To make a really long story short she called me back today after another e-mail I sent out with questions and she got really pushy. She still had not really answered all the questions I laid out for her and she could not remember any of the details for our wedding, she had all the dates and everything wrong. I truelly feel as a WC you need to be well prepared before you call a bride to discuss questions. I understand she probably speaks to so many brides but thats why she needs to review the information before hand. She also just skipped over my questions and I felt as though she was bothered by all my questions. Needless to say this is not working out so thank you ladies for all the info I am going to contact the other WC's. And as you said Adriana incompetent does not even begin to describe it.

Wow Steph, This is just shocking! Thank you for letting us all know. The news has spread like wild fire and all I have to say to this guy is tasteless and Karma. I am really sorry you even had to read something so appalling. It is especially amazing that in todays economy a photographer would even behave like this. And anyways who is to say what the model bride is? Well done and thank you again.

Hi, I just found your post. I had the same problem! Its still is not working. I ended up calling the toll free number for weddings for real resorts and they e-mailed me a pdf of all the pictures. Would love to know what you thought of the pics and if you were able to get a hold of them?

Hi Ladies, I had posted a new thread about this but than realized I really should have posted it here. Has anyone planned or is planning on using the hair and makeup service at the salon at The Royal? It is included in the package that we chose but I hate not being able to have a trial. My biggest fear is that everything would come out horrible and than I would have a melt down.

Hi Ladies, I was wondering if anyone has used the salon services for hair and makeup at The Royal in Playa Del Carmen? It sounds so silly but it is the one in only thing I am really worried about. I have heard horror stories. Thankfully none about The Royal yet. I assume you do not get to run a pre-trial? Would love to hear anyones experiences? Thanks

Hi, We also considered this. We are getting married at The Royal in Playa and they do have more than one wedding a day. However we got the highest package so we could have a totally private wedding. I also spoke to lots of other brides who said it was never an issue. I also think it depends if you go during high season or not. Best of luck with narrowing the choices. It was the toughest part for us

Hi BlieLena, I was also thinking one maybe you could check out a candy shop down there and see if they have any ideas? Also did you look into possibly getting your own maybe on ebay and bringing it down? Sort of a pain I know but always a possibility. Good luck I hope you find one!

What an awsome idea! did you try contacting any of the bakeries in playa? Les Petits Merveillies -Calle 8 btwn Ave 10 & 15th Panaderia del Carmen -Ave 30 btwn Calle 6 & 8 They may do something like this or perhaps can direct you to a candy place that may do this for you. Let us know love the idea

Hi Aerezo, We are doing our pictures before but I know many brides make the cocktail hour for 2 hours so they have enough time for pictures. Also I think when you are on a resort it is perfectly ok for guests to go to the ceremony and maybe go to the bar for a few drinks or freshan up before the reception. Congrats on booking your vendors! we are slowly getting there

Hi Tighty, I just got the rates from DJ Ivan, I cannot believe how cheap he is compared through going through The Royal! Do you recommend doing the same for any other vendors? Did you do mariachis by any chance?

I just got their rates only last month and they offer awsome photography and great rates. Here is the link they sent me for rates http://www.momentsthatmatterphotogra.../PriceList.htm They also reply very quickly. I am really looking forward to having them as our photographers. Thanks I'm not going to use the DJ...I need to save money somewhere, so have my sis in law in charge of putting together music and will just use the sound system hooked up to our Ipods.. As for photographers; I'm not sure about that one. I know what you mean, we are trying to save where we can to. Well happy planning, and yes this site is so helpful. Congrats and welcome! we are also getting married in Playa in November 2010 We are working with TA Jill who is awsome! We are giving our guests three choices, The Royal Playa Del Carmen - 5 star adults only The Gran Portal - Family friendly right next door to the Royal, it is part of the same resot chain as The Royal The Real - Budget Friendly only a few blocks away from the other two what is so nice about these hotels is they are right in Playa so everything is in walking distance. Congrats 2010 Brides! We just changed our date from January 2011 to November 12th 2010. We are getting married in Playa Del Carmen at The Royal. We are still waiting for pricing from our TA who says for the date the rates will come out in November. We are however going for a site visit this upcomming November which we are looking forward to. Hi, We are acctually doing our pictures before the ceremony we are getting married at 5pm. I don't want to miss the sun for pictures We also decided it would be nice to have our time together during the chaos. We are than having the cocktail hour at 6pm followed by the reception from 7pm - 12am. We are having the mariachis play during the cocktail hour. Originally this was diffrent because we were planning a non-resort wedding in playa. So we were going to have guests just go to a bar for a drink. We ended up deciding on the The Royal Playa Del Carmen because we want a more private affair. Good luck! Let us know what venue you end up picking.
