Great review! I emailed the Elegance for info on their package, but no answer yet. Question: did you have to pay extra for the dinner reservations in the restaurant? If so, how much because they don't seem to offer a dinner in their package.. :/

Hi girls! Would anyone be so kind to post or PM me the correct email address for a wedding coordinator at Dreams PB? I have sent emails out to two different addresses and both have come back invalid. Getting fed up! I'm torn between Dreams Palm Beach, Dreams Tulum or Valentin Imperial in Mexico.. prices are best in the dominican, but Valentin is extraordinary.. just not sure if guests will want to pay $1700-1800 each to come to my wedding! What are all your guests paying approximately for 7 nights all included? I am stressing a little bit and nothing is even reserved yet.. imagine!

jstar83: where do you live in montreal? I'm out in the east end...and believe me, the back fat and arm jiggles are a reality for me too. I have an amazing aerobics class 3 times a week but will need to get back to the gym to do weights. PM me if you want to organize something.. we can always just go for a powerwalk!

Hey all, just read through all the pages in this thread. Just sent out an email tonight to the WC at Valentin for information... looking towards a June 2011 wedding. Packages seem very reasonable, but prices for guests are averaging between 1700-1800$ per person for 7 nights. It's a bit steep! I LOVE the resort, my parents went there two years ago and thought it was amazing but they said it was 'dead' at night. I guess we'll have our own fun! I asked quite a few questions in my email so will post replies when I get them if there's new info to add here.

weakness is desserts .. which is why I stay away from them 90% of the time.. but i can't resist when we're at a restaurant (couple times a month). Down to 221.0 ladies.. was about 228.5 around this time last year. It's not much but hell, at least the numbers aren't going in the other direction! We leave in 2.5 weeks for Mexico.. would LOVE to be down 2-3 pounds more.

Well I can relate! I'm patiently waiting on bf to propose (ring is picked out and possibly ordered..I think lol). We've both agreed to get married south for financial reasons and we also just want to be different. My mother is super excited and cannot wait for it to happen... my MIL on the other hand was told today that we were going to be engaged soon and that we want a DW. Her immediate reaction was "there are other ways of doing a wedding at home without it costing a fortune. You don't have to do a huge sit down meal, or invite 100 people.." Basically she doesn't want to go south and leave her precious garden (we're planning a June wedding). We've agreed that we're doing it for US and even if we only have 15-20 people, we'll be happy. Why is there always someone who has to bash your decisions!?

Great thread and planning! I had a question about the hanging round lanterns at your reception.. did you bring them and get the WC to hang them? Or did the hotel have them and you paid extra? I'm wondering if I should order some online and bring them..?

Hey all.. quick update. It's been what..6 months since I signed up here. We have an apt tonight to go check out diamonds for a ring!!!!!! I never thought I'd break him.. seriously. While I want to show him what I like, I still want him to buy/ask me with some kind of surprise factor. I know it will only be a matter of time and I expect it, but let's hope he can figure something out that's original! Will keep you all updated haha
