Traveling With Dress
inspiredfyre replied to jenninjamaica's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I just came back from my wedding less than a week ago, we flew with American Airlines, and when we called they said it was considered carry on, as well as when we actually got to the airport. we decided to ask again, since we had to check in a few extra pieces of luggage, got the same answer, no problem! Well, here's the thing....the captain's "closet" isn't the same aboard every plane. The first one was great, and they were super accomodating and helpful...after the layover, the plane was smaller, and they had a box like closet they held it in, and sort of folded it. A garment bag is definitely needed after you hear this.....hold on to your seat..and i will preface this by saying the flight attendant was very lucky I had already worn my dress(es). So the last flight home, there were two flight attendants. after 3 other flights taken on the trip, one of them said it was no problem to hold it in the closet, the other said no, because they had to wait for an entire BOOKED PlANE to store their luggage, then I could come back to see if there's room!!!! It wasn't even the overhead :x So she let me shove it behind these seats, that had a small hook behind it, and I seriously had to TRI FOLD my bag!! She kind of shoed me away to handle it, and as people were coming in at a rapid rate, i didn't want to hold the line...i angrily walked away and watched her the whole time from my seat in the back. I kept having this awful feeling like I should go back and check on it, but fi thought i was being ridiculous....oh, no i wasn't, i really wasn't!! I got my garment bag back after waiting 2 hours...and it was extra heavy at the bottom for some reason...and then I see fabric coming out of the bag!!! MY GARMENT BAG WAS RIPPED!! Serious Both dresses were double bagged in the bags they come in, so that took some real effort...Then, i notice that the reason it is so heavy is that one of my dresses came off of the hanger, and was left at the bottom, crumpling!! So awful!! Anyway, not to deter you guys from carrying it on, it is feasible, just guard your dress no matter what, I don't want you guys to get that lady who probably did that to me on purpose!! the end...sorry for ranting on your thread, i couldn't help it, i hadn't let that out to anyone yet!! -
Shoes Help!!
inspiredfyre replied to Lindasmith's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
aaaaand....drum roll.....number one it is!! Lol, you seem to have a fan base for shoe 1!!! Either way, go with your instinct, and don't stress...it'll look great no matter what, you'll forget what shoes you're wearing once you feel the magic of your wedding day -

inspiredfyre replied to A2Bride's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Yay, congrats!! What a good feeling, huh? after numerous trips and decisions, I kind of wish I had searched for used gowns, but I went into david's bridal after 2 unsuccessful non refundable dresses, and came out with one...then a month later, another!! lol, david's bridal has some gems if you keep searching, you just have to give them a whirl!! -
YES!! that sounds awesome, fi wore a turquoise/teal tie, and we got so much positive feedback, it'll look stunning in photos!! Why not have some fun? Try express, they have an amazing selection of brightly colored ties, also etsy.com is the best place for stuff like they, you can also ask for it to be custom made!! good luck!!

Im going off the DEEP END
inspiredfyre replied to girlkin's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I completely understand where you're coming from. I myself was a four dress bride...I got so wrapped up in all these details, and all these things that you think are so important...and then you get to your wedding day, and you remember why you're getting married, and suddenly, all those pesky little irritants that get us so bothered melt away, and all you care about is the man you're saying "I do" to. So don't worry, you actually look beautiful in both dresses!! Believe it or not, the first one you think is a train wreck isn't that bad at all!! You'll have an amazing wedding even if you wore a trash bag, I promise Keep your head up, and don't second guess yourself. All will be ok!!! Best of luck! -

Yes, I agree with Semistar however, in the fact it was somewhat cheesey and plain looking, and the frosting, a fondant was kind of strange tasting, but the cake? Tasty!!

Hello gals! I just got married here on Monday, and the resort is just fantastic! Regarding the chuppa on the beach (smaller gazebo like structure) is at the far right of the beach, and have since added LOTS of chairs...we had plenty of guests, not our own of course, looking over us, and it was a little awkward i must say!! I would just talk to cecilia before hand to see if those can be moved in further away....not sure about the other site, she didn't offer that one to us! Keep in mind it was just me and fi! I will try posting pics as soon as i can! Also, as i was just there, yes, it does get really windy, if you plan on having your hair down, just be prepared....with hairspray, lol!!

How have you completed your transaction?
inspiredfyre replied to jessbgauvin's topic in Buy / Sell / Trade Archives
what a fantastic thread, i am so glad someone asked this! As a first time seller, I find it very important for the buyer to feel it's a legitimate sale, and that I also will be paid for the goods I wanna sell! I never worried too much, but you never know. I also am a paypal advocate! -

Either would be an ideal location. Sarasota has plenty to do, and it is beyond gorgeous. The atmosphere is perfect for a wedding, I was proposed to on longboat key, which is a very short drive from there. I'm a total fan, and got to see a wedding from afar on the beach...it looked lovely at sunset! Siesta key might have prettier water, like Longboat, but whatever you choose you will not be disappointed!

How did you lose weight before your wedding?
inspiredfyre replied to inspiredfyre's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
oh, and yes mrs.2010!!! I stuck to the hcg diet for 4 full weeks. less than 2 grams of fat a day, less than 600 calories, and a gallon and a half of water, with 5 small "meals" a day! That's how I lost nearly 17 pounds the first time!! While it worked, there were drawbacks. Even though I felt pretty good drinking a lot of water, the lack of calories and fat worked against me while I was working. I'm a manager for a VERY busy retail store, and running around with that little food made me a little dizzy, even with the hcg hormone to protect. So hopefully you are able to find better results! Going off and on that diet several times, I so much prefer my healthy fats, like nuts and oils!! Plus, I felt a little too weak to even work out, so even if I lost weight, I'd still feel a little flabby!! :/ Best of luck, and don't hesitate to ask any questions, I have done it all regarding it. I did the injections, too if you were wondering! Very non pleasant at first!! -

WOW! thank you ladies for all the great feedback! I seriously appreciate it so much!! It's a week later, and I am doing okay! Down only 3 pounds, but I am now satisfied with that. JennaLynn, I truly appreciate what you were trying to get at, and after so long I realized it on my own! I can only do so much within so little time. Goals need to be realistic. I have tried a lot of things, hcg combined with extreme low calorie diets, and am now simply sticking to lots of intense cardio each day, combined with a healthy structured diet (ehhh, with a few cheating little snacks here and there ;D ) and tons of water!!! ...also, really interesting tip about the dandelion root ssnm, I was wondering why a diuretic would help, but I will definitely take that into consideration, being a huge water drinker, I also partake my coffee with splenda, so I need to immediately nix that!! I am happy to also report that I am trading the stress in for 2 detoxifying wraps that guarantee at least 6 inches lost before the wedding!!! I made the appointments for next week, so please cross your fingers!! even if it's temporary, i will be able to get back on track after we come home. Also, whats the bulging brides What channel is that on, because id definitely love to watch it!!
