  1. I agree with Abbie. I think we (brides) take our invites way more seriously than the recipients do. Most of them don't even pay attention to them at all. I wouldn't spend a lot of money to have them redone.
  2. Since you are not inviting anyone to your wedding, I think you guest list for the shower can include everyone on you reception list. I would definately register. It is very helpful to the people who want to bring you a gift, otherwise, who knows what you'll get. Maybe you could put on the invitation something like "gifts are not necessary, your company will be gift enough." Something like that so people won't feel obligated to bring a gift, but won't feel uncomfortable doing so. If you are having a casual shower and a lot of people don't bring a gift, I would try to avoid opening them in front of everyone. If I went to a shower like that and chose not to bring a gift, I would feel uncomfortable having to sit and watch you open every single gift. I hope this makes sense! Good Luck!
  3. I would like to just include it in the oot bags. The problem with that is I'm planning on giving out the oot bags at our welcome dinner. I think I'm going to have my travel agent include a postcard sized invite with the travel documents that she hands out. The biggest reason I'm having a welcome dinner is to hand out the oot bags.
  4. Did anyone send invitations to their guests for their welcome dinner, or did you just tell your guests about it? Can you share your invitation if you did? Thanks!
  5. Thanks for sharing! I can't wait to get there!
  6. I'm afraid I can't be much help, as I cannot decide what to get my FI either. Here are some other threads that might help you though. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ht=groom+gifts http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ht=groom+gifts http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ht=groom+gifts
  7. I don't think you need favors at all. I don't think people expect them, and a lot of times they just end up throwing them away or leaving them behind.
  8. I cannot believe Audrina! How could she think Lauren would hook up with Justin? The worst part is, is she isn't even sorry for accusing Lauren. She doesn't get it at all! It's so funny to see Heidi back at her job in her crappy little cubicle. It was priceless when Holly was like "Don't you have an office."
  9. Congrats! I'm glad you guys had a great time! Your pictures are beautiful. I'm using Michael too, so I love to see his work.
  10. I did not. Most of my guests are pretty seasoned travellers, but if yours are not, then a reminder might help them out. You could send out a postcard and email with a checklist on it for them.
  11. Does anyone have a good recipe for a crab or seafood dip? I am looking for a cold dip. Thanks!
  12. Does anyone have white chair covers and red or orange sashes that they want to sell? I need about 40 of them.
  13. I want to have welcome cocktail hour at ROR the first night we are there. I asked Chandlyn about it, and she said it would cost $15 per person. I think that's crazy to spend that at an all inclusive resort. I want to pick a bar to just have everyone meet at. Any suggestions of which bar would be best?
  14. They have prices listed for 20, 30, 50, 70, 100, 150, or 200. If you want more than 200, you have to contact them for a price quote. I can't even imagine looking through 500 pictures!! I think I would get sick of seeing myself lol.
  15. I'm looking at the price list for my photographer and I can't decide how many pictures we should get. I just want to get them on a cd. How many pictures did everyone buy?
  16. Those are so cute....I've been wanting a shiba inu forever!
  17. Thanks for posting! Now I definately know I want to bring my own...I don't like those at all.
  18. I am using Michael and planning on getting our pictures on CD so I can print them however I want. I might buy a few prints from him, not sure yet. It doesn't matter to me if I get Michael or his assistant, I think they both do good work.
  19. 1. Do I need to provide my own vows? We're having the Civil Ceremony, but I've seen other girls say they've provided their own vows. Should I be working on some vows? Do they play a "Wedding song" of your choice in the middle of the ceremony like a traditional wedding? You don't have to write you own vows. They have a regular ceremony that they will provide. If you want something specific, then you should write your own vows. I'm sure they would play a song if you wanted them to. 2. Can I have the "sand cermony" at the Riu? If so, do I need to write something for that? You can do the sand ceremony. If you do it, I would recomend that you wrote something for it, I'm not sure what they would provide. I know you can find a lot of stuff online for this. 3. Cocktail Hour.....why would you have to pay extra per person if this is an all-inclusive resort and all of my guests are staying here? I can't answer this, I don't understand either. I thing you are better off just picking a bar and telling your guests to meet there. That way, your drinks will be included. 4. Reception......Do I need to reserve my restaurant w/ the WC now, or can we do that once we arrive at the hotel? I'm getting married a Riu Ocho Rios, and I have been trying to reserve my restaurant w/ my WC, but she won't get back to me. I would try to arrange it asap to ensure you get what you want. 5. We're not having any attendants.....I've been the MOH in a few weddings, plus my FI's sister is a very good friend, I'd never be able to pick an MOH without hurt feelings.....So who are my 4 witnesses? Can it just be our parents? Do they just sign some papers? It can definately just be your parents. I don't think you even have to have 4. We are having my brother and FI's sister be our witnesses since we don't have a wedding party. Your wedding can be as simple or extravagent as you want it to be. You wouldn't have to plan anything ahead if you don't want, as long as your an easy going bride! The resort is fully prepared to take care of your wedding without you doing everything yourself. Good luck planning!
  20. I am doing silk flowers so that I am sure I will get what I want. The only flowers included in my wedding package are the bouquet and groom's bout, and since we wanted a few more things, and I want them all to match, I decided to go with silk. You might want to see what the bouquets look like for your wedding package, you may not like what they have to offer, unless you're not picky. I think most resorts only offer a few selections, you can't get whatever you like as you would at a florist at home.
  21. I think it would look really cool if everyone would wear the same color, but it seams hard to get everyone to do it. I don't think I would be happy if I were told what color I had to wear to a wedding, especially if I had to buy a new outfit when I wasn't planning on it. It might depend on how many guests you are having.
  22. I think you could pull off the white bridesmaid dresses if you incorporate a lot of white in the wedding. If a lot of stuff is white, than I don't think it would stand out as much. Otherwise, I do think it distracts from the bride a bit.
  23. I have the pricelist from Michael. If you give pm me your email address, I will forward you the email I received from him.
  24. Congratulations! Great review, can't wait to see your pics!
