  8. Thanks for sharing this. I actually started searching koozies since many ladies post pics of them in their planning thread but not necessarily where they got them from. I will be ordering some.
  9. From what I have seen on the board most brides usually send the luggage tags out when they send out the pre-travel brochures. I'm not sure if you planned on doing pre-travel brochures. Otherwise you could wait until everyone rsvps and then perhaps mail them out with a little note/card/letter with any info they may need to have regarding transportation etc and a note expressing how pleased you are that they will be attending. Hope that helps.
  10. Ok thank you....I was so nervous just now I kept checking back for an answer. Thank you!!!
  11. Congrats I love Excellence Playa Mujeres!!! I was there last October and I can't wait to go back. I loved everything about my stay from sitting around in the lazy pool. Trying each of the different restaurants (we loved the mexican one and there is one upstairs that is japanese we also liked). Everytime I look back at our pics there I always smile and say I can't wait to return. The beds are huge and comfy, each room has an ensuite hot tub!!! Ahhhh just thinking about it I miss it. You simply can't go wrong with that resort. Good luck and happy planning!!!
  12. I can't recommend a place in Miami Beach but I do know a place near Coconut Grove where I live that makes excellent cupcakes...I mean excellent and the best part is that they deliver. The name is Buttercream Cupcakes. I've had their cupcakes and used them for a babyshower I threw for some friends. Hope that helps. Cupcakes in Miami and Coral Gables | Buttercream Cupcakes & Coffee

  21. I have to agree with the ladies. This gift is not a gift at all. Lucy is right its more like a leash. My FI and I are paying for our wedding but my parents did give me some money (not alot, since they live in another country and I knwo things are hard for them), not once did they try to dictate who should be invited or not. I am glad that you have decided to pay for the wedding yourselves so that you can have the wedding of your dreams. In the end they will take your stand of independence as seriousness and they will probably come around and realize how fickle and selfish they are being. Rachel is right they can take the money and throw themselves a party for them and their friends or if you have the wedding in Michigan they can throw you and AHR at home, maybe that would be a happy medium for them. Either way I think you are on the right track.
  22. I have to agree with many of the ladies. I did go dress shopping with my MOH but in the end she cannot attend the wedding due to tax issues she is now facing. As for your bridal party you can have as many as you like or none at all. The focus should be on you and your hubby. I've planned my entire wedding from start to finish with the help of my cousin who lives in NY so her help and support has been through e-mails and phone. Everything else my FI has helped with. I kind of felt down since I will do my fitting alone and I've been doing most of the shopping on my own but anytime I ask FI he is always willing to go when he isn't working. Taking your mom is a fantastic idea. Mine lives in another country. So don't worry too much once you and FI are sharing the experience together the rest doesn't matter.
  23. My hair isn't really short but I was thinking of using extensions for my wedding. There is another thread where us chocolate brides have been discussing hair issues perhaps you can browse and find some ideas. Here is a link to the thread: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...uestion-27873/ Good luck!

  25. I haven't been to couples slept away but had a colleague who recently did her 2nd honeymoon there and she can't stop talking about it. She actually stayed her first few days at Couples Negril and then transferred for the remainder of her stay to Couples Swept Away (she is in her late 30s husband early 40s), she claims there is just no comparison. On the other hand I have a friend who just got back from CSA on the advice of that mutual friend and she didn't like it. She said it was too quiet, it was very romantic that wasn't her complaint but she was more looking for a party atmostphere (she is 25). She did agree that it is great if you are going on a honeymoon as it was cleaner, new and all round romantic, also great if you want seclusion and a healthy vacay. She went with someone she recently started dating and was looking for a little bit more lively and party atmostphere. Good luck in your decision. Overall I would say skip Sandals though! Both couples are way better than Sandals!
