reception since we knew exactly how to execute her vision. Then we returned to the room dressed down in matching casual dresses and returned to party. Hope this helps give you an idea and maybe you won't have to change your date after all.

Our save the dates were sent and we've been set with 11/13th this whole time...the problem is that the chapel we really fell in love with, Xcaret Assisi chapel, is booked and they don't have any time openings other than 10am.... We have two options if we really love the church: Doing a ceremony at 10am or switching our date to 11/12th. What are your thoughts...? We are so confused!! So far the few people that have booked their travel are arriving on the 10th.... If we change the date it's better for us to do it now than wait for more people to book. This sounds similar to my friends wedding back in February. She had to have it at a particular historic mansion so the wedding started at 10am and the reception was at 6pm. How did she pull it off. Well I have to say her wedding coordinator was creative in that after the wedding (it was an orthrodox jewish ceremony which lasted 2 hours) everyone had brunch/lunch. By 2pm the bridal party went off to take pictures and the guests were invited to head to their rooms and change to return for a fun reception in the evening. Some mingled for a while. I stuck around the entire day since I was her maid of honor. But most people left at about 2pm and returned around 6pm ready to party...and party we did until 2am! I would say to avoid the confusion try not to change the date and perhaps think of something creative guests can do in between (2 hour cocktail cruise). Not sure how long your ceremony was going to last. Its just a thought. PS I should probably add that in terms of food it worked out cheaper cause her guests ate lunch instead of dinner and in the evening she had open bar and just hors d'ouevres served (I know i spelled that wrong...sorry).

Starfish Themed Wedding

Glad I found this thread. I was wondering where to find white finger starfish to tie with raffia and name tags. Glad that ladies posted the websites they used. -

I told them I needed it for July.... even though the wedding is really in Nov I'll keep you ladies posted. I LOVE seeing everyone dresses so far! Totally smart to tell them you need it by July, that way you don't have to worry or panic about it close to your date...(you're getting married just a few days after me!!!). Keep us posted and post pics when you get it. BTW are you wearing both or did you get both and will decide which to wear once you get your Gianinar. Is the Gianinar your TTD?

Congrats and welcome to the forum. I have to agree with Rachel planning a DW isn't easy but thank God for this forum! The ladies are wonderful, Tammy the host was ingenius in thinking up a place where us DWBs can exchange ideas, build friendships and support each other through this process. Take a deep breath, and then dive right into the forum, as you do you'll find lots of help and support especially on those stressful days. Good luck and happy planning!

Congrats and welcome to the forum. Choosing "the" destination is probably one of the more challenging things you will have to do. Browse the board and ask lots of questions. There are lots of brides from all over so they can help you go through your pros and cons list of what you are looking for in terms of location. Good luck and happy planning!

Well I've been gone for a few days but I see a few more ladies have gotten in their dresses or at least ordered. Roxymysockz I think your dress came out lovely. I can't wait to see the final product once you take it in and add the oomph ;-) Pam have you ordered yet? I am excited to see Mimi83's JimHjlem, while reading back in the posts I am on edge. So funny Mimi83 and Mimi73 similar names both went for similar dresses. Mimi73 have you received your dress yet?

Discount Mugs issue
JanineA replied to meldal101010's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Thank goodness I read this thread I didn't even know others had problems with discountmugs. I had read all positive reviews so far. Erika thanks for posting all of those. I plan on ordering my stainless steel water bottles from them. At least this way I can be prepared ahead of time that it may take long. I was expecting just a 2 week turn around. Thanks ladies! -
Lacoste Beach Towels
JanineA replied to susanna.hanson's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I really really like those towels. I wonder if I can find them in golf size for the guys OOT bags....hmmm. Will have to search. Thanks for sharing! -
In my bags for the guys I am including flip flops (got them at ON during the sale), beer koozies, foam footballs, water bottles (the girls get water bottles too), golf tees and golf balls (many of our guys play golf). For the girls I got sarongs, purse valets, candles, soaps, flips flops and water bottles. Both are getting sudoku books and crossword puzzle books. I would like to add something else sort of fun for the guys but I'm having a hard time thinking of something. Maybe I'll do golf hats...I don't know.
