  1. Congratulations! Everything looks great. I love the gm's shirts. Your son is adorable.
  2. You look beautiful! I love the sash! It really adds something to the dress.
  3. I don't think you have to invite everyone that you've sent a STD. If you haven't talked to them in a long time, they probably forgot all about your wedding or don't care if they get invited.
  4. I think it is okay to ask guests to pay their own way. Especially if you or FI did not invite them.

I think I spent about $50 for supplies. Hobby Lobby has some good sales. It was definately worth it to do my own. It came out a lot cheaper than hiring someone else or buying real flowers. I have never done any kind of flower arranging before, but this was fairly easy.

Yay for 01/10/09 brides. lol I bought most of the flowers from Hobby Lobby, but I also got some from Michael's and JoAnn's.
  7. I finished my DIY flowers! I am so happy to cross something off the list. i made 4 bouts for FI, our Dad's and my brother. I made 4 wrist corsages for our Mom's, FI's Grandma, and FI's sister. This is my bouquet... These are the wrist corsages... And these are the bouts...
  8. I am so sorry to hear about your kittens. I wouldn't be able to stop crying if I were you either. Can the vet figure out what happened to the second kitten? There must be something they are getting into, it seems like too big of a coincidence to lose 2 kittens in such a short period of time. Good luck finding the answer, and again, I'm so sorry for your loss.
  9. I am having the same problem. I bought a pair of sandles that are white, but when I chose my dress, I got it in ivory. I am thinking of wrapping ivory ribbon around the bottom of the sandle to make it match better. You could definately add colored rhinestones or ivory to the tops to make them match.
  10. I bought some sandles that were somewhat closed toed for my dad and FI at Kohls. I bought them a few months ago when they had their summer stuff out still. It might be hard to find sandles this time of year. You have some time left, maybe wait until spring? Good Luck!
  11. Very pretty dress, and it looks great on you. I love it! What matters most is that you love it, so if you do, I say get it!
  12. You should just let them pick what they want to wear. Typically, the bride's mother chooses her dress first, than the groom's mother chooses a dress in a different color. You could let your mom choose, then his, then your stepmom, then his. That way they will all be wearing different colors.
  13. We haven't registered yet, but I agree. Just because you picked out the towels or bed sheets doesn't mean they are for you alone. He sleeps on the sheets too. You could try to get your co-worker a more "manly" gift, but shouldn't wedding gifts be for the couple? To me, the point of a shower is to help a new couple fill their home with the things they need. The woman does do most of planning and has the most stress, she deserves to pick the towels!
  14. Thanks for the advice. I think I will just steam it before I go and hope for the best. It can't get too bad, right? I just need to stop worrying.
  15. This is a question for the brides that have already had their weddings... Did you get your dress steamed before you left for your wedding, and if so, did it stay looking good, or did it get wrinkly during travels? Did you have it steamed at your resort? My resort won't steam it on site, they send it away, I'm not comfortable sending my dress away 2 days before my wedding. Thanks!
  16. Very cool dress! It's very unique. I'm sure you'll look great in it. I'm getting to ROR on 1/6/09, I wish I would be there 2 days earlier to see you in your dress.
  17. I'll have to check out the dollar store. Thanks for the suggestions!
  18. Congrats and thanks for the great review! Booking a private trip for your group to Dunn's River Falls sounds great. Did you book through a travel agent or directly through Lee's tours? If you booked through Lee's tours, could you tell me how to get in touch with them? Were you able to arrange this trip before you got to the resort? Also, I was wondering how you went about handing out your oot bags. Thanks!
  19. I am thinking about putting small air freshener bottles in my oot bags, but I don't want to spend a fortune. Has anyone included air freshener or know where I can but the little spray bottles fairly cheap?
  20. Everytime I make a deposit on something, I feel the same way...Like something else better will come along or I made the wrong decision. I guess we just need to stop worrying, I'm sure everything will work out fine.
  21. I would start booking as soon as possible. We're getting married at the ROR in January, we were able to start booking in April. I would definately book your wedding date and time asap, as they fill up quickly. Contact the resort to see when you can reserve your time. Most people go with the free package and purchase upgrades. You don't have to choose a package until you are there for your wedding, so you have plenty of time to decide what you want. Welcome to the forum. You will find a lot of info on ROR. It is a very popular choice. Good Luck!
  22. That's funny! Thanks for the laugh. I didn't know leftover wine was an option!
  23. At the weddings that I have been to recently, the Best Man gave his speech first, so hopefully you can follow his lead.
  24. We are getting married at ROR and for every 25 people booked, we get a comp for 1 person, which equals about $1100. Your could devide that amongst your guests. All resorts offer different things like that. I think some cruise lines offer a comp for 1 person per 8 rooms booked, so if you have a lot of people going, that can add up quick. You just have to check with some different resorts or cruise lines to see what they offer. Good Luck!
