I got married on August 14th at a private villa overlooking MoBay. She went above and beyond....Hope this helps! I'm getting married 8/14/10...how was the weather?

  3. I am having the same feelings also. It just seems that everythng about Beaches is a hassle from the no outside vendors policy to the time that you have to waste planning due to not being able to contact the WC. I have actually considered changing to Moon Dance Villas. I am so so so confused!!!
  4. As far as I know the WC fees are contingent upon your budget for the wedding but I can be wrong.
  5. This is something that I have been struggling with also. Not only do we want great pics but we also want a lot of them to capture the entire wedding and reception. We also want video of everything too. At this point we are considering flying in a photographer and/or videographer but of course we are concerned about costs. I am also considering finding someone from jamaica and just pay for the 3 nights but I am not sure if this will be allowed. Ugh...this is so stressful!!!
  6. I would love fireworks also but not for that price.
  7. Great idea!! Never thought about something like this.
  8. I completely agree with you. I recall reading on the Beaches site that they move the ceremony and/or reception inside if the weather doesn't permit.
  9. This is a very good question... I will be so outdone if rains.
  10. Not sure if it's a thread anywhere on here referencing this but I am unable to find. I am getting married at Beaches Negril and I think it will be beneficial for me to have a planner other than the one provided by the Resort. If anyone can recommend a planner I appreciate it. Thanks.
  11. Good Luck. I am also a Beaches Bride and this photographer situation is stressing me out.
  12. I'm getting married at Beaches Negril....one question-Can I choose a local photographer from Jamaica and just add them as a guest for the 3 days and use them as my photographer. If so that would be great !!!

And then, a few hours later, my guests and I are going to be going OFF THE RESORT PROPERTY with Alain Hottat of Brian Nejedly Photography (Brian is an American Photographer that lives in Ocho Rios, so you don't have to pay travel fees -- he's already there and he's been a DREAM to deal with so far! Total professional!) Alain will be taking us to both a beach location and a falls location to do some portrait shots with our guests in my ceremony dress (and then I'll change for a TTD session, just my FI and I) right around sunset. And I think you will be shocked by how reasonable his prices are....check out his site at Jamaica Wedding Photographer - Brian Nejedly. Hope that helps! That's a good idea to use the resort photogapher for just basic pics and then hire an off-site photographer and go off-site for more detailed pics. Great info and I love the photographers website. I may consider this as an option also.
  14. I can't wait to see what the MS Wedding packages look like. I look forward to possibly using one of them.
