YAY!! For getting info, The $400 fee is a new thing they tacked on. If you put your deposit down before the new fees took place you def should not need to pay this. So Novemeber or before I believe but don't quote me on that one. Not sure about number 2 Number 3 it depends on what package you chose for the sound system. If not you have to pay additional for this. Sorry not sure about the restaurants either providing a dance floor.

They are $15 per child Zulma told us when we are on our site visit.

The norm outside of the resort for 7 fire dancers for a 30 min show was $1000!!!!! However every Friday night at the Blue Parrot there is a fire show. They are on late though like 11pm. You do have to pay the cover charge to get in so it might not be any cheaper depending on if you want to have your guests pay for the cover and you cover the cost.

  9. I love the second dress - I think a halter top really makes it more destination and it has the beautiful beading at the top. The roushing on the side gives the dress a really nice dress.

There is just the fee for the justice of the piece which is $400 and the marriage license is included. Don't forget also about the required $170 per couple for the blood work and xrays. You don't have to choose one of the packages. You can do everything a la carte if you like and pick individually. You will get a wedding check list where you choose everything you want and total up all the prices.

Also though by the way they do a vegetarian dish. You just let your WC how many vegetarians and than note it on the place card.
  13. Thank you for such a wonderful review with pics! The pics really make it and just show how beautiful everything came out. Congrats! be sure to post the pro pics when they come out
  14. Hi Ladies, So for tables the most you can have is 10 seats. However on our site visit Zulma suggested only 8 to a table. We went and looked at the tables and they are very tight if you go over 8. You can do a table for two for just the bride and the groom. So for the ceremony Lady Di not sure again another thing that seems to change all the time. I was told 30 minutes but you may be right on the 15 I think its just something we will have to figure out once we get there. They also told us on our site visit you can have two options for food as long as you color coordinate the place cards just to reiterate what was said above. Unfortunetly I was told to bring an outside florist you do have to pay the $100 fee even if it's just for the bouquets. The closest actual flower market is in Cancun. However right down the street at the Mega Mart they have a flower section. They had beautiful lillys and stuff. But its taking the risk like you would of any grocery store to see what they have that day and than coordinating the pick up. Could be stressful. I decided to do parasols for the bridesmaids and I am going to be the only one with a bouquet. I agree the price is outrageaous. Not to mention in that heat they won't really last. For the newbies here is the pictures from my site visit, http://www.shutterfly.com/lightbox/v...944dfefaeb216b You will see pictures of the basic setup for the tables which I personally thought looks beautiful. And also in teh basic setup one hurricane for each table is inlcuded. Sorry don't mind the other pics in there from our trip.

I have been working with Carole and has responded well to me and my fiance. But the rates she has given me the internet prices beat which is bothering me a lot anyone else having this problem? Hi Bmlynch wow thats great you got so many booked so far! and congrats on sending your STD out. We have been having the same issue however thats the beauty of working with a TA. Out TA Jill matched against any internet sites if they paid in full. If anyone chose to do a payment plan it was a little more but she did an amazing job at coming as close to the rates as possible. Remember to remind your guests the thing with the internet sites is they usually overbook people. That is a huge problem at a resort that is this popular. With a TA they have a no bump policy your guests are guaranteed to get on that flight and a room at the hotel. And also internet sites do not offer payment plans.

Some of the responses on here seem to say otherwise. Does anyone know if the guests at the Gran need a day pass to come to the wedding and reception? Also, kids are allowed to the wedding, but only to the reception if it is private, correct? As I have said, we just started this process and are crazy in trying to book our wedding for June 2010! So any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks! Hi and welcome! No guests staying at the Gran Porto do not need to pay for passes for the actual wedding. They will be able to come to the Royal 30 minutes before your ceremony starts. If you have guests who are not staying at the Royal or Gran the rate will be more for them for the actual ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. However guests at the Gran Porto will not be able to come over to The Royal for anything else besides the wedding unless they purchase a day pass. The rates for the day passes are always changing so you won't know until you get there. There is one exception, guests at the Gran that get the highest level room are free to use both resorts. You are correct children are allowed to go to any wedding related activities as long as it's a private event. 4 months away! this is the best resource and will help with with everything. Happy Planning!
  17. everything looks wonderful!!! So looking forward to seeing everything come together and see your pro pics

Hi Lynn, They are on the pricer side and certainly more expensive than the resort. However their food is amazing quality and their chef is wonderful. It is the open bar that really makes it expensive. The price can be anywhere from $50 to $100 per person depending on what you do. They do have some other less expensive options like an out door bbq but again with the open bar you would still be look at about $50 per person. I hope this helps.

Also, do you guys know who is in charge of setting up our table scapes for the cocktail hour and reception? For those of you who are planning on using lounge furniture, we are planning on going with the furniture that the Royal provides for the 250 fee and adding various pillows in our colors to splash it up a bit. After looking at all of the options, seemed to be the best, most cost effective one for us. Also, if anyone else is looking for a venue for another event (rehearsal dinner, etc) I dealt with both The Blue Parrot and Wickys Beach Club (Thanks for the suggestions, Jesmcan!) and they are both VERY professional and willing to work with whatever budget you give them. We ended up booking a private, beachfront, casual lunch at Wickys for 60 people the day before the wedding as our rehearsal event as we wanted something relaxed and fun and totally diff than the plated 4-course dinner we will have at the wedding. We are not paying what is listed on the websites- I gave them a per person price and they came back with a different menu that was perfect for us. Anyway, also thought it was better to have it offsite in case The Royal books up so we/they dont have to pay a day pass fee. Then everyone can have that evening to themselves while we take our bridal party and families on an excursion. Thanks to everyone on here for your advice and suggestions- SUCH great help. Also, thanks for the positive vibes- you guys are right- I'm sure we will all be so happy with how everything turns out! Happy Planning- YAY! yes Wicky's is wonderful - we are also doing a dinner the night before for 60 guests, they let us custom our menu. I wanted to do a cocktail style event and we are ending the evening with fire dancers. Not sure if you have been there but it is very private and right on the beach! Ladies they are willing to work with he, just as an example here is the menu we ended up with, Shrimp Cocktail Shooters with Horseradish Gazpacho Displayed in Ice Ceviche Shooters Wicky Slider Burger Bar with All the Sides Parmesan Truffle Fries Housmade Chips & Salsa Salad Station With Three Salad Choices Hearts of Romaine, Croutons & Grated Parmesan With Caesar Dressing Mixed Salad Greens, Smoked Bacon, Tomato, and Crouton With Avocado-Buttermilk Dressing and Balsamic Vinaigrette Fresh Mozzarella, Sliced Tomato, and Julienne Basil With Balsamic Reduction & Basin Infused Olive Oil Oysters on the Half Shells Shooters Mine Crab Cakes Shooters Jumbo Shrimp Shooters and Bite Size Dessert Station plus open bar Linda was wonderful to work with they are very professional and responsive there.
