  2. Very sexy! The one with your head tilted back and him kissing you, you can't get any sexier than that! You go girl!
  3. For 20 people I think having the villa cater would be a great idea. They have great service and try to accommadate all your requests. I hired an outside caterer only because I am having a large group and will be bringing in extra furniture and rentals. Most of the supplies you will need are already on site and it will save a lot of money to utilize those.
  4. Thanks for the review. Love to see brides coming back to keep the help coming in. Can't wait for the review on Sascha Gluck, thinking of using him since my photographer just cancelled out on me!
  5. The corkage fee is usually charged when you have the villa cater the event, then want to bring in your own liquor. They charge the fee because alcohol is where they can make the most money and they lose if you bring your own.
  6. I'll be getting married at the villa on August 8. My family is staying with us and we also have some family staying in Cancun and Playa del Carmen. We are planning a welcome b-b-q and found a wonderful caterer with amazing food in Tulum. I can send you any vendors you might need who have been incredibly help ful. Filipe from the villa is wonderful to work with. All the Best!
  7. Just a quick update, I've been informed this promotion was for April 2009 brides only. I will still be using them for my August wedding because they get rave reviews!!!
  8. Thankyou to all the brides posting the good thoughts. I will be building my visionary board with pics of my hotel and the beach and our last mexico visit. Bad things come in threes, drug wars, swine flu and earthquakes. Stay strong to all my Summer 2009 brides. If we are willing to go through all this for the wedding, it has to last forever, at least that what my fiance keeps telling me!
  9. With only 4 months till the wedding, I finally found the one.... I'm going to remove the halter strap to make the dress strapless and use the flower from the strap for my hair, so all the lace matches.....
  10. I did something very similar to this and got great feedback from all my guests... and I love seeing it on the fridge every morning.....

  12. Super excited. I booked him for my August wedding!!!
  13. Very exciting news ladies. Kamilla has decided to add a few dates for NYC for July and September. Her prices have gone up a little but still well worth it. I am looking to sign up for July 20th and I am super excited. Check her blog for more info...
  14. I'd love to hear more information on this. Of course a weekend day would be best for me, but I can also do afternoon. Nothing on April 13- 16. Other than that I should be good.
  15. We are getting personalized shotglasses and having them at all the place settings with those mini personal salt bags. When my groomt thanks everyone for coming, he is going to go through the steps for a real tequila shot, while the rest of the bridal party pours the tequila in glasses on the tables.

  17. Just PM'ed you about any towels left and the first aid kits! Hooray!
  18. I was just informed we may be headed to Vegas for my bachlorette party. My girls are a small group, 3 - 4 of us and thought it might be fun to see if there are any girls who would want to team up for this event. I'll be married in August and I believe the party is to be scheduled for last weekend in June or second in July. Maybe another smaller group would want to join us and it would help save on the cost and increase the fun potential for all.
  19. Hello ladies! Wow less than 6 months to go for most of us. I see there are some wedding date sisters out there! Hooray.
  20. My work morning just flew by. I have so many notes and tons of great advice. You girls are the best! I can't wait to add my thoughts and hopefully as time goes by, those I wouldn't do lists will keep getting shorter from all the great help. YOU GIRLS ROCK!
  21. Is anyone else out there severly stressed about having a destination wedding during this terrible economic time? I began planning my wedding in the Riveria Maya about a year ago for this August and now I am unsure that was wise. I feel terrible with some family already booked and unsure of their job stability and other friends who really want to be a part of the day and were planning on going but because of this economy can not make it. We discussed these plans with family and friends who were important to us and made sure they were able to go, which is how we made the decision to have a destination wedding but now some of the very same people cannot do it. I can't cancel because of those who have booked but I feel that postponing a year would be the best. Is anyone else sharing in this concern? What are your plans? My fiance and I both have job security and savings so we are not where the concern is, just our loved ones, including parents and siblings.
  22. Wow, what a great contest. Your photos are amazing. I am getting married in Riviera Maya on August 8, 2009 at a private villa. So far we have almost 50 booked and I have only sent out save-the-dates not even invitations. We're having the ceremony on the beach and then the reception poolside. My great engagement story: On our summer vacation in Portugal, Jose took me to the capital city, Lisboa and we walked around touring the city until sunset, when we ended up at an unbelievable waterfront castle. He bent down in front of me, told me how nervous he was and how beautiful I was. A few other tourists stopped to watch as he was bent in front of me and they were all waiting. My heart stopped. He dropped to a knee called me his princess and said he loved me. I started crying and he fumbled to open the ring box. He asked me to marry him and be his forever and I was blinking the tears away. It was perfect and he was my Prince Charming. Once he gave her the ? look, I realized that I forgot to answer him, oops! Of course I said yes and he jumped up to give me a hug and a kiss and picked me up and everyone started clapping.
  23. I am renting a private villa in Playa del Secreto for the week of my wedding. We are having the wedding party and parents stay with us and guests are staying in Cancun or Playa del Carmen. I love the idea of having less restrictions than at the major hotels and now we can host our ceremony on a private beach with the reception pool side.
