I am also thinking of having one or all of my kids say a poem or something. Pookie, with your private function, I would not even consider the cocktail party - smart on your part. Are you bringing all your arrangements? What about OOT bags? I was kind of thinking to buy alot of the items to go in the OOT bags while at the Moon simply to minimize what I have to bring. You know all the airlines are going nuts on the additional baggage! I do not think a veil is appropriate for me, but what is your guys take on flowers, jewels, or a tiara? I will have a wedding gown because I didn't get to do that the first time around - it is a creamy ivory color. Also, my husband is an officer in the military so he will be wearing his uniform. The MOH and BM dresses are navy blue abd believe it or not, I still have to decide what my boys will be wearing - suit or tux? crazy, huh with 6 weeks left to go. I need to get way busy! Thanks! Nicole Haha, I was going to ask if you were wearing white In some ways, 6 weeks is a lot of time, in other ways, it isn't. Don't do anything that's going to add more stress than it's worth That being said, I think I read somewhere that there's a walmart and Costco in Cancun...so if you wanted to pick up stuff there for the OOT bags, it might be a lot cheaper than getting the stuff from the resort and less stress than trying to get it from up here to down there. Just look into the cost to rent a car or a cab to and from

It looks like you guys had a great time! Your makeup looks great, but is that how you got the pink eye?! That's sooo not good! I'd let the company that did your makeup know!

If I could whistle on here, I would. You look great!

Someone broke into my car and stole some OOT stuff =*(

I was actually going to suggest the same thing as Vale! I'm so sorry you had to go through this. Hopefully FMIL will understand about the cards. -

More free fireworks at my wedding! Woohoo! (hee)

WOW! I'd say something to her like "You're going to tell everyone about the engagement before (or after) Mexico, right?" just to be sure she doesn't drop a bomb that ruins your trip. Keep us posted! -

Pampered Chef
Dez921714 replied to Kryztan's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I used to sell Pampered Chef. You can totally register with them! Their stuff is awesome I have SOOOOOooo much stuff that some of it hasn't come out of the garage (we have a small kitchen LOL). Let me know if you have any questions, I might be able to answer them. -
Hehe, I'd say keep the tiara (then again, I'm planning on having one LOL), but the gloves...hmmm...maybe blame the heat and humidity and tell her your hands are sticky and swollen (my hands swell when it's hot) and you'd be more comfortable without them (I know, not a great mental imagine but)... Oh, or tell her you read on here about other brides who wore gloves and it was a nightmare, so you're rethinking it...if you want, we can start a thread on it so you can show her...and "should I or shouldn't I" thread...just let me know and I'll start it (of course, that's assuming the thread goes the way we want it to lol)

Just to revise my previous post...I called FMIL's friend to make sure I was spelling her name right and she suggested that I put it on her card. So she just wanted me to do it for her, but on her card. I told you she was a sweet lady LOL Off to change my count to 7!

They all know I just got a second job. FSIL is excited about my discount.... FMIL's best friend just called us and told us she's in for the wedding and asked us to book her airline. I told her I would and I'd let her know how much and stuff...when did it become my job to book peoples airline? This I blam on his mom, she probably told her to call me and ask me to do it. I don't have the money for this. I am way too nice! FMIL's friend said looking up airline stuff online confuses her. She really is a sweet woman I couldn't say no. Hopefully, she'll reimburse us as soon as we tell her the cost (this sunda at her grandaughters communion).

Then I'd definately say wait before you ask her! You do have some time before your wedding, so it's not like they have to go order dresses right now. Just keep it in the back of your mind, but be cautious. If things go great, awesome, ask her...but if you only see each other when you HAVE to, I'd say if you can live without her being in it, then don't ask her..it might cause more stress than it's worth

Has your sister mentioned not being in your bridal party? I think it depends on your relationship and how you both feel about it. I can undersand you not asking her, but I also can't imagine not having my sister in mine. Maybe wait a few months and see if things go well with her and then ask her then. The last thing you want to do is ask her and then have a falling out and then be stressed. You have some time, if she asks who's in your wedding, you could just say you haven't decided yet...just my idea.

Oh, and thank you all for the compliments on the dress!! Now, if only I looked like the model.....lol

Maybe a cute outfit? Or tickets to a concert if someone is playing loacally, you might be able to find out if she likes them? Sorry, I'm not much help here.

I don't know how to do a poll, or I'd make this one... We are doing a TTD I just booked a photog for it. I'm torn because I want to wear my actual dress for it. Here are the issues....a)the dress cost quite a bit of money, grandma bought the dress as my wedding gift, c) We are having an AHR and I have to wear my dress again, so grandma can see me in it (she's over 90 and not going to Mexico). I know a lot of brides say their dress comes out cleaner, but I don't know if it's the same fabric &/or beadwork. Tell me what you think? Wil the sand/saltwater stain it and/or ruin the beadwork? Here's a link to my dress. Demetriosbride.com - Wedding Dress Princess from Demetrios Bridal

Who pays for day passes?
Dez921714 replied to McCheng's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Oh...and we did tell people we'd pay for their day passes for the day of the wedding, but are VERY clear that other days, if they want to hang out at our resort it'll be almost $100 per person....when I tell them that and then tell them the things they get when staying with us (food, drink, excursions) they opt to stay with us (except for one couple who are on teh fence still) -
Who pays for day passes?
Dez921714 replied to McCheng's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I think it depends on the bride and groom and the people coming. We are opting to pay for guests day passes if they don't stay at our resort. Yes, we want everyone to be a guest where we stay, but some people can't afford it and we feel that if they are making the effort to get to Mexico to see us get married, we can cover their day pass. But again, it depends on the bride, groom and guests involved.
