  1. It looks great! Its so nice that you will have something that is original and specially made just for you. I agree also about the waist coming in. Is the back going to be a corset? If so, you can just pull the laces very tight. That may help. What about a sash? That may also help define your waist too.
  2. I am doing one. I ordered a bamboo runner. It looks like those bamboo beach mats that you can roll up, but its 50 ft long.
  3. I am feeling the exact same way. I would think an up do would fair worse in the wind, since if it gets blown around it could loosen and get sloppy. My solution is down with lots of volume/loose waves, and gathered to the side. Like a side pony, but down loose and brought in the front. That way I can do it myself, and it doesn't matter if it gets messy. You could easily go from all down, tio the side pony in 2 seconds. Here are my inspiration pics.
  4. Save on Crafts, Wedding Supplies, Flowers, Tulle, Lights, Decorations & Discount Craft Supplies Save-on-crafts I don't know if you guys have shopped there already, but they have such great deals, and they carry EVERYTHING! I'm gonna order my parasols from there. They are only $4.50 and everywhere else they are $7+. They also have cheap vases, flowers, branches, etc. I'm addicted to that site!
  5. Either way, I need to lose a ton of weight, and refuse to look like a sausage in my dress. I'm motivated by that fear if not anything else. At the same token, winning $600 is also a huge motivator. As much as it shouldn't affect us and we should be doing it for ourselves, I still have that prize in the back of my head when I am contemplating say, an ice cream sundae, and it erases that idea. I just think that knowing if I were far away from having a chance of winning, it would be a whole lot easier to eat that ice cream. If you guys look at the rankings, I don't think I want to know where I am on the list.
  6. Thanks guys! I actually didn't get the mantilla. It only had 1 hr on it, and I was the only bidder. Of course at the very last minute, someone else jumped in and outbid me by $1! Oh well. I will find another. I'm gonna post pics when I get them both and go for a fitting, so I can get pics with the dress. I also bought 2 different hair flowers too. Go figure. Its just like me to be indecisive and complicate things!
  7. I am having trouble choosing which type of veil I want. I really love the look of a mantilla (just ordered one from ebay for $25,) but also love a cathedral style like the model is wearing. I found one on ebay for only $13. I think I will order both just to have, in case I change my mind. Which do you guys think would look better? Also, have any of you gone with a cathedral length and regretted it? I love how it looks in pictures when its blowing in the wind, but I'm afraid it will get annoying and in the way. Here is my dress... Thanks!
  8. I don't think I want to know either. I'm afraid I would give up. I am soooo tempted though. Either way, no biggie.

You would think that I would have made some stuff for myself, but I have yet to do that. Maybe I will be daring and attempt a bathing suit at some point.
  10. Congrats Jill! BTW, did we bail on the mini challenges? Anyone still in on that? They were such a great motivator for me.
  11. "We're born, we grow, we live, we die. If we're lucky, we have family and friends who know us and love us.Wherever we go and whatever we do, we can know that their spirits are alive in each of us, and that everything good already exists within ourselves." (I know this may sound corny, but I just saw the episode of Will & Grace last night where Nathan gives this little speech to Jack...I just love it.)
  12. Isn't it awful? I hate bathing suits. For some reason though, I can look in the mirror when I'm wearing a good pushup bra and those hipster style undies and it looks pretty darn cute. I keep wondering why bathing suits can't just fit like a great bra, and the bathing suit bottom can't be cut like hipster undies. If they were, I would have no problem! Maybe one day if I get a job after I'm done with school, I can go and design stuff that fits us properly! BTW, good luck with your wedding Joanna!
  13. Congrats Vikki! That is soooo incredible!!!! Please share your secrets with us!

Do you have any friends or family that sew? It would be so easy to take the top in a little on the sides. Only problem is that they need to have a serger since it is a knit. I would totally offer to do it for you, but I would hate to be responsible if god forbid I ruined it. I wish they had seperates that were like a swimdress on top, and a plain bottom. I am also 2 different sizes, and that would solve all the problems.
  15. Only the onboard credit promo they were advertising when we made our deposits. I am going to call my travel agent and see if she can do anything for us.

Now I won't waste my time to try it. I will stick to the shape fx ones. I originally ordered the 2 piece ruched bandeau suit with the ties that you can change around. I got the white and it was see through, and the bottoms were granny style and covered my belly button, so I sent it back and exchanged for the one you have. My friend ordered the v neck ruched tankini and loves it. It seems like they have nice stuff, but its hit or miss.

Thats the one I ordered a few weeks ago! It is taking forever to get here, because I originally had a different one and mailed it back to exchange for that one. It's killing me that it takes 4-6 weeks for them to process!!!! I am soooo excited now that you said it's cute! I also want to order the teal bandeau swim dress one that has the laces in the front, and the ruched halter one in the orchid color, but wanted to wait and see if I ordered the correct size first.

I am totally hitting up Dick's for that body glide... or, this may sound funny, maybe I will have FI buy it, he is actually athletic... I TOTALLY do not look like a runner lol... Just kidding, I am picking it up ASAP!!! Would it be weird if I asked them, "Where's the chub rub remedy??" Hahaha! Love it... PS, my mom lost like 70 pounds and she said, no matter what, she never got that space between the legs... which bandeau suit did you order? I have been stalking a few of them and I'm not sure which I want to get. I hate ordering online and having to pay to ship it back if I hate it. It's nice to know that it fits good prior to ordering. Thanks!
  19. I am too! October 8th in Bermuda (Norwegian Dawn.) I'm not using the ship's coordinators though. I am using my own coordinator on the island. Congrats!
  20. I just remembered seeing them on that site. I was searching for manzanita branches and I remembered seeing them in the same category. I don't know about the quality though. They seem cheap enough either way. I would order 1 pack to test them out and see what happens.
  21. Is this what you're looking for? This is my new favorite site. They have so many cute things and so cheap. Dried Natural Fan Sun Palm Leaves Basil 5 for $5.99 (14" wide)

I am a lil afraid....maybe I will try it the last 2 months before the wedding to help shed whatever I can't do on my own.
  23. I wish I could give some good advice...all I can offer is how we came to choose where we did. We chose Bermuda because we are bringing our son, who will only be 1 yr old, and we know that it is a very safe place. That was the only important factor to us. Many of other places would have met that criteria, but we didn't want to fly either, so a cruise to Bermuda was it for us! I think the best way to start is to choose which country is your first choice. Narrow it down to one or two countries, then worry about specific venues so you don't feel so overwhelmed. P.S. I saw *Petals* wedding pics up, not sure what her venue was, I think it was in Jamaica, and the place was stunning!
