  1. I am a fan of the show too, even get my FH to watch with me. My girls wanted to head down to Kleinfelds with me to try on dresses. I had to say no, with those gowns priced in the thousands.... definitely not in my budget. I'd rather extend my honeymoon than spend thousands on a dress for a few hrs
  2. They are one pathetic couple, Spedi - what a joke!
  3. Honestly, money is an issue in most relationships. The keys to making it work are to communicate, respect each others views & be willing to compromise I think every little conflict thats positively resolved in a r'ship has a way of drawing the couple closer, and makes those doubts fade.
  4. That dress looks beautiful, especially for a DW. I can see how you might feel pressured since you'll have to order your dress soon. If you have the time & patience it never hurts to keep looking. Just give yourself a deadline and if you don't find something you love more then maybe you'll be more confident in choosing this one? Best of luck.
  5. Hey congrats on becoming an official MRS. Enjoy the next year planning, it goes by so quickly.
  6. Congrats and thanks for the great review. I like how you point out the details, even the less than perfect stuff. I'm sure it will really help out future brides. Love your dress, you look beautiful in the pics, nice choice for a beach ceremony.
  7. Hey Kits55, thanks for sharing your pics. I love the decor, your colors go beautifully with it. Which restaurant was your reception at? Where did you have the ceremony? I'd love to see those pics if you have them. Your bouquet is gorgeous, is that a standard one from the package or did you upgrade?

Done some mini planning and looks like they have some great tours and things to do. The best part is that the wedding package is about $600 cheaper, which helps off set some money we lost. Not impressed with Airtransat charging all my guests more money, but better than losing out!!! Can't wait to go, should be interesting handing out my May 21st, Mexico wedding favours on May 20th in Cuba... lol. My sister has named this the "Cubico" wedding... half Cuban half Mexican...lol Heidi Hey Heidi, You'll love the Barcelo Solymar. I stayed there last new years with some friends and we had fun. The beach is just gorgeous and I recommend the trip to Havana if you haven't already been. One thing to note, the resort is pretty dead at night. If you want nightlife, head out to the local clubs in Varadero for a great night of dancing. The taxis are cheap and it's safe. We went to about 4 different clubs, one was on the beach which was very cool. Let me know if you have any questions about Varadero, I'd be happy to help.
  9. Great to hear you're going ahead with your wedding plans. Have fun and enjoy the big day
  10. Hey Heather, glad that things are working out for your at home wedding. Hopefully you can still have a honeymoon or anniversary at your Mexican resort. Best of luck with the wedding planning.
  11. Hey Jocelyn, welcome to the forum and congrats on your upcoming wedding. Check out this thread in the travel forum on how everyone is dealing with flu outbreak. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t41426-85 Hope you can find alternative flights. I know there are problems with chartered flights cancelling but it seems the major airlines are still offering their regularly scheduled flights for Mexico.
  12. Hi Katie, welcome to the forum. Check out the Mayan Riviera threads, there will be several brides with weddings planned for the Iberostar resorts to help you out.

    Hello!!

Hi Myrna, congrats & welcome to the forum. You'll find several brides here who've had their DWs in the Mayan Riviera.
  15. Hi Lou, congrats on your engagement & welcome to the forum. The Mayan Riviera is an awesome location for a DW with lots of shopping and activities for your guests.
  16. Congrats Shelley! Love the pics, your sand ceremony picture frame is such a great idea!
  17. Happy wedding day Beth! Best wishes to you and hubby for a wonderful long marriage.
  18. Hi Gail, I would have to agree that waiting it out is probably the best option right now. Unless you & your guests have cancellation insurance there could be a lot of $$ lost to switch destinations. I'm a July bride and keeping hope that this will all die down in a few weeks. I can sympathize with the uncertainty of waiting, that is driving us all mad, LOL!
  19. Hey Linette, Welcome to the forum. I'm also a Mexican July bride. Personally, I'm just waiting out this flu situation. IMO there's a very good chance this will all settle down by then and the only worry then will be how to keep from sweating to death in that wedding dress on the beautiful beach
  20. Hey Tonya, Congrats & welcome to the forum. Enjoy the planning.
  21. Congrats Emily! Wishing you a HAPPY WEDDING DAY
  22. Congrats on your engagement & welcome to the forum. Search out the Cancun & Mayan Riviera threads, you should find some brides there who have experienced Catholic ceremonies. Good luck & enjoy your planning.
  23. Congrats & welcome to the forum. You'll find a TON of info on getting married in PDC here. To start, deciding whether you want 'adults only' can really narrow down your resort options.
