  1. It's actually a wee bit stressful trying to find someone to look after the four-legged children. I'm in the same boat as the other girls - all my sitters are coming with us! And you can't just leave them with just anyone Lisa

Word of mouth or are you doing a program?
  3. Another January 2010 bride, welcome! Jamaica should be a blast for you, congrats.
  4. Being frugal does not mean you have to skimp on things you'd like, or quality. It just means you have to be creative about some things. It's so true though, when you're pressed for time, you don't always have the luxury to shop around and do inadvertantly end up buying something more expensive, which leads to the later "d'oh" moment.
  5. So THAT'S what they're called. This is a useful thread; i'm glad it's been resurrected. Lots of stuff to try out. The only problem is if they show up right before the wedding .. then what do you do? They're painful as heck and glare like mount vesuvius!
  6. gorgeous photos. Was the sequence of him across the bridge with his back turned a "first look?" If so, i almost teared up looking at them. Congrats!

  8. Hey all! I'm Jocelyn, born in Winnipeg, mostly raised in Winnipeg but have lived in all western provinces. A bit of a nomad really, now settled back in Winnipeg after my degree. We're headed to the Mayan January 2010 to get the frack out of the land of ice and snow (umm, hello .... - 40 Celsius with windchill last winter!?) Happy planning everyone.
  9. love how they aren't "typical" looking and are totally wearable again after the wedding.
  10. Nice. I was thinking group orders would be the way to go, as we could get better deals on things being shipped to the same place. When do you need to know about the mugs?
  11. Great thread, i'm glad i stumbled onto it. We just picked up our OOT bags at Dollorama for $2/each, and they are a brown and blue burlap-type bag (they had other colors too). For our wedding party, I got really nice canvas bags at Chapters for 75% off right now. Does anyone think it's tacky to ask other people to check bags full of wedding stuff for you?
  12. We bought nicer bags for the bridal party, and then cheaper (but still nice) bags for the guests. I'm glad to see that people are generally doing one bag per couple. I wasn't sure if i was being cheap or not by doing that. We are doing 1 big item (mugs) and then a bunch of smaller stuff too. I also hope to do a welcome brochure to put in it too. How is everyone handing them out once they get to their destination?
  13. Congratulations. Those are totally gorgeous photos.
  14. I'm glad people think to ask these questions. They're always things i'm wondering, but never ask. Now for the other thousand questions.

This peacefulness is making me uneasy. Ha! I wish Enjoy the feeling Keira.
  16. your OOT bags are wicked thoughtful and creative. Love the fact that you personalized everything. Thanks for all the info!
  17. absolutely gorgeous photos. What's amazing is how they really captured the emotion between you two, whether it was the posed or candid photos. I'm stoked because we're using Del Sol for our TTD too!
  18. ooh, very pretty. Use both of them! It can be your yin and yang monograms.
  19. Running of the brides, that's brilliant! I think it's quite funny your fiance had to go and have a snooze after collecting dresses for you. Now that's dedication! Beautiful dress btw.
  20. Maybe you can have the best of both worlds Keira. If your MIL / bridesmaid / FSIL are set on a small bridal shower, you can consider having it as a brunch / supper so it's not super time consuming. This way, they still get to host something for you, and you can have the silly games / fun shower with people who will enjoy it and not be a complete buzzkill. If having the one party with everyone there is important, you can always have the early part with everyone, and then the fun stuff after, so those who don't want to partake can bow out. Totally agreed with autjo - people do get silly with this stuff, and inadvertantly create a stress on you when they shouldn't.
