I agree with the ladies who say ask first, figure out logistics (if they can't come) second. You def don't want any of your friends thinking you chose them as an after thought since that obviously isn't the case. Good luck! Congrats and welcome to the forum! I would totally recommend the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel along the Kohala Coast (North of Kona, on the Big Island). Since in Hawaii it's law that there are no 'private' beaches (makes it hard for a resort to offer beach ceremony locations), this might be your best bet for having a beautiful outdoor wedding overlooking the Pacific. THey have a great selection of ceremony locations and the beach at the resort is constantly voted one of the best in the world. If its within your budget it is a fabulous resort and equally fabulous location!! Check out the Big Island section of the forum bc there are a few other write ups of various locations on the island. Good luck with your planning, I'm mega jealous that you are getting married in Hawaii!! My favorite place on earth (unfortunately too far to ask East Coast visitors to go!)

If you are a bride in the DC Metro area today through I believe Sunday, you can get a 1 hour photography session for $65! The photographer is Brooke Bready and she is today's Groupon, coupon. You receive a one hour photo shoot, a cd/dvd of a minumum of 60 edited photos with rights and a slideshow set to music. On her website, this is listed as regularly being $425!!! Its an incredible deal for an engagement or family shoot, or she even does Budoir shoots! The groupon is good for one year after purchase.
