Hi ladies, thank you so much to all The Royal brides who have been giving so much helpful information. We are going for our site visit this November and right now The Royal is our top choice. We were origially thinking of doing a non-resort reception but we have found so far for what we are looking for it is more expensive to go this way. Has anyone else encountered this? Also did anyone use the photographers provided by The Royal? Sorry if this is already posted some where I would not find it. Besides the Gazebo and beach I have heard some brides say The Royal also has a garden where you can do the cocktail hour? Thanks everyone and if anyone needs anything while I am on my site visit please don't hesitate to ask. I will take lots of pictures.

Hi, we are also doing a site visit in Novemeber and staying at La Tortuga near 5th ave. I also think you can get a feel for a place by just seeing it. We are planning to look at the rooms while we do our site visits. I also think it is a good idea to check a place out during the day but also at night depending on your venue. One of the places we are looking at is the Blue Parrot but it has the beach club right next door which turns into a night club. I want to see if the music would be an issue during our reception. You can also see how private a location may be with out having to stay there. Good luck! let us know how your site visit goes.

Hi Jen, How is your research going? We are also planning a non-resort in Playa. We are going on a site visit in November and looking at all the same places you are. Did you go on your site visit? We are acctually going to be staying at La Tortuga. Let me know if you did not get any information from the above places, I have lots of info. I also have info on other vendors, florists, bakeries, and photographers. Still working on the Mariachi, solo guitarist and I don't know whether to do a DJ or a live band? what have you decided to do? Let me know if you need more pictures of a place or anything in Playa, I can take them for you when I go.

Hi ladies, I am going to Playa for a site visit 11/11/09 - 11/15/09. We are looking at the Blue Parrot, Zenzi, and Mosquito Beach Club, plus checking out The Royal as a place for guests to stay and other boutique hotels. Has anyone had a wedding at the above places? I would love some feed back on anyones experiences? So far Blue Parrot has been wonderful to deal with and I am in love with the photographer they recommended, Vincent from Zazil Studio. Also recommendations on places for guests to say, all inclusive compared to boutique hotels? We will be staying at La Tortuga and have heard the food is wonderful at their restaurant El Bistro. What about getting hair and make up done at a salon in Playa, good, bad ?? And finally thank you to everyone who has been sooo helpful on this forum. Still waiting to get officially signed in. I will take lots of pictures if anyone has requests let me know.

Anyways I am currently planning a destination wedding in Playa Del Carmen for 01/21/2011. I have currently been workin with Irene over at Carribean Blue Weddings. She has been wonderful, I have been asking so many questions and tons of different variations. I just wondered if anyone else has used them before and what your experience was like? I read some other great reviews about them but I wanted to reach out to get more feed back.

I am planning a surpise trip for my finace in November for us to go to Playa and check everything out. We are currently thinking of having our wedding in January.
