Hi, we are planning on using Sweet Dreams - we have only looked into individual cake prices, but think the price for your above cake sounds reasonable...if you break it down pp it isn't so bad. Now we know why so many people don't bother having a cake and just go for dessert!

ooh thanks for posting that conversation you had myen. I had decided i wasn't going to mention to mp i was having an outside vendor! I was just going to book them in as a guest and hope for the best! but thats good to know what their response was to someone being soo upfront!hee hee xxxxxxx

I'm sure your mum would respect that, and love to be given that part in the wedding day. I'm in a similar position in that my mum and dad split up when i was young and i don't have a relationship with my dad...although we were in touch in my late teenage years, he never made me feel equal to his new family. he found out we had set a date for the wedding and apparently was really angry they weren't invited...but i'm not having people at my day just because. I'm having my mums partner as my "father of the bride", he was never really a father figure tbh, but he was and still is always there for me, more than my actual dad ever was. I would love to have had my mum as my "father daughter dance", but unfortunately she is no longer with us. So i'd say do it! take the moment and make it what you want! share the "father of the bride" between the 2 of them! xxxxx

i'm also going to do the blue flip flops/sandals..not found anything i like yet..but will go serious shoe hunting next summer. I don't know about the others...the something new will probably be my dress, then the something old will be my mums pearls, but i don't know about the something borrowed...maybe i'll start eyeing up everyones jewellery!lol xxxxxxx

I'd rather order my dresses online - but am the same as you, wondering if there will be any problems - i means, its your wedding dress - kinda a big deal!lol but for me, i'm defo going to do it, i'd rather get a nice wee online discount and get the dress sent to my house, than go into a store and get pestered of a sales assistant trying to get some commission!lol xxxxxxxx

Being a forward thinking bride, my thoughts are it depends on the case. I contacted Moon Palace away back in January asking questions about making bookings for a 2010 wedding...they had only just opened their bookings for 2009 weddings at this point! So in general cases like that, I think maybe a week would be acceptable. However, when the email is regarding an actual booking, i'm with the other girls - 2 days tops! hope that helps xxxxxxxx

omg i would be heartbroken if this happened to me...and i'm glad to hear she hadn't paid them anything. Would defo make me re-think going with that photographer - but maybe this happening will have made them rethink how they go about backing up their images.
