  1. I got a gorgeous Pronovias dress for $900 off the rack. It is a 2009 dress instead of a 2010, so they were needing to get rid of it for the new styles. It is amazing. They are altering it to my size (that isn't included in the $900), but it was originally $1800. Right now while 2010 styles are coming out you may find a great deal on a 2009 dress off the rack!
  2. I am having my AHR just 2 days after we get back from our wedding. I am most definitely wearing my dress again. We are actually have professional pictures taken all afternoon around my parents' farm as well. I'm excited I will get to wear it twice!!
  3. Thanks for all the info ladies. Jesmcan, do we need an account to view your pictures? Sorry, i'm not very familiar with shutterfly, but it asked for a password. I'm assuming i need to create an account?
  4. How exciting!! Congrats! That is awesome that you had your Grandpa there, I'm sure he felt very honored.
  5. Thanks Lady_Di. Are you having your bridal party sit with you? Or with their spouses? We are having 4 bridesmaids and 4 groomsmen. So with us, we would fit at a table then. But including their spouses and significant others, I'm not sure what to do. Any ideas?
  6. I think I would probably do more on decorating if I had the ability. I am not creative at all. I'd rather be just as surprised and in awe about my decorations as my guests on my wedding day. The idea of having to decide what goes where, what colors go with what, all that stresses me out. I am having a hard enough time picking a bouquet! I know I like pink roses...I have no idea what should go in there with them though! Reading on this forum gives me all sorts of super cute ideas. But when I sit back and think about me having to do it myself I get all anxious and stressed out. So for me, just better to let the resort do it and be surprised!
  7. Again, still laughing. I had the blue wax when I had it done. But when the lady told me to put my legs over my head, I about lost it! I do think I will probably try it again before my wedding. I am just afraid to do it the week of the wedding and get all red or something. I'd hate to be on the beach with red bumps everywhere!!
  8. I was also wanting a very pretty, but simple wedding. This forum really makes me want more though! I am constantly having to step back, evaluate my budget and priorities, and go from there. I have decided against any extra decorations, except for my own aisle runner. I also am doing the OOT bags, but that is it.
  9. I am super happy that it is Friday!!! My wedding shower is being planned, I'm getting a lot of my favors ordered, things are starting to come along. I am ready for this weekend to get a lot more planning done.
  10. Does anyone know how the setup is for private receptions? I am having mine on the beach in front of the gazebo. I have 27 guests plus me and my FI as of now. Is it always round tables? How many to a table? I am contemplating doing two entrees which would cause me to set a seating chart. I'm just curious how difficult this would be for me. I think it will be more hassle than I want, but I am just exploring the option. Thanks!

(Standard or light up) Can we have this reception on the beach? Also, generally everyone in our trip eats meat, except for two people. Are there vegetarian options for those two? If we do have kids attending, is it an option to hold the reception on the beach at the Gran? I know it seems like a lot of questions, but I'm trying to knock them all out at once. I originally signed up for the eternal romance package, so I will try to answer the best that I can. The semi-private reception is at one of the restaurants. They section off an area for you, or have it out on the patio is my understanding. You have a 3 course meal that you choose from a menu they provide you. It also includes a standard cake. I think a standard dance floor is included, I know that the light-up one is not. From my understanding, the reception cannot be on the beach, as that is considered a private reception. You are able to upgrade to a private for $10 or $15 per guest, sorry I forgot the exact amount. That is per Real guest, outside guests are more. There is a vegetarian menu that you can choose from as well. I am not sure about having your reception at the Gran, but I would assume that the beach would be considered a private reception wherever you have it...but I could be wrong on that. Happy planning!
  12. Carly, I am seriously sitting here laughing out loud at your post. You just put into words exactly how my first experience was. I know that i said more than a couple curse words though! I have not done it in 3 years and am contemplating doing it again before my wedding. I just am not looking forward to going through all that again!!!
  13. The frame for the sand ceremony looks really neat!
  14. I can't wait to see those pictures!! You had everything so perfectly planned, too bad Mother Nature had to go and through a wrench in everything.
  15. Have any of you ladies seen this site? Compost Bins : Shop Kitchen Compost Bin at CompostBins.com Great resource for those wanting to get started!
  16. Some of these recipes sound amazing! I need to read more because they seem like they'd be difficult...hope not!
  17. Nebraska Furniture Mart is here in Omaha and they actually have a gift registry. We had contemplated registering there ourselves. They have the completion program as many others do (Dillards, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc), where you get like 20% off anything on your registry for the 60 days following your wedding. Maybe you could check into that? We knew nobody would by us a sofa, but to use the money we got for our wedding plus the 20% off was very appealing. We ended up registering for enough kitchen/house stuff that we haven't gone and registered for furniture yet.
  18. I love the kissing game idea!!! How cute! Hope your day was wonderful, it looks like you had everything planned perfectly!
  19. My wedding is at 5pm and I just schedule my appointments today. Me, my 4 bridesmaids, my mother, and my FMIL are all scheduled at 1pm. I am hoping to be back in my room by 3 to finish getting ready and for them to get their makeup done and stuff. We are planning on starting my pictures at 3:30. I want to get some fun girl pictures in before the wedding so that is why we are starting then.
  20. Yay! It worked! I guess I didn't read far enough. You can use the forum's account and password to load pictures for free. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...account-10497/ Hope this helps you sell them!
  21. I found this link that tells how to upload pictures. But do you really have to pay for a photobucket account? Maybe I did it wrong, but it was wanting to charge me $25. Anyways, good luck uploading these pictures. They are adorable, you will have no problems selling them all. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ok-here-16832/
