  5. Hm..... When I asked my WC what the day pass fee was for photographer and videographer and she told me 75 per person. (I am getting married at the Riu Santa Fe) I am assuming since she told me the price and didn't sound concerned, I should be OK. BUT I am about to pay my deposit on my photographer and videographer.... maybe I should get it it writing that they are allowed to be there!
  6. Great idea! It would be amazing, after the excitement of the wedding and honeymoon... to come home to postcards from your family and friends! Thanks for the idea!
  7. I had a thought about OOT bags. First of all, i think that the men might not use them at all on their trip, it will probably only be the women. And after the wedding & vacation, will they ever use them again? What about this.....save money on the OOT bags themselves, and spend more on the stuff in 'em. The bags can get thrown away after (or kept by some of the people who like to keep things as momentos). Does this seem cheap? Or practical? I have been looking at the many OOT bag threads, and I havent seen anyone mention this. Maybe it is totally tacky and I should just forget this idea. You can buy nice white bags, but they also come in all sorts of colors as well. And I was thinking of having our logo (which I don't have yet) made into big stickers to put on the bags. I just can't see anyone using a bag after the wedding that has "Bradley and Holly... July 8th, 2008" on the side of it, ever again. Don't get me wrong, the bags that have been posted on here are gorgeous... and I dont want anyone to think I think they are a bad idea, I still may go that route myself. i just may rather spend money on the stuff inside, than the bags themselves. I would love to hear your thoughts and feedback. Thanks!
  8. We were engaged after 5 1/5 months of dating. And now a fairly short engagement.... we will be saying "i do" after 14 months of knowing each other. I think we knew after a month that we would end up getting married... but people would have really thought we were crazy if we would have told them that!! LOL
  9. Welcome! You will find so much useful info here! Great choice on Puerto Vallarta, it is beautiful! Have fun planning... and CONGRATS!!
  10. I have been on the Caborey, and really loved it. It is by no means a fancy boat... but the staff is amazing, and the margaritas are strong! = ) I might be doing a daytime snorkelling cruise for my group in July! The price does seem high. On their website it says 89+tax. Are you doing a private dinner... it that why the price is high? You would think they would offer discounts on groups. I am a travel agent, and we often sell tours by Grayline. Go to their website, they have a dinner cruise that they offer for 56 per person. You can probably contact them regarding group rates. Good luck!! ~ H
  11. Welcome to the forum! You will find a ton of useful info here!!
  12. Hi = ) I am getting married there in July. Although I have stayed at the Riu palace, and I saw the Santa Fe when it was almost finished. Unfortunately though, i havent stayed there to try it out. We do not know where we will have our reception yet. You can chose one of the restaurants, and it is included in the AI package. You can also arrange to have a private reception, and the cost was about 50 or 60 per person... and only beer and wine is included. Would definately be nice to have a private dinner... but we are very frugal so will likely go for one of the restaurants. I have not had great responses with our WC Ericka, but when you call her on it... she gets back to you faster. If you are still trying to decide where to do the wedding, this forum is a great way to see what people are saying. Since the Santa Fe is new it is very tough since there have been no weddings yet (or none that I know of). I am really confident with the choice to have it here. I am a travel agent, and Riu has a very good name, and reputation. For my FH and I, the only decision we had to make was between Riu Palace, or Riu Santa Fe. And the only reason we chose Santa Fe was so that our guests wouldnt have to fork out as much. Good luck!!
  13. Welcome! It is my first day here too! I saw at least 2 weddings a day at the Riu Palace when i was there last year, thats why i chose to get married in Cabo! We are getting married at the Riu Santa Fe, the resort next to the Palace, as is it much more affordable for our guests. The Dreams is supposed to be beautiful, but keep in mind, with the Riu properties, 85 percent of your guests have to be staying at the resort! i am not sure about the Dreams... (The Dreams is gorgeous though.... we are having our honeymoon there!) I am booked for The Riu Santa Fe for the 8th of July 08!!
  14. Hi! I am getting married at The Riu Santa Fe in Cabo, on July 8th,08. I stayed at the Riu Palace last year, and absolutely FELL IN LOVE with it! To be kind to our guests, we chose to get married at the Santa Fe, as it is cheaper than the palace. I have seen the Santa Fe before it was open, and know that it will be a beutiful location! Anyone with first hand experience... i would love to hear what you thought of the Santa Fe! ~ Holly
