  1. Adorable! Love the way you incorporated some color, too.
  2. I like the first one. Simple, yet eye-catching without overdoing it.
  3. Very cute ideas and a great use of vistaprint. I'm definitely bookmarking this page for when I get around to some of the wedding day details.

Hope everyones planning is going well! I'm just waiting on invites, which I'll share once they are done! Thanks, LDeeken. We'll definitely check them out...and see if they have any availability this late in the game
  5. This thread is too adorable. There is no way I can show this to my FI or I will never hear the end of it. He desperately wants a dog, but until we have jobs where we can guarantee we'll be around for the dog or once we are no longer living in a little home in the middle of the city with very little yard, I just feel like it wouldn't be fair to the pet. No?
  6. I'm a consultant, providing financial management support to the federal government and my FI is an attorney. Which are basically two of the four jobs they have in DC - attorneys, consultants to the government, government employees, and staffers who work on Capitol Hill.
  7. I like the pink. It isn't overdone and adds a little something special.
  8. T&C is absolutely stunning. It has the clearest, bluest, warmest water i have ever swam in. You will have such an amazing time. Congrats and welcome to the forum!
  9. I think I need to pick my jaw up from the ground. This is unbelievable. Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting! I really need to get a move on now!! Wow, you really did an amazing job!
  10. Thank you ladies for all of your recommendations. Now I just have to decide between all of them!
  11. Thanks for sharing! This is exactly what I'm looking for. Something welcoming, informative, simple, and sweet. You nailed it. Thanks!
  12. Those look wonderful! I love the color scheme, too. I think that's the first set I've seen that focuses on the golden/sun hue. Great look!
  13. i was too late, i'll go off the one before me... drinking : tea
  14. (there are over 13,000 posts on this thread) fun : sun
  15. We didn't do a letter, but I think it sounds like a great touch. Along with the STD card, we also included our wedding website on a little business card (thank you, vistaprint) where the guest could go for additional information as well as our "welcome and come to our wedding" pitch.... We also included the travel agent's list about the hotel along with sample prices so people had a good idea of what it would cost. We had three main ones made up - from Chicago (close to my family), from NY (his family), and DC (where we live). That way, depending on where the guest lived, we sent them the closest price sheet.
  16. Congrats and welcome! I'm sure there are a lot of beautiful churches in the area, especially since it is so highly populated by Catholics. However, if you are thinking of doing something all within a hotel, you can have the priest come to you. I know, for example, at the Iberostar where we're getting married, you have the option to get married on the beach, under the gazebo, or in the chapel. The chapel is pretty from what I can tell on photos as well. Also, the packages give you the option to have a judge, priest, etc. marry you, so you could always arrange for a priest to marry you. And if you wanted to bring one with you, you can arrange for that as well. Hope this helps! By the way, I think a lot of the hotels are like this, but I'm just speaking for the Iberostar.
  17. Welcome to the forum and congrats! There are so many San Fran themes you could incorporate too, especially when it comes to favors. Who wouldn't like a favor of Ghiradelli?
  18. Hi ladies - quick question. Does anyone know of a videographer that they are hiring outside of Iberostar? I was up in the air about having the ceremony filmed until recently. So now I'm sort of scrambling to look into it with only a couple months to go. I know that Ibeorstar has a little videographer crew, and I could go with that, but if any of you have any recommendations other than the Iberostar one, I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

I love the Somewhere over the Rainbow by Israel as well, but Falling Slowly is certainly original. And I like to think that I knew about it before it made it big, whether or not it's true. I just know I had been listening to it since Once came out and the next thing I know, they win an Oscar for it and they're big news. Heehee. We already planned on having Falling Slowly during dancing at the reception, but since you suggested walking down the aisle to it, I think I'll be considering that instead!
