My guess is that they won't lower significantly - after all the resort is 5 star and all-inclusive. But that's just my hunch...I don't plan on booking through the hotel, it's MUCH cheaper to go through a website where you can get package deals (if not going through a travel agent). You can almost get a package for the price of just the room, through the resort. I do know that November isn't considered their high season, though... Hi Trinas, how many of your guests have booked so far? None of ours have they have all just started to contact our travel agent this week.

It is a policy because of the other guests there I found this out from another bride who got married at the royal and tried to have it extended but no luck.

Personally I'm sick of the tons and tons of emails with long paragraphs and having to dig through them for the answers. A FAQ page would be incredible for them. Just update it as they answer them. Here's the BIG PROBLEM - apparently they only have 7 rooms left at the Royal for our wedding weekend and I need ~15-20 and ~15-20 at the GP. Hmmmm. For you all with big groups, make sure they have plenty of vacancy. Whe is your wedding! we have over 120 people coming

I am considering starting a website to help destination brides. To be the middle person that chases after people to get the info and the answers. Its stressful enough planning from thousands of miles away ahaha

Thanks! Adriana I am planning to cut it before the end of the night two hours after dinner. we only have our photographer for 8 hours and we are doing pictures before so he won't be there till the very end. The cake I got is fondant so I think it depends what kind of cake. If it is the tres leches cake they will bring it our at the time of cutting the cake. It has to be made right before or it will melt. So depends on what you choose. Hope this helps some

I know its frusterating but it has been this way for all of us Have you girls tried calling? I found this tactic works way better recently. Right after I call I ask for them to e-mail me back so I have confirmation in writing. If I don't get it back in two business days they get another nice phone call from me until I do get it

jesmcan replied to Jammy's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
Hi - I was originally looking at the Banyan tree and went on a site visit. The location is absolutely amazing!!! if I did not have so many people this is where we would have ended up. -

So far it is the only place where I have been able to find cool different sandals. Wedge is always awsome for the sand and tall hubbys

She responded to only one of my questions which was in regard to the time of my wedding in May. Her response was: "hi would you like me make the changes to the times of your wedding thanks" Seriously?? Do you guys think that it's worth trying to change coordinators? This is just absurd. I did, I could not stand her. However Angie was not much better. But Doreen, I thought maybe she was on drugs. Every time I called she never knew who I was and got all the info wrong. Along the lines of "oh hi yes your the wedding for 20 people on July 4th" "uhhhhh nooooooo November 12th for 100 people" It was terrible. I was also always sending e-mails with questions and they were never answered. Does anyone know of someone in that office who is competant?

She explained for getting off on the wrong foot and agreed to waive the fee. I'll be sure to save that email!! Needless to say, I am a bit relieved! Lets hope the rest of the planning goes a bit smoother. Thats wonderful news!!! I feel like its the show Man Vs Food but in this case its Bride Vs The Royal and Bride wins yay!!!! lol

FI and I are going to the Royal this May for a site visit (can't wait) and my TA, Jill was able to do price matching for the the early early booking bonus that was being offered by the resort. Another benefit is that her prices include transfers from the Cancun airport which is SO important, esp when you're bringing a bunch of friends and family! Now, on a fun wedding-planning note...FI and are becoming Save the Date machines today! We're doing boarding passes with a little vistaprint magnet attached to the second pass. I think they're so cute and I can't wait to send them out...plus they take my mind off of price changing and communication problems at the Royal! I'm also going dress shopping on Friday so I'm a happy bride Does anyone else have big wedding planning goals for the week? wow thats great you are getting so much done! It is a good idea to give guests a lot of time to plan and save up. We accomplished our first biggest goal, our wedding web site www.jnj.wedsite.com We are going to have the website as a keep sake and put it on a CD after. I also will be going wedding dress shopping next saturday and the saturday after that. Apperantly I am sort of late in the game lol I was going to wait till May but thankfully I called and ask when I should start looking. I found out it takes 6 months just to get the dress and than all the fittings. Well happy shopping and make sure to take pictures to show us
