  1. There are a few of us that are getting married at Riu Vallarta. There are so many great places to pick from. Good luck!
  2. Oh, Andi! It looks like it was such a wonderful day. I really can not wait now. You and Reggie are so darn cute. Congratulations! I can't wait to see your pics. Did you do a trash the dress session? I'm so excited to see all your pics.
  3. Thanks Helen! You were right about the low occupancy. My sister was able to find out that was why they are upgrading people. It would nice if we all get upgraded. I'm just a bit nervous for what that means for my wedding and reception. I'm going to try to give Jessica a call and see if I can get through. Fingers crossed!

Subject to availability Funjet Vacations Has anyone else heard about this? My travel agent isn't calling me back so I can't get any answers from her. Does anyone know why RIU Vallarta is closed but not Jalisco or Pacifico? Also, I can't get the wedding coordinators to email me back. I want to confirm the following: - poolside reception - dinner reservation - total number of guests (we have 70!!) - table setup (I need to make a seating chart) Does anyone have suggestions on what to do? Is it normal that I don't have any of those items confirmed?
  5. I've been trying to book with Renova but there is some confusion on what is included with our package and what isn't. Did anyone else have this problem? I'm getting my hair done the week before by my usual girl so that we can take pictures.
  6. I wish there was something I could do. I think all of us are a bit nervous to see what happens. I'm really sorry you didn't have more time. Hopefully, everything will turn out ok.
  7. Crap! I just realized I didn't send mine in yesterday. That's ok; I know wouldn't have been good. I had my bachalorette party this weekend, which means I consumed way too much!

You're wedding was beautiful. Thank you sooo much for posting pics. It's really helpful. I have a bunch of questions for you: - Did the resort cover the chairs and provide the chair ties or did you have to purchase that and bring it down? - Was the photographer easy to work with? Did they give you a chance to tell him the types of pictures you wanted? - Your flowers were amazing. I'm guessing the blue one was fake (I've never seen a flower so blue). Did you have your bouquet made ahead of time or did they do it? If so did you just give them photos? I'm having a really hard time getting things setup with Jessica (she isn't returning my emails). Did you have your dinner reservations and stuff scheduled ahead of time? Did you have anything beside your ceremony scheduled? Thanks so much for your help! - Bo
  9. Andi - I'm so happy for you! Your wedding is going to be wonderful. You've done amazing work to get all of this lined up and put together. It really is so impressive. Congratulations!! See you when you're Mrs. Brown P.S. I'm going to be in FTC this weekend doing brew tours. We'll have one for you.
  10. Thanks ladies! I think a thank you card is perfect. You're right, there's definitely other things I need to be working on. Thanks for keeping me sane!

Does that help? One warning I would like to mention, is that the bill will be higher than you think, so just allow for that. It has something to do with how the RIU converts between US dollars and pesos. Ours was over $1000 US more than the bill showed. Thanks, Ava! Wow! $1000 more? Do you remember which package you selected? On their website they give prices in US dollars so it seems weird that it would be so much more expensive. Did you have to bring a cake knife and server or did they provide that? Also, did you get your hair done at the spa? Thanks for all your help! - Bo
  12. I had been working out before we started and had been stuck at the same weight for three weeks despite increasing my cardio and the number of workouts. I've been working out five or six days a week. This week I started doing two workouts a day - yesterday was spin and yoga today was a 3.5 mile run and 30 minutes of elliptical tonight. Hopefully, I can lose a few pounds now because my bach. party is this weekend so you know I'll be eating and drinking (a lot).
  13. Has anyone heard from Jessica lately? I've been trying to reach her to firm up a bunch of details but haven't heard back at all. Any suggestions? Also, does anyone know if we need to pick our cake from a specific set of designs or can we bring a picture?
  14. Hi Ladies, I was wondering if any of you gave gifts or mementos to the girls that came to your Bachelorette party. There are about 17 girls coming to my bach party and I'd like to do something nice for them, especially since a lot of them won't be able to come to the wedding. Have any of you done something or have any suggestions? The party is this weekend so I don't have time for a DIY project but would like something inexpensive. I'd love suggestions! Thanks, Bo
  15. So, I was telling FI about wanting a BodyBugg but we agreed that it just seemed to expensive. Well, yesterday he came home with a surprise. He said he was really proud of the fact that I've been working out and that he wanted to be supportive so he bought me a Timex heart rate monitor. It's really cool. It tracks calories, heart rate, timer, etc. It has a band that you wear under your clothes just below your bra and syncs up with a watch. You can't even tell I'm wearing it. The best part? He got it a Costco for $45. It's the timex ironman watch. They also have a Garmin one for $90 that comes with more options. I'm using an online calorie counter to track my calories and then comparing it to what I'm burning. It's perfect for me.
  16. Janet Ivanovich is great! I'm also a fan of the Twilight series (I took two sick days so that I could read them all back to back. Recently, I read Water for Elephants which was good. For my book club I'm reading Time Travelers Wife. It is fantastic! I highly recommend it. Have you guys checked out paperbackswap.com. The selection isn't always great, but it's a good way to get books for cheap.
  17. My RSVPs are due back on 4/15. I think I'm going to try and call everyone and get commitments from everyone by 5/1 but after reading this thread I doubt that's going to work. I know a lot of people have RSVP'd yes but few have actually booked all of their travel.
  18. Any recommendations on restaurants in Bucharias where I could do a rehearsal dinner for about 65 people? I'd like something that's either on the beach or has AC.

  20. Jill, I'm interested to hear how it goes. Two people in my spin class tonight were using them and they really like them. I've been considering it too but it does seem kind of like a lot of money. I'll be interested to see what you think.
  21. Wow! You girls on it. I better get the word out. Most of my friends are already married (I guess that's what I get for taking six years ). I do know a few people that I'll send this way.
  22. We just bought FI's suit this weekend. It's a lighter brown and is pretty light weight. We got it at Macy's (they were having a sale and only paid $200 compared to one we liked at Nordstroms for $800). I think we are going to have the groomsman wear beige pants and white linen shirts.
  23. Thanks to all! This is one of the best threads on the site. I really appreciate you all giving lots of great feedback. Thank you!
