  1. That's a good idea about putting a wood plank under...I never would have thought of that. I'm just wearing flip flops or going barefoot
  2. If you still have the catalouge could you please send it to me as well? [email protected] ...thank you!

  5. I found the easiest way was to just search key words for things I wanted information on... Sometimes it takes a while but I usually find what i need. Sorry I couldn't help more
  6. Thank you!!! I've been browsing the site all day. There is so much information on here!
  7. Does ROR supply pretty much everything or will we need to bring our own decoration stuff? What did all of you bring?
  8. We are getting married at Riu Ocho Rios on January 22, 2010. We fly down on January 17. We are a group of about 32 plus 6 kids or so. Originally we had planned on going with the Caprice Package, because in 2009that package included pictures. The 2010 package doesn't include photography anymore, which is kind of a bummer but what can you do. Anyways, since the Caprice package cost the most $$$ we were just going to go with the semi-private dinner at the Maumee (sp?) steakhouse. However, I was wondering...if the dinner is semi-private how do you do the first-dance and whatnot? I'm wondering if it makes more sense to go with the free package and maybe pay extra for the private dinner...which is looking like it's going to cost a small fortune.. So I guess my questions are: 1) Can you have a first dance if you choose the semi-private option..and if so where do you have it? 2) Are the private receptions really worth it? 3) Did any of you brides go with the Caprice package...and was it worth it? 4) We are thinking of taking our guests on a few excursions...who do you think it's best do plan this with? Sorry for all the questions!!!
  9. We booked our January 2010 rates through Sunquest back in February 2009. I contacted A LOT of travel agents before I found someone who would work with me. Even more frustrating was that back in January 2009 I emailed ROR asking for confirmation that we could have our wedding during the week we would be there. They responded back that they wouldn't be doing any bookings for the actual weddings until March 2009. The first week of March I emailed them and there was only 3 timeslots left to have my wedding, and I had already paid! It's all working out now, but it definately took a bit of work to secure a wedding date. I can't say that I'm totally happy that we are flying down on Sunday and not getting married until the Friday, but cest la vie! Good luck.
  10. I'm getting married Jan 22, 2010. Does anyone know if this deal still applies? My travel agent said we didn't qualify for free invitations
  11. I'm interested in this too. We are also going to the Mammee for dinner but I have no idea what to do after.
  12. We've finally booked. Flying on January 17th and getting married on January 22nd at Riu Ocho Rios! Any other January 2010 brides out there?
  13. I really wanted to go to the RIU Palace Tropical Bay too! I was getting quotes around $2500 which is just too much to ask people to pay. That's why I went with the RIU Ochos Rios. It looks good and judging by the site a lot of people from this forum have gone there. Thanks for your feedback!
  14. Hoping all of you past and/or future ROR brides can help! We've decided we want to get married at ROR January 2010. I've emailed the resort to double check that they can accomodate my wedding that week. How long does it usually take for them to get back to you? 1st Question About Open Bar When I looked at the wedding packages I noticed that you have to pay extra for an open bar for your guests. How is that possible? Isn't it an all inclusive resort? What happens if I don't get an open bar? Does no one drink for the night? Im so confused. I see some packages have "champagne for bride & groom and wedding party...during toast ONLY"...so what happens after that? no drinking?... 2nd Question It asks for a ceremony location...and gives the option of the beach or the gazebo. What's nicer? I always liked the beach option but all I can find pictures of is the "beach gazebo" 3rd Question Are there any January 2010 brides out there? We are going the week of January 16th. Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, would you say $1700 taxes incl. is a good price for January?
  15. Hello Jamaica Brides! Username: isaidyes Name: Meg & Mark Location: RIU Ochos Rios Date: TBD ~ Will be sometime in winter or spring of 2010. Booking this week!
  16. Thanks guys. Were those prices including taxes?
  17. Hi Everyone, My fiancee and I have decided to get married at ROR in either Nov 2009 or sometime in the winter/fall of 2010. We've contacted several travel agents for prices and the lowest price we can get is around 1700/pp. That's perfectly okay with us, but we were hoping to keep it under 1500 for our guests. What do you think is a reasonable price that we can expect people to pay? Is 1700 too much? If you dont mind my asking, what sort of prices did you all pay for ROR (sorry if that offends anyone, if it does, please do not answer) Thanks for your feedback
