  1. Awe, I am sooooo sorry to hear about your grandfather! And then to have health issues on top of that, I truly hope you feel better and your year gets better. I am glad you have time to vege!
  2. Your dress looks gorgeous!! I found your picture funny, only because that is how i normally have to take my pictures! ha!! You did much better than I did! Congrats on finding your dress...you will look gorgeous!
  3. You look absolutely amazing in "the one". Congrats, you are going to be such a beautiful bride!
  4. Yes that makes sense. I usually have her cut it straight, in longer layers...and then when I have it curly it is never completely down. I have it either in a ponytail or half up and haf down. It takes too long to straighten my hair everyday and to be honest, if it is humid, rainy, snowy, etc...it is completely pointless to straighten! :-) I have been using a new product for straightening my hair and it works awesome. It does not leave it oily and it looks like i truly have straight hair. After i get out of the shower i put in Pureology antifad complex, superstraight (it is a relaxing serum...blue container). I only do 1-2 pumps of stuff for my hair, too much will make it greasey looking. Then i completely dry my hair. Then in small sections i spray Sebastian Trilliant thermal protection and shimmer complex. This is awesome...it is made especially for hot flat irons. The girl who does my hair has her iron set at 425 only for my hair and i put mine on as high as it will go...it is amazing stuff!!
  5. The salon thing could back fire. I went to one explaining what i wanted to do, they said they knew how to handle curly hair. Well let's just say people with naturally curly hair and those with perms are completely different. i think she was either used to perms or people with less curl than mine. I looked like a frizzy poodle by the time she was done. Luckily i did not let her touch it with scissors! :-) I have tried CHI and it still makes my hair frizz when it is curly...not sure why but it does. Maybe i am doing it wrong, do you use a diffuser and dry it at all?
  6. I use a combination of Paul Mitchell gel and glaze. I mix the two of them together. I do not like that when it dries it has the wet look so i always "crunch" that out. If that makes sense. I have a routine too, i put it in my hair, then let it air dry for 10-20 mins, then blow dry with difusser, then wet it a little where it is frizzy, then dry again. Here is a picture of my hair in my first wedding (yes this is my second...i saved the best for last) Not the best picture as i took a picture of a picture, but it will give you an idea of what i am talking about. THe curls hanging down is what my hair looks like normally. Alhtough my hair is shorter now.
  7. I too have very similar hair. Takes 2 hours to flat iron mine, so I do not do that very often and I know it would frizz anywhere that is humid!! I have straightened it, opened up the bathroom door after someone took a shower, and poof it was frizz city!! I have had several people do my hair for weddings...and honestly I can do it better because i know how to handle it...like do NOT try to brush or pick through my hair after it is dry! I plan on having a few curls hang down in the front, sides, and back and then put the rest up...with the top of my hair having curls. Does that make sense? I will use the same product I always use...a gel/glaze mixture.
  8. I am sure she will let us know. She posted the winners on BDW for her last contest, they were all super excited! I cannot wait. :-)
  9. I am with you, I have been checking all day long!! Good luck to everyone and congrats to the bride to be she chose!! Your pictures will be gorgeous!
  10. Hi Shonda! Welcome and congrats! Happy planning...
  11. That is sad...I am glad we will be able to see it and enjoy it! Thanks for recommending it TA Maureen! :-)
  12. Ha!! Sounds like you are doing very well on your check list!! I am hoping to get our invites out next weekend!! So how many people does everyone have booked? We are having the issue of a lot of our friends are "waiting" until the price goes down and/or they get their tax return money back! That is totally cutting it close and making me nervous, so now i really want to do our invites! What were your RSVP dates?
  13. Oh my....does that happen often? That is where we are going for our honeymoon...
  14. Love your pictures. The one with the two of you crossing the road kissing is absoltuely adorable!! p.s. i loved your heals in the one pic! Your photographer did an amazing job, the two of you look happy and in love!!
  15. We are getting married in the middle of March and plan on sending our invites out next weekend!! I have been sooooo busy that I have not even had a chance to think about it. We sent out our STD's back in Oct, so everyone knows about it. Although at that time we had a ton of people say they were going to go...but have yet to see all of them book. I know money is tight, and some are waiting for tax return time. :-)
