    Newbie!!

Welcome and happy planning. The Grand Palladium is a newer resort right? My dad said he saw it when he was in Jamaica last time and he said it was beautiful. I hope you have a great wedding!
  2. Congratulations and welcome to the forum. You are in the right place. There's a wealth of information on here. It's great that you've got 2 years to plan. It gives you lots of opportunity to do things and not feel rushed!
  3. Welcome to the forum! I went to Varadero a few years back and loved it.

Welcome to the forum. Happy planning!
  6. Welcome! Good luck with your planning. There's lots of info on make sure you do a search. I'm getting married in Jamaica so I don't know how helpful i can be!
  7. The dollar store has them. You could probably get an engraving kit at an arts & crafts place

Also, since we'll already be married will our Jamaica wedding be just a symbolic ceremony or is it renewal of vows? I'm sure there are more to follow, but those are the tops on for now.... Thanks in advance! Happy planning! It's a personal choice. We are thinking of having a civil union here first in December (for income tax purposes lol). Our actual wedding is in Jamaica in January. I amnot counting our civil wedding as our wedding date.
  9. Those are BEAUTIFUL! I have no idea how to sew. What to make some for me? Just joking. Honestly you did a great job though!
  10. I agree that $200 is pretty standard for a BM dress. That's about what my girls spent.
  11. We are having our engagement party in a couple of weeks. A couple of people have asked if they should be bringing gifts. We've told them no, that gifts aren't required but then they ask "but what is everyone else doing?". We have no idea. My dad sent out the invites for this since he's hosting and they did not mention our registry on the invites (no big deal). We are also having a shower in late November (the girls insisted) I honestly have no idea what to expect at the engagement party. My cousin insists that people will give us cash and presents but i see this as pretty unlikely considering how much the trip cost! It doesn't matter to me either way, but i won't lie...gifts would be fun lol
  12. Our wedding is at 1pm. We are planning on doing photos right after. Dinner will be held at 6. We still can't decide if we should have a private reception at the beach or the pool or have a semi-private reception at the steakhouse...
  13. I can relate!!! I tried on so many dresses before I chose mine and now i'm not even sure I like it. I have my first fitting on halloween...eek
  14. I have to admit that I had never heard of a sand dollar. I googled it and it looks cool. What would you use it for? Just decoration?
  15. It doesn't look like these ship to Canada So sad because I really liked them!
