  1. Congratulations and welcome to the Forum, Nicole. I love St. Thomas, as well. When my daughter was in college, she went over there for a summer and worked with the Wedding Coordinator at the Marriott Frenchman's Reef. It's a beautiful location, however, not all-inclusive. Good luck and happy planning!!
  2. I agree that they look good. I know it's not what you wanted but you're guests will never know and will appreciate having them. Good luck with your wedding. It's coming up real soon. I look forward to seeing your pictures and review when you return.
  3. I wouldn't be surprised if this has happened to everyone of us BDW brides. I think it's just horrible that people cannot respond. We were having just our immediate families, which came to only 11 of us. One, of my many cousins, told my mother that he and his wife would really like to go, so we decided to go ahead and send them all an invitation, knowing that the majority of them would not come, being the weekend before Christmas and a lot of them having kids with no passports, etc. Anyway, we went out and got some invitations and sent them out to 10 different families. In addition, I sent personal emails explaining what we were doing, certain info about flights and which ariport to fly into, etc. We were given an awesome room rate at the hotel ($119/night) and I just wanted them to know the facts before making their decision. I only heard from 3 of the 10 that they could not make it. Now, I was starting to fume because not only have they received a personal email but an invitation, as well. I never expected anyone to come, but I thought they could have at least responded to the email with a congratulations or something. One day I was on Facebook and saw that 4 of the 7 that had not responded yet, were all communicating on Facebook, so I wrote by my name "what is up with my relatives that are always on the computer but can't respond to personal emails". Immediately, 2 people contacted me wanting to know what they had done. Unfortunately, they were 2 of the ones that had already responded. After a couple of hours, I felt badly for doing that, so I went in and deleted it. Yesterday, I received 2 chain letters/ jokes, etc. emails from the cousin that said they wanted to go, but still no response to the personal email I sent nor my invitation, so, I went back and found my email and forwarded it to her asking if she had seen this email and that I was thinking she might not have seen it since she never responded. Well, within 10 minutes she called and said that she and her husband were going. I was just shocked because they had to pay a little over $1,000 for the two of them - just for their airfare. Sorry ladies, for this being so long - but not responding or rsvp'ing is just a pet peeve of mine. Keep in mind, that the point was NOT to pressure anyone into coming (you wouldn't want someone there that didn't want to come), but the point was - why can't they respond to something personal when they are on the computer on a daily basis So, as you can see, it's happening to a lot of us.
  4. Congratulations. Wow, it will be here before you know it. I'm getting married right after you on December 19 in Cabo. Good luck and happy planning.
  5. Congratulations and welcome to the Forum. Be sure to read your welcome email first. That will give you a better understanding on how it all works. Good luck and happy planning!!
  6. Congratulatons and welcome to the Forum. I agree, to definitely read your welcome email first. Then, you'll have a better feel on how to navigate this Forum. Good luck and happy planning!!
  7. Don't know of quotes either, but I bet if you search on the internet you will find some. Good luck!!
  8. We're taking ours with us to give to the guests when they arrive. I'm also afraid they wouldn't take them if we gave them out early and it would just defeat the purpose, with the First Aid kits, games, beach towels, etc., but I have to say, we only have seven to take.
  9. How fun!!! Good luck and have a great time!!!
  10. I know how you feel. I lost 20 lbs quickly but nothing for the six months. I've maintained what I've lost but my goal was/is still another 10 lbs. I'm not getting married until December and doubt if I'll lose another 10, but right now, I would be thrilled with losing 5 and that's what I'm shooting for now. Picked up the dress today, after having it altered and it fit fine, thank goodness. I agree, I think the carbs will keep the weight off.
  11. How funny. Good idea to wait until they book. I like that idea.
  12. That's horrible. Where are you getting married?
  13. Congratulations! That's wonderful that you're getting married at a place that is so special to you. I know it's a really good feeling to get that contract back. Good luck and happy planning.
  14. Everything looks great, Heather. You did a good job. I've been on the Sunrider boats several times and had a blast each time. You're getting married on my birthday, so I will be sure to think of you. Best of luck to you!!
  15. I'm getting married in Mexico and all we have do to is the blood test and they're even coming to our hotel to give it to us. Nothing has been said about a chest Xray - or drinking before the wedding. Of course, I don't know who would over-do it before the ceremony, but I'm sure there are some wild ones out there.
  16. Greece will be a wonderful place for a wedding. I've been there, but unfortunately I have no tips for having a wedding there. You should find tons of helpful information here. Congratulations and good luck planning.
  17. Congratulations, Shelby and welcome to the Forum.
  18. How does the starfish stay on the card? I see a ribbon, but does the starfish have a hole or did you hot glue it?
  19. How cute! I'm going to look into those. Thanks for sharing.
  20. We didn't use a TA, however there's only 13 in our party and I booked everyone's air reservation myself (FI and I travel a lot on business and are used to it). We are not staying at an AI, however, we were all given a room rate of $119 per night and FI and I were upgraded to a Premier Suite (2 rooms, 2 baths) and were given 2 out of 6 nights free.
