  1. Sorry, I can't confirm anything. We got legally married in Canada before we left.
  2. Sarah, that's really crappy. I'm glad you got it all sorted out. Just think of how great you'll feel once your on that plane on the way to your wedding. The stress will all melt away in the sun

She's not crazy about the style but the color is what I want (royal blue). Because we waited so long before looking for dresses for her, we can't order a dress from a bridal shop anymore so she is forced to buy something off the rack which is limiting. However, I still think it's a nice dress so I hope she gets it because time is running out! My FI did an hour long fashion show last night with various different pants and shirts we ordered and I THINK it is now finalized...LOL I have no idea why it takes so long to make that decision. He ended up going with the one I liked (go figure) an hour after trying on all different combos! My OOT bags have been ready for awhile (honestly, I had the best time getting everything together) I just need to print off my itineraries, finish my DIY luminaries, write my welcome notes, finalize my music choices, and create some playlists for the reception. My final dress fitting is March 28, I made my nail appt, hair trial appt, dentist appt already and I am hoping to get to Sephora for a makeup trial and keep tanning so I have some color! Wow, you're way further ahead than I was at that point! Our GM didn't have shoes till two days before we left
  4. My DH will NOT have me wearing the original dress at our AHR. I'm okay with that but I was surprised he cared so much. He thinks it's just "weird". Shoes and music were also on his list.
  5. Wow, your planning is amazing! Your guests will be blown away!!! Everything looks so beautiful. I have to say, all the shoes are my fav part!

If so, what do you recommend bringing? We have crayons, pencil cases, and toys with the Canadian flag on them...what do you think? They charged the hair appts to our rooms but we left cash tips. My ceremony was at 2, we started at 9 and it was a little tight with 2 moms, 3 BM's and myself. Just make sure you get your hair done early so you don't have to stress and have lots of time for makeup. I also arranged for one of our guests to do any last minute running around. It was super helpful b/c the BM's were busy getting ready and there turned out to be a lot of running around and the resort is very big, so no errand is a quick errand. We brought chocolate bars, makeup, stationary and little nail kits. The stuff you are bringing sounds great. We found what makes the biggest difference is meeting your housekeeper and trying to get to know her. Some people who left the biggest tips got the worst service, really weird I know. Sarah! I'm getting so excited for you! How was your trip to Winnipeg?

The lace is a little stretched so it's now a little longer than the lining and there's a small rip in the hem. Not too bad though

  9. The black looks beautiful! I think it's such a classy addition, especially with the silver.
  10. Hi Stacey! Congrats on planning your destination wedding. The dreams resorts look really beautiful! Yay Winnipeg!! Connie
  11. Aw, congrats! I am so happy for you that FI responded so positively. You must have been so relieved! It must have just been torture keeping that news to yourself. Thanks for sharing with us, I'm sure everything will turn out great!

Thanks so much.... p.s. Did the hair stylist come to your room? or did you go to her? What time did you book your appointment? I have 4 other girls...when should I book them? My oh my...the questions...hahaha Thanks, Jodie Hey Jodie, I didn't notice any other lights at the reception. Just the ones strung in the trees. I also made luminaries for the tables which threw a bit of light. I don't think our photographer brought lights although he has crazy bit flashes. For the hair we went to a little salon near the lobby of the hotel. She can only do one girl at a time and she takes a little bit longer than I expected. We started the mothers hair appointments at 9, then me, then my 3 BM's. I went earlier just in case it didn't work out and so that I could take my time doing my makeup. It all worked out great in the end.

We are also doing the sand ceremony and I was pleasantly surprised when I saw your pictures of it. I loved the frame/sand idea. Is that also from Michaels? When you had to actually pay for the wedding did they just charge to your room account? I've heard they ask you for the cash right away. Sorry so many questions.....Let me know if I'm a pain. Any other suggestions for things I should bring in terms of decorations or anything you can think of ? I truly appreciate all your help. Thanks again, Jodie I had the frame already, the two vials were from Michaels. We paid for the wedding with Visa the day after the wedding. Jodie, you are not a pain at all
  15. I did TTD and I don't think my mom ever really got over it. She said the pictures were nice but I don't think she ever really "got" it. All that matters is you do what you and FI want! It's your wedding!

Thanks a bunch..your pictures are inspiring and really get me excited. Cheers, Jodie I brought my flowers with me. They are for sale if you're interested. I have a bride bouquet and 3 smaller BM ones. Oh, and a hair flower. I made the luminaries out of small paper bags from Michaels. All I did is use a lacy edge punch for the tops of the bags, and put sand and a votive candle inside. I thought they were great, added a nice extra light to the tables. The beach BBQ food was some of the best we ate all week. The set-up was kinda weird (Think orange fabric hearts on the ground and black candles on the cake table) at first but I went at checked on it around 4:30 and they made some changes which made the whole thing better. For music we used an ipod with various different playlists. We also asked for a mic for the speeches. Connie

I loved your hair as well. Mind if I get a picture to bring with me so they can try to do the same? Did you have any suggestions for the beach bbq setting etc... I 'm curious if I should bother bringing decorations for the tables etc... Thanks ladies for all your valuable information and congrats Jodie: " Nova Scotia Bride" Jodie, I don't mind at all if you bring a picture of my hair for the hairdresser. She does a really good job but a little slow. Make sure you leave yourself lots of time. We had 2 moms, 3 bridesmaids and myself. We started at 9 am and it was a little tight to get everyone done. For the reception I just had them stick with all white linens, they like to add all sort of little bits of flare. I also brought white and pink small paper bags to use as luminaries and a ton of votive candles. My suggestion is that you check the setup or have someone check it for you around 5:00 in case you need to make any changes. All the best, let me know if you have any other questions! Connie
  18. Sarah, they look great! They will be so beautiful on the beach! I know Michaels has the pink bags and sometimes they have a light orange too. Good luck, can't wait to see them all done!
  19. I think I just posted to the thread and then it opened back up again. You must have magically locked it with your compliments!
