  1. First, I am so so sorry. There is nothing more nerve wracking that not getting along with MIL and trying to include her as much as you can without both of you (or FI) tearing eachother apart. With that said, I also agree with Inked-- extend the olive branch with the invite, but definitely don't go out of your way to try and include her when it is not something that you or FI are wanting to do. Involve those that want to be involved, and will be excited and helpful-- not negative, and possibly drama inducing. On the "friend" issue-- think of it this way: if she brings along a friend instead of coming alone, there will be someone for her to spend time with instead of potentially being a downer or trying to monopolize you or FI for the week. Good luck girl!
  2. NUmber #1-- MAKE A LIST. It will save your life. Add to it, or get rid of things-- but as you check things off the stress will just float away. First-- Destination choice Second-- Resort picks (2 back-up choices, JUST IN CASE) Third-- Start plugging through these threads and look for: - invite inspiration - STD etiquette - start looking for OOT bag stuff (cheaper at end of summer) Most importantly-- Remember to enjoy every moment. While planning is by-far the most stressful part, it can also be some of the most fun. Get creative, and have fun!
  3. OMG-- so excited to find this thread!!! I love SYTYCD!!! GO JANETTE! She's my fav!

It was an absolute riot, and no one was afraid to get on the dance floor after that. 2) We hired salsa dancers to come in and give a lesson about two hours after the party started, just to give the dancing another burst of energy. It worked, and the dancing lasted for another 2 hours. 3) As stated here, you and the groom have to take the lead. The DH made it a point to dance with each of the guests. No one can say no to the bride and groom. Have fun! You're party will be great. I COMPLETELY agree with this! Icebreaker is necessary to get everyone comfortable-- If you dance, they will dance.
  5. Okay, I managed to upload this one from the University-- DEFINITELY not as spicy as some, but I love it!

We really want to do it, but I can't ruin my dress, only cause of the reception, and his parents arn't coming down to the wedding, so I feel like I need to look just they way I did at the wedding :S It's not quite taffeta, but has really similar features (and probably cleans similarly) The sand actually brushed right off of it once it was dry-- I just hung it in our room until I could brush it off, and then I packed it up for departure. If you are really concerned with how it will turn out, I suggest getting another dress to do your TTD sesh in. That way you can give the photos your "all" without worrying about damaging your actual dress. Best of luck, I'm sure they will be gorgeous either way!

Can't wait to see pics and hear your review!! xoxo
  8. We actually bought them in two-packs from the Dollorama her in Calgary for $1.50/pk. They were AWESOME all week! I will post pics asap. Our guests LOVED them and they were everywhere-- even on night after the wedding. lol

To the Ladies who have already done it, Would my dress be completely ruined if I did it and had it cleaned when I got home? :S Having our AHR this weekend, my dress was SUPER sandy and pretty dirty from TTD sesh-- looks IMMACULATE after cleaning. I say do it! If you don't you may regret it-- many of the girls actually say their dresses are cleaner after the TTD than they were after the ceremony.
  10. DH and I made custom 18 oz stadium cups for everyone-- we used large sparkly scrapbook stickers for the girls and permanent black letter for the boys. When we arrived we decorated them all with foam stickers of the beach-- too cute! Anyway-- the foam stickers and the "permanent" black stickers stuck through pools, liquor spills, dishwashers-- you name it they stuck! Purple didn't last the plane ride in. My word of advice (and a cheap / easy solution) USE FOAM STICKERS!
