google p90x program and you'll find a schedule depending on what workout you want to do - classic, lean, or doubles. i think most brides here are looking to tone up and lose weight faster so they follow lean since it has more emphasis on cardio. -
Hi all  I went to do a site visit a few weeks ago and had a trial done by Norma Fernandez - who works for MAC in Cancun. She is SUUUUPER nice and did an AWESOME job for my trial and her prices are soo much more reasonable compared to a few other artists in town. She brought another girl with her, Lesley, to do my hair and i had my reservations about how she did. I literally came out of the pool, washed my hair and plopped down for my trial - yes a sopping mop of tangled mess. I don't know any other worse scenario I could have given Lesley so I was thinkng to myself- if i come out of this half decent she's good. I need a ton of heat for my hair - and its THICK- i swear i have enough hair for two people. and its long. my fears were suddenly alleviated when after blow drying my hair out into a crazy 'fro, she whipped out a chi flat iron. about a half hour later of curling and twirling i had a fancy wavy updo that she fastened with some kind of clip and rubber band and bobby pins. I want to wear my hair up for the ceremony and dinner then let it out and down for the dancing. I didn't get too specific with style - i just let Norma and Jen do their thang and it turned out really really awesome. My fi was there and I think he really really liked it b/c my makeup just looked like an enhancement of me - i didn't look a completely different person. the makeup felt light - I asked for natural and to play up my eyes with lashes. and it came out great! i'm posting a random pic of what my hair looks like natural - and then the "after" pics. any questions just ask! natural hair - but brown when this pic was taken  in the process - with the sun on me - see that frizzy hair! lol   all done!

thanks! Yes I am half filipino (mom's side) so I really wanted to incorporate it somehow into our invites... hopefully can incorporate more of it into our day! I did just send the invites out like monday last week so i'm only giving people a few weeks to rsvp... i figured it will buy me some extra time to call and follow up earlier. can't wait to see your invites - hurry and scan!

My invites are currently out the door!! Finally!!!! i'm anxiously awaiting rsvp cards back but in the meantime i thought i'd share my pics from design to print. I designed everything myself but definitely scoured sites for inspiration. Concept: I had a few concepts but totally loved a design that I saw on wedding paper divas. being a designer myself there were elements i didn't like in the original so took it as a springboard when creating my own. I came up with a few monogram/logos but the fi was loving the coat of arms look and it just fit with his name and included both of our personalities (his name is prince, and i'm an artist - hence the paintbrushes) that we just went with it. since the coat of arms infers a formal event I wanted to interject a little playfulness in the whole invitation suite and did a rsvp card in mad-lib style. i really hope everyone plays along and at least those who can't come can feel even more of a part of our event just by replying. PRINTING: Once the designs were done, i sent it off to a plate maker to get plates made for letterpress printing. My coworker does letterpress on the side (if you want her info, shoot me a PM) so she graciously offered to print my pieces as long as i ordered all the materials. I have soooo much respect for letterpress now that i've witnessed firsthand the process. it's super labor intensive! i made it easy and did everything in 1 color ... we took about 4 hours on a saturday night to setup, print and cut everything. since the wedding is at the rosewood - i wanted to also tie in that element - it's hard to see in the pictures but the invite itself is printed on a white wood grain paper. the press with my polymer plate all ready: printing done! ready for cutting! Final design (before plates): Actual invite: the suite rsvp card is mad-lib style! travel and accommodations card: the checklist: ASSEMBLY: I used these folder pocket envelopes i found at paper presentation to hold everything. they ran out of the color i needed (eggplant) so there's 3 versions floating out there - either silver, metallic ruby, or eggplant purple. depending on the color i used an accent ribbon of either eggplant purple or a sour apple green. (wedding colors!) ... i got the ribbon on sale at this nondescript fabric shop in downtown for .39 cents a yard! it was fun to mix and match but my favs are the eggplant envelope and sour apple green ribbon. MY MOH helped me tape the ribbons then the fi jumped in here and did all the assembly while I sat and did calligraphy on the envelopes. it was definitely a group effort but we got all 45 invites done in one night some cool things i used - i had a custom stamp made of our coat of arms logo - it was hard to not use it all over the place...there was opportunity for stamp overkill but we kept it to just the pocket on the envelope and on the back of the rsvp envelope (subtle but still cool) i can't wait to use it on menucards, totebag tags, and other DIY projects king and queen postage stamps: got these at the post office just in time - this has been discontinued! it coincidently fit with the whole royalty theme we've got going on. This went to london hence the ridiculous amount of stamps lol but i actually loved it.. i also went with a plain envelope just to make sure it go there: the original invites mailed like this - i did the calligraphy myself it was a labor of love but i really loved how they turned out!

hi ladies - i'm a graphic designer and can design wedding logos just PM me... but here's mine! just a note that having a fiance with the name Prince lends itself to a royalty based theme so it made my job that much easier. the hard part was incorporating me into the logo! so we ended up with this family crest/shield logo. I'm a painter, hence the paintbrushes. Our date is 10-10-10 so it randomly worked out that the crossing paintbrushes forms the roman numeral for 10 (totally not intended! it was pointed out by the fi when he saw the logo)... I didn't want to really use this logo because I want our wedding to not come off as stuffy or too formal but it just seemed so appropriate and it just went well with the invitations (which I just mailed! will post pics in another thread) by the way it's show in black here but I dependign on what i'm printing it can be any color - I made custom stamps of this and use metallic silver as my ink to stamp on stuff. hope you all like it!!

i'm totally feeling you on this - I am also in the playa del carmen area. I've had two quotes from 2 makeup artists but neither could show pics of makeup done on a "chocolate bride" I don't want to do my own makeup either. MsGlave - will you have any friends who can help out in the hair or makeup area? As far as hair, I think I might be better off just telling the staff at the hotel exactly what to do rather than sittign and crossing my fingers.

thanks for the tip!

yeah 10-10-10 is crazy but i was fortunate to have the day open - so it's booked! I'm so slacking on this planning thing though - has anyone gotten their invites out yet? is it ever too early? I wanted to send mine early June... AND i still don't have a dress ...

i think it's cute - i would make the palm tree graphic a little smaller though - it's overshadowing your names. Don't make it tiny - Just small enough that there is equal white space all around the circle. right now it doesn't look centered within the circle very cute though and i would keep with those two fonts!
