  1. I have to admit I wasn't going to do a TTD session. But after reading all of the posts and seeing some amazing pictures from TTD sessions in Jamaica, I think I'm going to try to talk my FI into doing this. Plus, it is not like I'm going to ever wear the dress again. But, then again, it doesn't sound like it necessarily ruins the dress.
  2. Here is the engagement ring. Which has a 2 carat color-changing sapphire...it is a brilliant blue in natural light and a bright purple in incandescent light The band of my ring is mokume gene, which is made using the Japanese art and craft of layered metls. So, the band is acutally made of platinum, palladium, 14K white gold and silver. Our wedding bands will match the band of my engagement ring. The pattern on the engagement ring:
  3. I finally picked this dress (the photo is the advertisement) after trying on a dozen different dresses. I also found that it was much easier to just shop with my mom - too many opinions make it really difficult to pick "the dress"
  4. Wow! Those look so professional. You did an amazing job. I thought about doing a pre-wedidng brochure but didn't even know where to start...Thank you for the template.
  5. Thank you for all the information. It is good to hear that someone has had a good experience at this relatively new resort.
  6. I am so sorry you have to deal with this. But, I commend you on taking the actions you did to protect yourself and your children. There are many women who would not and could not do this. Continue to be strong...for yourself and your children
  7. I think this is what you are talking about...but not positive. My FI and his guys are going to wear guayabera shirts (probably in linen) and linen pants. We are debating about purchasing the outfits at either Penners or Friday Shirts Penners: Guayaberas, Mexican Shirts, Hawaiian Shirts, and Guayabera Shirts Beach Wedding Attire | Guayabera, Guayabera Shirts, Havana Shirts, Mexican wedding shirts, Hawaiian Guayabera Shirts: Beach Wedding Shirts | Guayaberas, Linen Pants, Boys Linen Shirts, Mexican Wedding Shirts.
  8. Thanks for the help. I am going to try this again to post the other image The picture below shows the beach gazebo and a wedding set up next too it with an arch. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3508/...9a2493.jpg?v=0
  9. They are the same ones. I really need to figure out how to post pictures. I looked up the instructions but obviously messed somthing up.
  10. Below is a link that has pictures of the free bouquets that come with the Caprice package...and two options for the beach wedding Pictures by jamaica0619 - Photobucket I am going to hope this works. This is the first time I am posting a photo
  11. We will have been together more than 13 years (since just after I graduated college) and have owned a house together for 8. I did not read all the entries, but from the ones I did read...this might be among the longer time periods.
  12. Thanks for posting this. I have used Shutterfly for a few books, and these prices look much better. And, after looking through the gallery, it looks like there is as much, if not more, flexibility in designing the books.

Birdcage Veil - Birdcage Veils - Photo Gallery This website has pictures, some with feathers, some with flowers. It might give you some ideas? I agree with Helen_S81. A birdcage veil would suit the overall style of the dress and allow you to see the back of the dress...while letting you where a veil. I have to admit I decided against a veil after watching a wedding when I was recently at RMB. The wind was blowing it all over the place the entire time. I think I am just going to wear my hair up with flowers.
  14. In terms of USAir...I travel quite a bit for business using USAir, and I know they just changed their carry on policy and they are being much more strict than they used to be. Also, they are getting rid of thier closets - if you are on an older plane they may have one but the newer ones most often do not. I know when I booked my flight on USAir, carrying the dress on was not supposed to be a problem. In fact, I saw another bride doing so in January. But, with the new policies, I am a little nervous. Also, to let you know, you might have to get the sympathies of the gate agents. They tend to enforce the policy more than the flight attendents. I do not want to add to the stress, but I thought I would pass along what I saw/experienced traveling this past week
  15. We actually booked the Riu Montego Bay before we went down to visit based on a lot of internet research and talking with our TA. But, we were really happy with it. The resort was very nice, and the people were also very nice and extremely helpful. The food was hast we expected given it is buffets. We are very happy with our choice. It met all of our expectations and exceeded quite a few of them as well. The only downside (and it is extremely minor) we actually heard was that the resort is along the flight path, so we are going to predict having at least a couple planes flying overhead during the wedding. We met with Chantelle (the WC) while we were there to get a sense of options. And, the options are pretty much limited to what she can physically do and what you want to spend.
  16. We are doing OOT bags. I am still determing the contents, but I am getting some great ideas from the forum. I want to wait until I have a better idea of how many guests are coming to determine how much I want to spend per bag before finalizing the contents. For favors at RMB and for the AHR, we plan to do donations to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of our grandmothers
  17. I would have never thought of using a monogram, until looking through the forum. I like the idea of using them for the OOT bags. Thank you all for the great ideas!
  18. Great information. I went to visit RMB early in January to see the resort before my wedding in June and wish I had known about it then. I have to see if I can get credit for my stay.
  19. The flowers are beautiful. I agree with the others...I would go with the smaller one.
